July, 1992
Roster Faces Vendetta Baron von Raschke Jerry Lynn Bob Orton Jr Mike Lozansky Harley Tragger Troy Galveston The Natural J.W. Storm Sandy Beach Donny Brook Randy Mullett
Heels Rogue Dirty White Boy Ben Bassarab Soultaker Nick Bockwinkel Brett Como Kid Gallahad Sebastien Rikard Archangel (New) Stan Saxon Sonny Trout
River City Wrestling #499 July 4, 1992 Winnipeg, Manitoba Opening Bout: Stan Saxon defeated Randy Mullett by pinfall following a sidewalk slam at 5:20 -Saxon's first victory in RCW
Bout #2 Archangel defeated Donny Brook by submission to the full nelson at 4:23 -Archangel's premiere. Well built, muscular, 5'11 245 lbs., not a terrible worker but wouldn't be confused with Lou Thesz either. Came out as a heel.
Bout #3 Brett Como defeated Sandy Beach after a top rope splash at 6:56 -decent showing for Beach who is trying to elevate himself from curtain jerker, but it looks like Como might be ditching the tag team scene and started his new direction with a solid win.
Bout #4 Jerry Lynn defeated Sebastien Rikard by pinfall after a diving crossbody at 9:31 -another solid match between two guys both just looking to get to the pay window and start climbing that ladder. Following the loss Rikard was visibly upset and kicked away at the bottom rope and turnbuckle, argued with the ref and then the crowd. Finally security managed to convince him to head to the showers without incident.
Bout #5 J.W. Storm defeated Kid Gallahad by pinfall after a neckbreaker drop at 11:01 -pretty good match, a rematch from last card when Gallahad got DQ'd for choking out Storm. Gallahad tried to jump Storm before the bell but the big man threw him into the corner and pounded the Scottish punk. Storm beat Gallahad from pillar to post for 4 minutes but was unable to get the pin. Gallahad finally made a comeback thanks to a rake of the eyes and a thumb to the throat. Gallahad controlled the match but unable to get the win himself he went higher risk as the match progressed. Finally he tried for a crossbody from the top buckle onto Storm outside the ring, but Storm moved out of the way. Storm could have got a countout win but broke the count getting back into the ring, then rolled back outside to retrieve his opponent. Back inside Storm whipped Gallahad to the buckle then took him over with a powerslam...got a 2 count...hit the neckbreaker drop and got the win.
Bout #6 #1 contenders match Dirty White Boy defeated Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall after a hotshot at 8:20 -Commissioner Jim Brunzell set this match up himself. On the surface it was a #1 contenders match for the Heavyweight title, but underneath that there was a measure of revenge for what DWB did to Sandy Beach last card. However, things did not exactly go as planned. DWB had his moments but when he went for his finisher chokeslam it was blocked by the bigger Soultaker. The big man controlled most of the rest of the match but DWB made a big impression when reeling and staggering he managed to grab on to Soultaker and take him backward, bouncing his throat off the top rope, then rolled him up for a pin, getting the 1, put his feet over the middle strand for leverage, 2, 3.
Bout #7 North American Women's Title Match "Submission Match" Beverlee Hills defeated Cynthia Rothrock by submission to the Smother at 7:50 [Beverlee Hills Won the North American Women's Title] -strange match. Jim Brunzell came out prior to the match and announced that unfortunately he had been over ruled by the board of directors and that Hills' smothering move was deemed to be legal, as long as it wasn't a "choke hold". So for this match the smother would be legal. Hills got on the mic and goaded Rothrock into making this a submission only match, no pinfalls allowed, looking to neutralize her deadly spinning heel kick. As could be predicted at one point the champ nailed the finisher, forgot and went for the pin. Rothrock managed to try to get a submission with an armbar, a leglock, and a sleeperhold but could not seal the deal. Hills though had more luck with her smothering move.
Bout #8 Nick Bockwinkel & Ben Bassarab defeated Baron von Raschke & The Natural by pinfall when Bockwinkel pinned Natural after a piledriver at 12:17 -as might be expected the two young guys Bassarab and Natural worked most of the match, and Bassarab was far superior to Natural. So despite a late rally by the Baron, the end came when Bassarab had softened up Natural and Bockwinkel finished him off.
Main Event RCW Tag Team Title Match Bob Orton Jr. & Mike Lozansky and Harley Tragger & Troy Galveston battled to a double countout at 10:47 [Orton & Lozansky retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] -A little surprising when this match between two fan favorite teams degenerated into one of the biggest brawls this year. Orton and Galveston really went at it, like two cowboys at last call. Referee Buddy Lane tried to restore order but to no avail. Then just after it was thrown out and all 4 men were still outside the ring brawling, the Nick Bockwinkel Talent Agency (Nick Bockwinkel, Soultaker, Ben Bassarab) also came out to join the fray. The brawl lasted another 5 minutes with Jim Brunzell & Baron von Raschke also coming out to try and break it up and ending up being dragged into the fisticuffs.
River City Wrestling #500 July 18, 1992 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout Archangel defeated Sandy Beach by pinfall after a full nelson slam at 4:28 -second straight victory for the newcomer Archangel, and in easy and impressive style against a guy Beach who had been building some momentum. As an aside, Sebastien Rikard came out to scout and watch this match from the announce table, but was unwilling to actually engage in conversation with the announce team.
Bout #2 Brett Como & Sebastien Rikard defeated Donny Brook & Randy Mullett by pinfall when Rikard pinned Mullett after a swinging neckbreaker at 6:31 -just a filler match with two throw together teams.
Bout #3 Ben Bassarab (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated The Natural by pinfall after a diving crossbody at 4:56 -quick match for Bassarab, and maybe the end of the line for the Natural.
Bout #4 Dirty White Boy defeated Jerry Lynn by pinfall after a chokeslam at 11:27 -DWB wins this battle of two guys both just outside the championship scene. DWB is the #1 contender and awaits the winner of the Vendetta - Rogue battle.
Bout #5 Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) and J.W. Storm battled to a double countout at 4:30 -Two big men, the match got nasty fast, and will carry forward unsettled business to next card.
Bout #6 North American Women's Title Match Cynthia Rothrock defeated Beverlee Hills by disqualification for a chokehold at 8:02 [Beverlee Hills retained the North American Women's Title] -The champ used her forearm to choke out the challenger, trying to disguise it with her ample bosom, but that didn't fool referee Jurgen Hermann who was keeping a close eye on the Hills.
Bout #7 RCW Tag Team Title Match Bob Orton Jr & Mike Lozansky defeated Harley Tragger & Troy Galveston by pinfall when Orton pinned Galveston after a running bulldog at 10:21 [Orton & Lozansky retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] -Soultaker and Ben Bassarab came down at one point to scout the match much to the annoyance of both teams. Other than that however there were no other shenanigans, and the match was fought hard but fair. In the end though Orton managed to take out the much younger Galveston.
Bout #8 RCW Heritage Title Match Baron von Raschke defeated Nick Bockwinkel by disqualification for use of a foreign object at 11:38 [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title] -Lots of old school, delays and attempts by Bock to frustrate Raschke, rest holds, trunk pulls, etc. Bockwinkel controlled most of the match and it looked like the title might change hands. However, Raschke made a spirited comeback only to have Bock reverse a whip attempt and send the champ colliding with referee Jurgen Hermann. Bockwinkel retrieved a steel chair and ~waffled~Raschke, covered, no ref, Hermann slowly recovered...and threw the match out, apparently having seen the chair shot. In for a penny, in for a pound, Bockwinkel decided to nail Raschke a second time with the chair, then a third....the champ was busted wide open. Commissioner Jumpin' Jimmy Brunzell hit the ring and dropkicked Bockwinkel from behind sending him head first into the buckle, the former AWA champ's head smashing into the chair and he came up from the mat wearing the crimson mask as well. Brunzell was fired up!!
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Vendetta defeated Rogue by countout at 10:09 [Vendetta retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] -another chapter in this feud, this time seeing Rogue getting his rematch after dropping the belt to Vendetta in June. Nothing new here between these two, just lots of hatred, match going in and out of the ring. Finally Vendetta began to really wear down Rogue. The challenger managed to escape a DDT finisher attempt, slid out of the ring, and walked away!!

August, 1992 Roster
Faces Vendetta Baron von Raschke Jerry Lynn Bob Orton Jr Mike Lozansky Harley Tragger Troy Galveston J.W. Storm Paul Youngbear Portugese Manowar Emerald Dragon
Heels Rogue Dirty White Boy Ben Bassarab Soultaker Nick Bockwinkel Brett Como Kid Gallahad Sebastien Rikard Archangel Alleycat Anderson Joe Gauthier Paul Gauthier
River City Wrestling #501 August 1, 1992 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout Emerald Dragon defeated Alleycat Anderson by submission to the STF at 6:43 -solid outing for the masked technician.
Bout #2 Sebastien Rikard & Archangel defeated Paul Youngbear & Portugese Manowar by submission when Archangel made Manowar submit to the full nelson at 5:25 -new tag team of Rikard and Archangel looked impressive, the brains and the brawn.
Bout #3 J.W. Storm defeated Brett Como after a neckbreaker drop at 8:02 -Storm had a DDQ match last card against Soultaker but the finalization of that battle will have to wait as Soultaker has a tag title shot tonight. Instead Storm had a match agains the fast pace of Brett Como. The two of them put on a good show with Storm coming out on top.
Bout #4 Harley Tragger & Troy Galveston defeated Joe & Paul Gauthier by pinfall when Tragger pinned Joe Gauthier after a powerbomb at 5:08 -premiere of the Gauthier's, Uncle and Nephew from a small town south of Winnipeg, La Broquerie. They turned out to be just another pair of jobbers.
Bout #5 Jerry Lynn defeated Kid Gallahad by pinfall after a spinebuster slam at 9:46 -a terrific match put on by two fast paced and technically sound grapplers. Lynn continues to hang around the top of the contender scene, but Gallahad seems to be on his way down.
Bout #6 Baron von Raschke & Jim Brunzell defeated Nick Bockwinkel & Rogue by submission when Raschke submitted Bockwinkel with the claw at 7:10 -no real explanation why Rogue was teaming with Bockwinkel, except that his henchmen are busy in the next bout. When things didn't go Rogue's way he walked out on his partner, and that left Bockwinkel to the mercy of his opponents.
Bout #7 RCW Tag Team Title Match Bob Orton Jr & Mike Lozansky defeated Soultaker & Ben Bassarab by pinfall when Lozansky pinned Bassarab after a flying crucifix at 10:26 [Orton & Lozansky retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] -Soultaker and Bassarab were a bit thrown off their game when Bockwinkel did no show up in their corner after submitting to Raschke in the previous match. They exhibited a lack of teamwork, cohesion, and even double teaming. Still, it was a hard fought even match but in the end Lozansky got the drop on Bassarab ducking under a clothesline attempt and then taking him down with the old Destroyer's finishing move to pick up the duke.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Dirty White Boy defeated Vendetta by disqualification for use of a foreign object 13:43 [Vendetta retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] -Vendetta controlled most of the match, at least the first 10 minutes, although DWB did have some advantages. However, the champ couldn't put away DWB and the challenger started to take over the bout thanks to cheating, chokes, and general heelish activity. Finally DWB orchestrated a ref bump so he could retrieve the ring bell and came off the top rope ~waffling~ Vendetta, knocking him out cold. Luckily the shot was seen by Buddy Lane who called for the DQ.
River City Wrestling #502 August 15, 1992 Winnipeg, Manitoba Opening Bout: Joe & Paul Gauthier defeated Paul Youngbear & Portugese Manowar by pinfall when Joe pinned Youngbear following a double slingshot suplex at 6:22 -rare tag team match as an opener, but then again its basically two curtain jerker teams
Bout #2 Emerald Dragon defeated Kid Gallahad by submission to the STF at 8:10 -an upset for the newcomer, and two straight wins. Gallahad was a sore loser though and attacked him after the match.
Bout #3 Brett Como and Mike Lozansky battled to a double countout at 10:04 -not really an over heated double countout, just two guys who couldn't afford a clean loss, but both could have used a clean victory.
Bout #4 Jerry Lynn defeated Ben Bassarab (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by disqualification for outside interference (Soultaker) at 6:37 -The match was not completely lost for Bassarab, but when it got in doubt Soultaker came down to the ring, entered, and attacked Lynn. J.W. Storm made the save.
Bout #5 #1 Contenders Match Sebastien Rikard & Archangel defeated Harley Tragger & Troy Galveston by submission when Rikard submitted Galveston with a figure-four at 8:44 -Galveston has had 2 injuries already this year, and at least one of them was to the leg, so when he submitted fairly easily it might not have raised too many eyebrows. However, Tragger seemed to question him after the match a little more than Galveston appreciated.
Bout #6 Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) and J.W. Storm battled to a no-contest at 3:45 -Didn't take too long for the tempers to flare in this from their match a month ago and from the Lynn/Bassarab match eariler. And predictably Lynn and Bassarab ended up joining the fray.
Bout #7 North American Women's Title Match Red Light Street Match Cynthia Rothrock defeated Beverlee Hills by pinfall after a spinning heel kick at 10:17 [Cynthia Rothrock Won the North American Women's Title] -the billing was much more hyped then the actual match, the street match part being a no dq - no countout, while the red light part came from the ladies coming out with fishnets etc under their wrestling gear (strictly PG). With the street fight rules Rothrock actually had a level playing field and took the champ apart a piece at a time.
Bout #8 Bob Orton Jr defeated Nick Bockwinkel by pinfall after a piledriver at 8:40 -two old friends, two old enemies locked up. Attempted interference by Soultaker was cut off by Mike Lozansky. in the end Bockwinkel ate crow as well as the canvas mat.
Bout #9 RCW Heritage Title Match Baron von Raschke (/w Jim Brunzell) defeated Rogue (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by submission to the clawhold at 7:55 [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title Match] There was almost as much action outside the ring with Jim Brunzell and Nick Bockwinkel as there was inside the ring. Rogue seems very rattled since losing the title and this allegiance with Nick Bockwinkel was short as Rogue waved him off after the match and left alone. Rogue also submitted fairly easy to the clawhold, after about 3 seconds in the hold.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Dirty White Boy defeated Vendetta by pinfall after a chokeslam at 16:12 [Dirty White Boy won the RCW Heavyweight Title] Excellent match. Not a lot of fans or pundits probably believed that Dirty White Boy would walk out of this match with the strap, but that's why they lace 'em up. As expected DWB went dirty right away with a rake to the eyes, and a couple closed fists. But when he tried to smash the champ's head off the top buckle the Haitian stuck his foot against the second buckle to stop the move, then smashed DWB's head into the buckle, turned him around and peppered him with forearm smashes. Vendetta worked over the challenger with a hiptoss, a couple variations of a front facelock, then nailed two dropkicks. DWB took a powder after the second dropkick to regroup outside the ring. DWB played games instead of entering the ring, and then when coming back inside the ring he used a bit of sneaky ingenuity to gain the advantage - he pretended to throw a handful of something into the champ's face, and when Vendetta raised his hands out of instinct to protect his face from nothing but air, DWB nailed him with a shoulder to the gut. He then ran Vendetta's head along the top rope to rope burn him, and when he reached the end he smashed Vendetta's head into the ring post as DWB leapt to the ground below. DWB rolled back inside the ring and went to work on the champ with forearm uppers, a clothesline, a running neck snack, a reverse neckbreaker, pin attempt for a 2 count. DWB slowed the match down with an abdominal stretch, then a side headlock. The challenger lost control of the match again when he telegraphed a back body drop and Vendetta slid under, stopped, and reaching up, punched DWB in the face. He then rolled him up in a cradle for a 2 count. On the break each man in turn ducked a clothesline attempt, Vendetta kicked DWB in the gut, went for a DDT, but DWB pushed him off, Vendetta went for another kick to the gut, DWB grabbed the foot, and Vendetta nailed him with an enzuigiri, covered and got a 2 count. The match now spilled outside the ring where referee Buddy Lane gave them a lot of latitude instead of throwing the match out. Once they got back into the ring nothing had been gained, and they traded punches and kicks, with Vendetta getting the better of it. The champ then chose to work over the lower back of DWB with forearms, then stomps, and then tried for a Boston crab finisher to no avail. The champ changed tactics and nailed a pumphandle slam and a hanging vertical suplex, but again only got the 2 count. Vendetta went to the second buckle, came off with a flying elbowsmash...but DWB rolled out of the way. The challenger kicked away at the legs of the champ, then took him down with a reverse double leg dropping the champ on his face. A leglock allowed a rest before the champ made it to the ropes. Vendetta fought back as they exchanged kicks and punches again. When the champ tried to bulldog DWB coming out of the corner, DWB threw him off, then caught him square with a superkick to the jaw as the champ tried to regain his feet. DWB then picked up the champ and hit his chokeslam finisher...covered, count of 2. Nailed a second chokeslam, covered, count of 2. The challenger then nailed a wheelbarrow suplex, followed it up with a 3rd chokeslam, covered and got the 1, 2, 3!! New Champion!! Big upset and a short reign for RCW's most popular wrestler.
River City Wrestling #503 August 29, 1992 Winnipeg, Manitoba
"Heartbreakers Edition" filmed for PPV and direct to video release. Opening Bout Tiffany Brannigan and Keisha battled to a no-contest at 3:20 -Beverlee Hills came out to interfere, and she was then followed by Cynthia Rothrock. The match was thrown out with all 4 women brawling in the ring. Then out came Hollywood Jeanne Basone, followed by Lady X, etc..until the ring was filled with all the ladies that are on the card tonight. Finally Commissioner Jim Brunzell got on the mic and offered to double the prize for tonight's Battle Royale to $10,000 if the ladies would just restore order. It took another minute but with a bigger payday at stake the girls eventually dispersed.
Bout #2 Corrie & Tawney England defeated Pink Demon & Purple Demon by pinfall when Corrie pinned Purple after a Hairplane spin at 5:51 -easy match for the RCW HoF'er England sisters and hey there's a new color of Demon in addition to Red, Black, and Pink.
Bout #3 Desiree Petersen and K.C. Houston battled to a double disqualification at 8:09 -familiarity breeds contempt, and these two might just know each other a bit too much
Bout #4 Sweet Georgia Brown defeated Nasty Linda Dallas by pinfall after a release German suplex at 10:55 -Nasty did nasty things to Sweet Georgia Brown (Jacqueline Moore) and controlled most of this match. However, the last 2 minutes were SGB being totally fed up and taking to to Dallas with a hyper level of intensity that had the fans eating out of the palm of her hand. In the end she nailed a spear, and then a nice release German suplex for the win.
Bout #5 Terri Power defeated Lady X by pinfall after a snap suplex from the second buckle at 9:36 -another match where the face (Power) had to overcome early punishment from a dominating opponent. The only difference was that Lady X mostly used wear down moves and kept the crowd out of it. Power made her comeback and nailed a hair-pull snapmare, a very loud Savate kick, then her finisher. After the bout however Lady X attacked Power, threw her out of the ring and then smashed her head first into the ringpost, before security came out to restore order.
Bout #6 Hollywood Jeanne Basone defeated Misty Blue Simmes by pinfall after a piledriver at 12:14 -two former RCW women champions met one on one, although the RCW links were not mentioned due to the nature of the PPV audience. This bout went back and forth but heel Basone had to continually cheat to keep even. Finally Basone had to orchestrate a ref bump which allowed her to get a steel chair and ~waffle~ Simmes, then nail her with a piledriver for good measure.
Co-Main Event North American Women's Title Match Red Light Street Fight Cynthia Rothrock defeated Beverlee Hills by pinfall after a spinning heel kick at 11:30 [Cynthia Rothrock retained the North American Women's Title] -Pretty much the same bout as two weeks earlier, maybe the live crowd caught on, but there were enough subtle differences mostly playing up to the camera for PPV to keep the fans guessing. Prior to the match a promo ran for Rothrock emphasizing her Hollywood screen career as well. Maybe it was that promo causing jealousy, but after the match Hollywood Jeanne Basone came out and attacked Rothrock with her own title belt, leaving her lying.
Co-Main Event 15-Woman Over the Top Battle Royale - $10,000 purse (Cynthia Rothrock could not compete due to injuries sustained earlier) order of elimination and (who eliminated them) 15. Purple Demon (Pink Demon) 0:05 14. Pink Demon (Bevrlee Hills) 0:09 13. K.C. Houston (Desiree Petersen, Sweet Georgia Brown, Beverlee Hills) 2:23 12. Lady X (Misty Blue Simmes) 4:15 11. Corrie Englad (Beverlee Hills, Hollywood) 5:31 10. Nasty Linda Dallas (Tawney England, Sweet Georgia Brown) 7:08 9. Beverlee Hills (Tiffany Brannigan, Keisha) 8:12 8. Tiffany Brannigan (Keisha, Sweet Georgia Brown) 8:20 7. Desiree Petersen (Terri Power) 10:03 6. Keisha (Tawney England) 10:58 5. Tawney England (Hollywood) 12:27 4. Terri Power (Hollywood) 14:40 3. Misty Blue Simmes (Hollywood, Sweet Georgia Brown) 15:55 2. Hollywood Jeanne Basone (Sweet Georgia Brown) 18:32 Winner - Sweet Georgia Brown
-A star is born? Sweet Georgia Brown has the crowd 100% behind this little but powerful 5'3 dynamo from Memphis, Tennessee. -After the bout as SGB was being given a cheque and Hollywood was still complaining about hair pulling, Cynthia Rothrock came running in from the back, her head bandaged, and she attacked Hollywood from behind. She beat Hollywood around the ring until the former GLOW girl managed to escape and take off. Sweet Georgia Brown and Cynthia Rothrock, both who happen to be 5'3 shared a hug in the middle of the ring, one holding a title belt and the other a cheque, to the applause of the crowd.

River City Wrestling #504 September 12, 1992 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout: Barry Horowitz defeated Alleycat Anderson by pinfall after a bridging Northern Lights Suplex at 5:57 -premiere of "Winner" Barry Horowitz, who was set up as a face and received some real love from the crowd.
Bout #2 Rogue defeated Paul Youngbear by pinfall after an inverted DDT at 0:12 -how the mighty have fallen. Former RCW champion Rogue got the same treatment many former champs in RCW have received, having to go back to the start and climb the ladder again. Well he didn't waste anytime; collar elbow, knee to the gut, forearm uppercut, inverted DDT..pin.
Bout #3 Harley Tragger defeated Brett Como by pinfall after a powerbomb at 9:04 -solid outing for Como but he still came up a bit short. It was mentioned by the announcers that Tragger's partner Troy Galveston has left the territory and that Tragger will be pursuing fame and fortune on the singles circuit. Bout #4 Kid Gallahad defeated Emerald Dragon after a top rope missile dropkick at 7:08 -Gallahad got his revenge after Dragon upset him last card.
Bout #5 J.W. Storm & Jerry Lynn defeated Soultaker & Ben Bassarab (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall when Storm pinned Bassarab after a neckbreaker drop at 10:11 -good pace to this match with all 4 men taking turns giving and receiving. Bassarab was very frustrated after being pinned.
Bout #6 Cynthia Rothrock & Sweet Georgia Brown defeated Beverlee Hills & Hollywood Jeanne Basone by pinfall when Sweet Georgia Brown pinned Hills after a release German suplex at 11:51 -solid match with two thrown together teams. The heels fell into the usual cheat and distract the ref ploys. Once Rothrock & Brown got the momentum though they really went to work, especially on Beverlee Hills. In fact Hills tried to take a countout but Hollywood talked the ref into letting the match continue. She didn't do her partner any favours though as the beating continued until Brown nailed her finisher. After the match Hollywood attacked Hills for good measure.
Bout #7 RCW Tag Team Title Match Sebastien Rikard & Archangel defeated Bob Orton Jr & Mike Lozansky 2 falls to 1 in 17:33 [Rikard & Archangel Won the RCW Tag Team Titles] -Orton & Lozansky controlled the first 5 minutes of the match but couldn't put them away. Rikard played Ricky Morton but Archangel fared better. Archangel worked Lozansky over with a bearhug, a couple backbreakers, and a surfboard. He then put him in a torture rack but Orton came in and tackled Archangel to get the break. While referee Jurgen Hermann was putting Orton out of the ring Rikard came off the top rope with a knee to the head of Lozansky. Archangel nailed a piledriver and made the pin. -Archangel pinned Lozansky after a piledriver at 8:20 -The second fall started where the first left off, but eventually Lozansky made the hot tag to Orton. The veteran went to work on Rikard, and when Archangel tagged in the cowboy tackled him, reigned down punches from above, nailed a series of hip tosses, then speared him to the mat, for a 2 count. Rikard tried to come off the top rope illegally, but Orton moved out of the way and Rikard nailed Archangel in the head. Orton then nailed a piledriver and got the fall to even things up. -Orton Jr pinned Archangel after a piledriver at 12:34 -the third fall was a slobberknocker with all 4 men making quick tags and illegally breaking up any tag attempts. The match went outside the ring where all 4 men brawled. Three men made it back in but Orton had taken the worst of it and was slower. Nick Bockwinkel ran in and nailed Orton with a knee to the back, then hit a piledriver outside the ring to Orton. Back inside Hermann was distracted putting Rikard out of the ring and this allowed Archangel to pull out a roll of coins and nail Lozansky in the head. Just to finish the pattern for the night Archangel then nailed a piledriver on Lozansky and pinned him. Thus ends a 9 month title reign by the team of Orton & Lozansky. -Archangel pinned Mike Lozansky after a piledriver at 17:33
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Dirty White Boy defeated Vendetta by pinfall when his shoulders were counted while in the figure-four at 15:02 [Dirty White retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] Vendetta started strong trying to get his title belt, beating DWB from corner to corner. The champ tried to escape the ring a couple of times but Vendetta caught him trying to get out and pulled him back in. After a pair of dropkicks he got a 2 count, then a flying elbowsmash yielded another 2 count. Changing tactics the former champ worked an abdominal stretch, then an STF, but couldn't get the win. Finally he made a mistake going to the top. The champ tossed him off the top and Vendetta landed awkwardly on his knee. DWB went straight to work on Vendetta kicking away at the knee, then putting on a knee lock. A couple kneebreakers, followed by a pair of running clotheslines yielded a 2 count. DWB went for a belly to belly suplex but it was blocked by the champ who filpped the champ off and worked an armbreaker. Back on their feet the two men went at it with old fisticuffs. The match went outside and they took turns whipping each other into the ring barricade. Back inside DWB put on a sleeperhold which was broken with a jawbreaker. Vendetta went to work with a surfboard but after failing to get the win he followed up with a fireman's carry - but his leg gave out. DWB went back to work on the knee, this time though he used the ring apron and ring post to inflict extra damage. The Haitian though made a comeback, but when he went to put the champ into the DDT, DWB struck out with a knee to knee attack. After recovering from his own knee pain DWB put a figure-four on Vendetta who fought it as long as he could, getting close to the ropes only to be pulled back and the figure four put back on. This time Vendetta could not escape and his shoulders were counted down. -Post-Match: DWB was leaving the ringside area with his title belt, and Vendetta was being helped by referee Buddy Lane when DWB got that look in his eyes. So he slid back into the ring and attacked Vendetta, going right after the knee. He left the ring and retrieved a chair, put it across the knee...and things looked like they would go from bad to worse when Rogue ran in from the back. However, Rogue removed the chair and swung at DWB. It was a glancing blow and DWB took the damage, left the ring with his belt, and called it a day. Rogue immediately left the ring as well, leaving through the crowd.
River City Wrestling #505 September 26, 1992 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout Brett Como defeated Barry Horowitz by pinfall after a somsersault clothesline at 6:22 -This one could have gone either way but the heel Como picked up a much needed win for his career.
Bout #2 Rogue defeated Emerald Dragon by pinfall after an inverted DDT at 0:20 -Rogue continues to climb the ladder back to the top, and doing it quickly. In fact this match was so quick that by the time Vendetta came down to confront Rogue for saving him last card his arch-nemesis was gone.
Bout #3 Luna Vachon defeated Ashley Nicole after a moonsault at 4:26 -two premieres. Luna Vachon is a hard nosed combatant with famous roots but made sure the fans knew that she was not to be cheered. The loser Ashley Nicole was a tall, thin combatant, easy on the eyes but not with much skill.
Bout #4 Harley Tragger & Jerry Lynn defeated Moondogs Rex & Spot by disqualification for double teaming at 9:17 -the Moondogs are a chaotic and vicious duo but Tragger and Lynn fought fire with fire and caused the Dogs to lose their temper, refuse to follow ref instructions and get disqualified. Unfortunately for Tragger and Lynn the Dogs used their dog bones to beat the heck out of them after the match until security broke it up.
Bout #5 Vendetta and Ben Bassarab (/w Nick Bockwinkel) battled to a 20-minute draw -Bassarab attacked Vendetta before the bell could sound so was able to control the first 3 minutes or so of the match with a fast pace, never letting up. However, as soon as he did let up Vendetta took over the match. The next 10 minutes were all Vendetta, but the determination and courage of Bassarab (and the distraction of Bockwinkel) managed to keep him alive. Finally Bassarab made a spirited comeback, taking the match to the mat with a front chancery, crossface, and a Boston crab. At this point Bassarab wasn't really trying to win the match, just recover and survive. As the announcers made the call that only 5 minutes remained the two men traded punches, kicks, and then took the match outside. The match went in and out of the ring now. Vendetta almost won by countout after nailing a spinebuster slam on the floor, but Bockwinkel rolled his charge back inside. Vendetta nailed a belly to back suplex, a pair of running legdrops, and then a sidewalk slam but only got a 2 count. As it was announced there was 1 minute left in the match Vendetta set up for the inverted DDT but Bockwinkel reached in and grabbed the leg of Vendetta sending him off balance; undetected by the referee. Both men staggered to their feet, Vendetta tried for a kick to the face but Bassarab blocked it, spun him around and clotheslined him to the mat. Bassarab came off the ropes with a running kneesmash, then followed up with a German suplex for a 2 count. Bassarab then came off the ropes with a crossbody...but Vendetta caught him...powerslammed him to the mat...time ran out. We have a rare draw. After the match Bassarab shocked everyone by offering a handshake to Vendetta. The former champion seemed in doubt, especially with Bockwinkel by Bassarab's side, but he carefully extended a hand and the two men shook hands.
Bout #6 #1 Contenders Match J.W. Storm defeated Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by disqualification for outside interference (Nick Bockwinkel) at 7:43 -Soultaker controlled most of this bout but Storm made a couple comebacks. However, Bockwinkel lost his patience and having already been warned once, he tripped up Storm coming off the ropes but got caught.
Bout #7 North American Women's Title Match Cynthia Rothrock and Hollywood Jeanne Basone battled to a no-contest at 9:06 [Cynthia Rothrock retained the North American Women's Title] -spirited bout would be an understatement as Rothrock tried to use her martial arts skills and keep the fight at a distance while Basone wanted to pull hair, choke, rake nails, etc. Before the match could be decided however, and it was still in doubt, Luna Vachon hit the ring and joined the fray attacking both women. The match was thrown out.
Bout #8 RCW Tag Team Title Match Sebastien Rikard & Archangel defeated Bob Orton Jr. & Mike Lozansky by pinfall when Archangel pinned Orton after a full nelson slam at 12:13 [Rikard & Archangel retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] -well it wasn't really a clean victory, but clean enough, just your every day typical cheating. The finish though was clean and it looks like Orton & Lozansky have failed to recapture their tag titles.
Main Event Title vs Title - Heavyweight vs Heritage Title Dirty White Boy defeated Baron von Raschke by countout at 8:20 [Dirty White Boy retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title] -DWB tried all his usual shenanigans, but the Baron was able to shake most of them off and keep coming. Then DWB played hide and seek for a while which caused the Baron to lose his patience and lead him to get kicked in the head while entering the ring. DWB finally got a sustained advantage but it only lasted for a couple minutes when Baron made a comeback again. The match spilled outside the ring where Nick Bockwinkel came out and this drew he ire of Raschke. The German went after Bockwinkel chasing him around the ring, and he walked right into a chokeslam from DWB. The Heavyweight champion slid back into the ring and Raschke was counted out. After the match the fans were sent home happy though when Raschke exacted a measure of revenge on both Bockwinkel and DWB.

The annual Battle Royale!! Winner gets a Heavyweight Title Shot. Appearing on the card making his RCW debut is former Pro Football great Marc Gastineau.
Opening Bout Knight Rider defeated Alleycat Anderson by pinfall after a running necksnap at 6:20 -Knight Rider is 6'1 270 lbs, and calls himself the "King of the Battle Royal" even though he looks like a raw rookie.
Bout #2 Vendetta defeated Ben Bassarab (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall after a DDT at 18:22 -these two followed up their 20 minute time limit draw with another great match. Vendetta though controlled 80% of this match but just could not put Bassarab away. However, Bassarab made a mistake coming off the top rope which Vendetta turned into a powerslam. But even that was not enough to get the pin and Vendetta had to nail his finisher to end it. After the match Vendetta gave Bassarab props and offered a handshake. Bassarab hesitated at first, but then accepted, only to have Bockwinkel nail Vendetta from behind. Bassarab hesitated but ended up joining his manager in laying the boots to the former RCW champion. This may hurt the Haitian's chances in the battle royale, not just the beat down, but the long match.
Bout #3 #1 Tag Team Contenders Match Harley Tragger & Jerry Lynn defeated Moondogs Rex & Spot by pinfall when Tragger pinned Rex after a powerbomb at 9:06 -Tragger & Lynn just seemed better then the Moondogs despite the 'dogs having a lot of international experience.
Bout #4 North American Women's Title Match - Triangle Match Cynthia Rothrock defeated Hollywood and Luna Vachon when Rothrock pinned Vachon after a spinning heel kick at 7:31 [Cynthia Rothrock retained the North American Women's Title] -high paced and violent match with Vachon living up to the family name and lifting the intensity of the match. However in the end Rothrock laid out Hollywood by bouncing her off the top rope, and then dumping her face first out of the ring, then nailing Vachon with her finisher.
Bout #5 RCW Heavyweight Title Match Dirty White Boy defeated J.W. Storm by pinfall after a chokeslam at 10:37 [Dirty White Boy retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] -not many people actually thought Storm would win the title tonight, but then again not many thought DWB would be able to not only beat Vendetta for the title, but also beat him in a rematch, and survive the challenge of Heritage champion Baron von Raschke; so who knows what may happen. In fact the powerful challenger controlled the first few minutes but couldn't handle the veteran cheating of the champ. And that's why he's the champ.
Main Event 20-Man Battle Royal Winner Gets RCW Heavyweight Title Shot by order of elimination (who eliminated them) and time
20. Knight Rider (Marc Gastineau) 0:50 19. Rogue (Vendetta, Ben Bassarab) 3:39 18. Mike Lozansky (Brett Como, Barry Horowitz) 5:09 17. Alleycat Anderson (Marc Gastineau) 5:25 16. Bout #5 Mike Lozansky and Brett Como battled to a no-contest at 3:30 -before the bout could begin, as Lozansky was saving Lightning Kid from Gallahad in the last bout, Como also came down for his but and took the opportunity to attack Lozansky. It became a brawl pitting Lozansky and Lightning Kid against Como and Gallahad. After the officials managed to sort that out the animosity was so high between Lozansky and Como that it was hard to contain the match inside. Then Gallahad returned to attack Lozansky and was followed by Lightning Kid making the save, and another 4 man brawl, which was enough to have the bout thrown out.
Bout #6 Vendetta defeated "Dirty White Boy" Barry Horowitz by pinfall after a DDT at 7:31 -So Barry Horowitz turned on the fans before the bout, doing an interview with the Heavyweight champion Dirty White Boy, saying he was signing a pact with the champion to watch his back, and from now on he would be known as Dirty White Boy Barry Horowitz; and he dressed accordingly in jean shorts and wife beater shirt. However, inside the ring he couldn't get it done against a superior opponent.
Bout #7 Ben Bassarab defeated Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by disqualification for outside interference at 12:54 -after a hard fought match Bassarab now with the backing of the fans was on the verge of victory when Bockwinkel pulled his feet out from under him. It was a 2 on 1 attack following the match until Vendetta came out to make the save.
Bout #8 RCW Tag Team Title Match Sebastien Rikard & Archangel defeated Harley Tragger & Jerry Lynn by pinfall when Archangel pinned Lynn after a full nelson slam at 13:23 [Rikard & Archangel retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] -pretty good showing for Tragger and Lynn, both men had good matches individually. However, the tag champs are clicking as a team right now and can stay alive long enough to take advantage of a mistake and then finish. Lynn took the loss here but is still owed a Heavyweight title shot next card.
Main Event RCW Heritage Title Match Baron von Raschke defeated Rogue by disqualification for use of a foreign object at 8:04 [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title] -Rogue had been on a real roll as of late, and Raschke has held the title for a good stretch, so people seemed to be anticipating the title changing hands. However, when Raschke refused to lose and willed himself to stay in the match, the enigmatic challenger lost his cool and ended up using a steel chair to ~waffle~ the German and get intentionally disqualified. Rogue nailed Raschke two more times before Jim Brunzell made the save.

River City Wrestling #508 November 7, 1992 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout: J.W. Storm defeated Joe Gauthier by pinfall after a neckbreaker drop at 4:30 -squash match
Bout #2: Steve Stryker defeated Knight Rider by pinfall after a pumphandle slam at 8:11 -good competitive match, but filled with rest holds and "psychology" to stretch it out
Bout #3 Vendetta defeated Todd Tork by pinfall after a DDT at 2:54 -squash match, with Todd Tork making his debut (5'7 170 lbs Winnipeg). -however the big thing was when Mad Dog Manny Silva made his return to RCW in style by entering the ring and attacking Vendetta from behind. Two former champions went at it, but Silva got the better of Vendetta because of the early jump. Tork joined in, so Silva held Vendetta's arms, Tork wound up...and Vendetta moved at the last second, and Tork nailed Silva. Vendetta then took out Tork with a clothesline, but when he turned around Silva nailed him with a clothesline of his own, and followed it with a wheelbarrow suplex, before leaving the ring.
Bout #4 Harley Tragger pinned "Dirty White Boy" Barry Horowitz by pinfall after a powerbomb at 5:40 -For the second straight card since turning "Dirty", Horowitz got his butt handed to him. He looked like he was waiting for someone, presumably Dirty White Boy, to come down to the ring, but no one ever did.
Bout #5 #1 Contenders Match - Winner Gets Title Shot at Anniversary Show
Lightning Kid & Mike Lozansky defeated Kid Gallahad & Brett Como by pinfall when Lightning Kid pinned Brett Como after a spinning heel kick at 8:45 -Kid & Lozansky have a lot of chemistry, and Lozansky of course just came off a decent stretch as the tag champs with Bob Orton.
Bout #6 Baron von Raschke & Jim Brunzell defeated Rogue & Samoan Hitman by pinfall when Brunzell pinned Samoan after a flying dropkick at 7:23 -Premiere for Samoan Hitman, presumably brought in by Rogue as a mystery partner. Hitman looked and was built like a typical Samoan, like Sika or Afa but a bit smaller in stature (Indy sized). Rogue did quite well but seemed also content to stay away from Raschke and let Samoan take most of the first team reps. One spot was when Raschke put the dreaded claw on the Samoan but it had little effect on the thick coconut skull of the Polynesian. However, one of the commissioner's patented dropkicks to the jaw was enough to get the win.
Bout #7 Nick Bockwinkel & Soultaker defeated Bob Orton Jr & Ben Bassarab by countout when Orton was counted out of the ring at 9:49 -lots of bad blood between the participants as Bassarab is a former Bockwinkel Talent Agency client. Bassarab acquitted himself quite well against Soultaker and he and Orton controlled most of the match with Bockwinkel not wanting to participate much. The end came when Orton had Soultaker set up for a piledriver, but Bockwinkel reached into the ring, grabbed the tights of Orton and pulled him backward to break the hold. Orton went after Bockwinkel, punching him off the apron, and then beating him from pillar to post outside the ring. Unfortunately for the good guys Orton was the legal man and Bockwinkel was not, so Orton was counted out.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Dirty White Boy defeated Jerry Lynn by pinfall after a chokeslam at 11:47 [Dirty White Boy retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] -DWB attacked Lynn before the bell could sound, so Lynn wrestled, or more like took punishment for the first 3 minutes or so while still wearing his warm up jacket. Finally Lynn made the hot comeback with fists o' plenty, and off came the warm up jacket which he literally tried to shove down the champ's throat. Lynn poured it on with a pair of atomic drops, a slingshot backelbow, a Northern lights suplex, and a piledriver, but could not get the win. DWB made a short comeback thanks to a fireman's carry into a slam. However, when Lynn fought back and took over the match again, Barry Horowitz came down to the apron to distract Lynn, but before he could have any real effect Harley Tragger came down and dragged him off the apron and beat him to the back. Lynn poured it on once again with a pair of running legdrops, a vertical suplex, and a splash off the top rope which only yielded a two count. Lynn nailed a springboard dropkick and got the 1, 2, 3. Lynn celebrated but Lane noticed DWB's foot over the bottom rope and has to tell Lynn the bad news. DWB of course seizes the opportunity to knee Lynn in the back and drive him into the buckle. He followed up with a hotshot and then the chokeslam and picked up the victory. Lynn was very frustrated following the match but Commissioner Jim Brunzell came down to announce that Lynn deserved another title shot because of the mix-up and will get it at the anniversary show, and to avoid any further bad luck, it will be best 2 out of 3 falls. Brunzell also announced the next 4 entrants into the Women's battle royale, Ashley Nicole, Beverlee Hills, April Cummings, and a newcomer to RCW, Molly McShane. Also, based on what happened tonight Mad Dog Manny Silva will face Vendetta at the big show!

River City Wrestling #509November 21, 1992 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout Dumas Walker defeated Dean Ducharme by submission to the Boston Crab at 6:19 -premiere of two curtain jerkers
Bout #2 J.W. Storm defeated Brett Como by pinfall after a neckbreaker drop at 3:37 -surprisingly quick outing for Storm
Bout #3 Kid Gallahad defeated Steve Stryker by pinfall after a missile dropkick at 7:05 -Stryker had his moments but Gallahad is more of a mid-carder while Stryker is a prelim guy. Thus ends Stryker's mini-run.
Bout #4 Todd Tork defeated Manny Silva by disqualification for choking at 1:52 -Silva demanded this match because of the way last card Tork ended up hitting Silva when Vendetta moved out of the way. Silva didn't wait for the opening bout and flirted with disqualification for the entire short match. Finally Silva used his trademark move of wrapping the top two ropes around the neck of his opponent and choking him, even hanging him, feet dangling outside the ring. This caused him to be disqualified by referee Buddy Lane, but still Silva continued. Vendetta came to make the save, but the first thing he did was go to the aid of Tork which left him open to being blind sided by Silva. The mad Hawaiian laid in a beat down on Vendetta which will just make their match at the Anniversary show that much more anticipated.
Bout #5 Lightning Kid defeated Sebastien Rikard by pinfall after a spinning heel kick at 6:30 -The tag title match-up for the Anniversary show is previewed here with two singles matches. Kid did his part beating Rikard despite being more on the receiving end then the giving end, but nailed his finisher out of the blue.
Bout #6 Archangel defeated Mike Lozansky by pinfall after a full nelson slam at 9:22 -very even match-up in the other half of the tag team preview. Lozansky made a mistake telegraphing a flying cross body block which Archangel turned into a powerslam, then hit his finisher to even things up between the two teams.
Bout #7 Rogue defeated Ben Bassarab by pinfall after an inverted DDT at 13:38 -fantastic match between two guys who have important career matches coming up at the anniversary show. Both men took turns with long advantages, holding the edge for 5 minutes or so each. In the end Rogue rolled out of the way of a diving headbutt, then hit his finisher to pick up a big win.
Bout #8 Jerry Lynn & Harley Tragger defeated Dirty White Boy & Barry Horowitz by submission when Lynn submitted Horowitz with the Gory special at 7:42 -Horowitz loved being in the main event, but was obviously the weak link in this match.
Bout #9 RCW Heritage Title Match Baron von Raschke defeated Samoan Hitman by pinfall after an inverted DDT at 6:27 [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title] -Raschke controlled early, but the Samoan made a strong comeback. Raschke though was tough and fought back, but when he locked in the clawhold, again the Samoan with his thick head managed to get to the ropes for the break. Raschke was stunned and this allowed the Samoan to gain back control of the match. However, at this point Rogue came down to ringside, but this distracted the Samoan and referee Jurgen Hermann. That was all the advantage the Baron needed to take back control, and then pointing at his next opponent Rogue, he nailed the Samoan Hitman with Rogue's finisher the inverted DDT. After the bout Rogue looked like he was going to enter the ring and do battle but decided instead to take the easy way out. Seemed like Rogue may have purposely sabotaged the Samoan's title shot to preserve his own at the Anniversary show.
Main Event Soultaker (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. by pinfall after a running big boot at 9:25 -hard hitting, slobberknocker, but even if he is older and smaller then his opponent Orton is backroads tough and held his own. But of course Bockwinkel played cat and mouse and drove Orton to distraction. Finally as he stuck his head through the ropes Soultaker took him out with a legdrop across the middle rope. A German suplex, inverted atomic drop, and then a running big boot got the rest of the job done. After the bout Bockwinkel rolled into the ring and set up Orton for a piledriver. Orton blocked it, so Soultaker aided by pulling up on the legs of Orton...until Ben Bassarab ran into the ring and clotheslined first Soultaker, then Bockwinkel. A 4 man brawl ensued to end the night.

River City Wrestling #510 "Lucky 13" - 13th Anniversary Show December 5, 1992 Winnipeg Convention Centre Winnipeg, Manitoba
Bell Time 7:05pm
note: The "fan favorite" is listed first and the "villain" second in the lineup.
Opening Bout No Disqualification - No Countout Harley Tragger (6'2 255 lbs., Manhattan, Kansas) ("Wanted Dead or Alive" Bon Jovi) vs Leatherface (5'10" 263 lbs., Texas) (Theme From Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Leatherface brought a chair with him to the ring, so Tragger met him half way up the aisle. Tragger tried to wrestle the chair away but the masked freak laid in a boot to the groin then smashed him twice with the chair. Despite it being no DQ referee Buddy Lane took the opportunity to take away the chair from the villain. After a few more punches outside the ring the action went inside. Leatherface went to work with eye gouges, chokes, and punches. He bit the head of Tragger opening it up. Finally the biker had enough and head butted Leatherface, used a single leg takedown and then dropped a leg on the groin. An anklelock was applied and then turned into a Boston crab. Tragger tossed Leatherface to the corner when he refused to submit and laid in a series of shoulderblocks. After a belly to belly suplex Tragger covered and got a 2 count. He made his first mistake by leaving the ring in search of a weapon. He found a wrench from under the ring but when he came back in the ring Leatherface had already produced two pairs of brass knux from his trunks and laid in a jab and cross combo that knocked Tragger right out of the ring. Leatherface tossed Tragger over the guardrail and the action spilled into the crowd. The two fought up the stairs in the stands, and then Tragger tossed Leatherface down and he rolled dangerously down the stairs. Tragger was bleeding profusely, but rolled Leatherface back into the ring, but not before taking one pair of his brass knux off. Tragger went to the top rope and used a fistdrop from the toprope with the brass knux to gain the victory. [Harley Tragger defeated Leatherface by pinfall after a top rope fistdrop with brass knuckles at 8:52]
Bout #2 J.W. Storm (6'5" 290 lbs., Los Angeles, California) ("Ridin' The Storm Out" REO Speedwagon) vs Samoan Hitman (5'10" 270 lbs., The Isle of Samoa) ("Stranger in a Strange Land" Iron Maiden) Hitman started the match strong with chops and kicks, and then a nerve hold. Storm got to the ropes but that didn't stop the Hitman from going after his ribs. When Jurgen Hermann tried to get in the way he got shoved by the Hitman. Storm got a temporary reprieve when Hermann got in the face of the Samoan. The Californian fought back with forearm uppercuts, a bodyslam, elbowdrop, and then a front facelock. Storm made a mistake by trading head punches which the hard headed Samoan shook off. The two traded shots back and forth but the Samoan got the advantage and applied a crossface. After getting a break Storm went to the legs of the Samoan chopping him down, but when he went for the neckbreaker drop his opponent shoved him off. The Hitman nailed a couple chops to the kidneys, nailed a Samoan drop and got a 2 count. Then he went to finish it with a headbutt, but Storm blocked it with his hands, turned him around and nailed the neckbreaker drop and got the 3 count. [J.W. Storm defeated Samoan Hitman by pinfall after the neckbreaker drop at 7:14]
Bout #3 Lenny Thompson & Shark Bait (combined wt. of 480 lbs.) ("Pump Uo the Jam" Technotronic) vs. Kid Gallahad & Brett Como (combined wt. 418 lbs.) ("Diamond Dogs" David Bowie) Thompson could best be described as an awkward giant at 6'10" and only 280 lbs., but when able to exert his strength dominated the match. On the other hand Shark Bait was pretty much useless against his fast double teaming opponents. In the end while Shark Bait was trying for his second hot tag of the match Thompson lost his temper. Instead of making the tag he left the ring, grabbed a steel chair, entered the ring and ~waffled~ both his opponents, and then his own partner Shark Bait. Thompson left looking disgusted. [Kid Gallahad & Brett Como defeated Lenny Thompson & Shark Bait by disqualification when Thompson used a steel chair at 6:55]
Bout #4 Ben Bassarab (5'10" 211 lbs., Calgary, Alberta) ("You've Got Another Thing Comin'" Judas Priest) vs Soultaker (6'6" 330 lbs., New Orleans, LA) ("Godslayer" White Zombie) (/w Nick Bockwinkel) Bassarab started strong with a stick and move attack, and laying on some armbars, a leglock, and a legspreader. However, holding down the weight of Soultaker started to take its toll on the smaller man. This allowed Soultaker to make a big comeback and he literally tossed Bassarab around the ring, and beat him from pillar to post. In fact one shot to the buckle missed and Bassarab's head hit steel post and split open. Despite that, or in reaction to that, Bassarab lost his temper and began to go to the eyes and throat of his opponent causing a big cheer from the crowd but admonishment from the ref Jurgen Hermann. The tactic worked though as Soultaker became disorientated, clutching at his face. Bassarab kicked the legs out from under Soultaker, dropped a trio of spinning elbowdrops, followed by a very impressive German suplex, for a 2 count. Bassarab climbed to the top rope but Bockwinkel grabbed onto his ankle to stop him from finishing off the match. This brought out Cowboy Bob Orton who went right after Bockwinkel. Bassarab nailed a pair of boots to the gut of Soultaker and looked ready for a spinning neckbreaker, but Soultaker pushed him off. Hermann had his back to the action yelling at Orton and Bockwinkel and got nailed from behind by Bassarab. This allowed Soultaker to run Bassarab head first into the ring post one more time, then nail a falling powerslam and pick up the win once he revived Hermann. [Soultaker defeated Ben Bassarab by pinfall after a falling powerslam at 6:51] Bout #5
Special Format: 10 Rounds (3 minute rounds) Brian Bosworth (6'2" 260 lbs) ("Dangerous" Doobie Brothers) vs Mark Gastineau (6'5" 275 lbs., Ardmore, Oklahoma) ("The Final Countdown" Europe) Round 1: Bosworth showed off his limited wrestling skills (compared to Gastineau's no ability) and grounded him. Gastineau fought back but when he used closed fists he was stopped by referee Buddy Lane. This allowed Boz to shoot on him again and work over the right leg. Round 2: Boz went right after the leg and frustrated Gastineau. The slow pace of the match drew some jeers from the crowd. When the two men stood toe to toe again the former Jet Gastineau was at a disadvantage as he was having trouble standing on his right leg. Boz circled him and took him apart with chops, elbows, and kicks. Round 3: Gastineau let Boz come for him, back him into a corner, but then Mark hit him with an uppercut, turned him around and punished him in the corner with shoulderblocks. He then tossed him out of the ring and put him in a bearhug while slamming him back first into the ring apron. Buddy Lane elected to leave the ring and break it up instead of just calling for a countout. Gastineau got very upset with Lane and began to threaten him. This allowed Boz time to recover and he nailed a running knee to the back of Gastineau which drove him into Lane. The two then fought tooth and nail around ringside while Lane was knocked out. The bell rang for the end of the round but with no ref to break them up the two just continued to battle. Officials came out to wake up Lane and to break up the combatants. There was an extra long break between rounds as both men were read the riot act and Lane was checked on by a doctor. Round 4: The match reverted back to Boz working over Gastineau on the mat. Gastineau got in some ground work as well with a front chancery using his weight to keep Boz down. Round 5: Pace picked up with some criss-cross which saw Boz almost run into Lane, just stopping short. But when he did that and turned around Gastineau nailed him with a running spear. Only the vicinity to the ropes kept Boz alive on the subsequent pin attempt. Gastineau tried to finish off Boz with a piledriver but it was blocked, and then countered with a back body drop. Boz then nailed a pair of side kicks, a running clothesline, a short clothesline, and a side suplex to pick up the pin. [Brian Bosworth defeated Mark Gastineau by pinfall at 2:45 of Round 5]
Well it's been about an hour and fifteen minutes of action so far so it was time for the first 15 minute intermission to sell some T-shirts and over priced soda.
Bout #6 Battle of the Piledrivers - Only a pin after a piledriver is allowed - Special Guest Referee Jim Brunzell Cowboy Bob Orton Jr (6'1, 255 lbs., Kansas City, Kansas) (Theme From Rawhide) vs Nick Bockwinkel (5'11 245 lbs., Beverly Hills, California) ("Behind Blue Eyes" The Who) Before the bout could start our commissioner Jim Brunzell came to the ring with an announcement. If there was any outside interference in this match then the person interfering and the one for whom they were interfering for would be suspended from RCW. Furthermore, he has assigned himself to be the special guest referee for this bout and will take Jurgen Hermann's place. The crowd and Orton both cheered the news. Bockwinkel started strong after a go-behind from a test of strength and a waistlock takedown. However, Orton took the match over by pulling Bock's arms apart and putting on a hammerlock. After working the hammerlock he worked a side headlock, back hand chops, elbowsmashes, and then a powerslam for a 2 count. A rear facelock was applied but this allowed Bock time to lower his heart rate and ended up countering it and putting Muraco in first a side headlock, and then an armbar. Bock then went to work with a series of kicks, stomps, a boot choke while arguing with Brunzell, a series of hip tosses...and then Orton countered with a cloethesline that sent Bock head over tea kettle. Orton quickly set up Bock for a piledriver but the Blonde haired vet pushed the Cowboy off and then took a powder outside the ring. He took his time getting back into the ring, and then just slipped outside the far side of the ring. Orton was going to chase him but Brunzell stopped him. Brunzell then applied the count to Bock but counted it very quickly, causing a panic in Bock which had him slide back into the ring and right into the clutches of Orton. The Kansas City cowboy laid in a high knee lift, a forearm upper, then a running clothesline...he made the pin...but there was no count due to the match stipulations. Bock snuck in a punch to the throat, then took Orton down to the mat with him in a headscissors. After working that Bock took him down with a drop toe hold and worked the hold. Despite all the rest holds the fans were really into this match generating lots of heat. A couple arm drags, a couple dropkicks, and Bock set up Orton for the piledriver, but it was countered by a back bodydrop. The two now went toe to toe inside the ring, then outside, then back inside. Orton nailed a vertical suplex, then tried to follow up with the running bulldog but Bock pushed him off into the corner, and caught him coming back with a sleeperhold. Brunzell kept checking on the sleeper thinking it was a chokehold but couldn't catch his former AWA nemesis red handed. Finally Bock released the hold with Orton out cold. He set him up for the piledriver finisher but because Orton was out cold Brunzell put a stop to it holding Orton down. He called for the bell because Orton was unable to defend himself. Incredibly the commissioner said that because no piledriver and pin was counted he was calling this match a no-contest. Most of the crowd cheered this, although some did jeered the bad ending. [Bob Orton Jr and Nick Bockwinkel battled to a no-contest at 14:43]
Bout #7 Vendetta (6'4" 261 lbs, Port-au-Prince, Haiti) ("Redemption Song" Bob Marley & The Wailers) vs Mad Dog Manny Silva (5'11" 245 lbs., Hawaii) ("Mad Dog" Deep Purple) Because RCW has a tradition of putting title bouts as the featured bouts in a card, the fans were treated to a main event caliber match-up right in the heart of the lineup as there was no title on the line for these two top contenders. Both men went after each other before the bell could sound and traded punches and kicks. Silva got the better of it thanks to a chop to the throat and then took Vendetta over with a leg-capture suplex. After a reverse chinlock Silva went to town with a series of knees to the back of the Haitian. He then applied a pair of back breakers, and a sidewalk slam to get a 2 count. Frustrated Silva threw Vendetta out of the ring and continued to punish him outside. Back inside the worm finally turned when Silva went for a piledriver but it was countered by a back body drop. It took Vendetta a bit longer to complete his comeback but eventually out punched Silva and then delivered a fireman's carry into a slam. A pair of running legdrops, and then a standing moonsault yielded a two count. The former RCW champion continued to work on his advantage with a single leg Boston crab, and then a surfboard but could not get a submission. The two men then traded punches again, did a criss cross segment, then battled on the ring apron before spilling outside the ring. Vendetta once again gained the advantage and back inside nailed a flying clothesline for a 2 count, a double underhook suplex for a 2 count, and then when he went for his finisher DDT Silva managed to push him to the corner. Silva turned things around with a lowblow, which could have caused a DQ but referee Buddy Lane just gave Vendetta a bit more time to recover as he threatened Silva to keep away. Finally Silva couldn't take it any longer and attacked Vendetta in the corner, but the Haitian reversed it, throwing Silva into the corner, nailing a series of knees, then climbing to the second buckle to rain down punches to the skull. But when Vendetta tried for a monkey flip out of the corner Silva held on and tossed Vendetta out, then followed him with a running kneesmash. But when he tried for a second knee Vendetta turned it into a cradle for a 2 count that Silva rolled out of and put on his own inside cradle for 1, 2, grabbed a hand full of tights, and 3. A bit of an upset here. [Manny Silva defeated Vendetta by pinfall with an inside cradle (and a handful of tights) at 12:31]
Bout #8 RCW Tag Team Title Match Mike Lozansky & Lightning Kid (combined wt. 396 lbs.) ("Armageddon" Prism) vs Sebastien Rikard & Archangel (combined wt. 480 lbs. ) ("Screaming in the Night" Krokus) (champions) As could be expected the challengers used their speed and tenacity to take the early advantages, and whenever the champs tried to double team the challengers were right there to meet fire with fire. When long time inept official Jurgen Hermann tried to walk Lozansky out of the ring it allowed Archangel a chance to come in and make a double team; except Lighting Kid springboarded off Rikard and took Archangel down with flying headscissors and then did the same to Rikard. The challengers cut the ring in half and worked over Rikard but could not get a pin. Finally by grabbing the tights of Lozansky and propelling him out of the ring Rikard got the separation needed to make the tag. The muscular Archangel showed off his combination of power and impact moves by nailing a series of suplexes and flying clotheslines and shoulderblocks. He nearly got the 3 count on Kid but when the youngster kicked out both teams made a tag. The Canadian native Lozansky went to work with a series of headlocks, leg scissors, and spinning toe holds. Finally Rikard once again managed a tag out to Archangel who went right after the back of Lozansky. Knees, a standing surfboard, a couple backbreakers, and then some bearhug spots. Finally as Lozansky was clinched in the corner for a belly to belly suplex, Kid managed to reach in and tag himself in off the back of Lozansky. Archangel finished the suplex not realizing that Kid was climbing to the top rope, and then when he turned around he received a missile dropkick..cover, 1, 2, ...Hermann stopped the count realizing that Lozansky was still in the ring (recovering from the suplex). Incredibly Hermann began to administer a 5 count on Lozansky..which caused the fast thinking Kid to roll his partner out of the ring and onto the apron. Archangel grabbed the feet of Kid and gave him an inverted big swing, eventually dropping him, skidding across the ring on his face. Rikard tagged in and the two sent Kid to the ropes and nailed a double flying clothesline. Rikard tagged out to Archangel and delivered a powerbomb while Archangel climbed to the top buckle and came off with a flying elbowdrop...pin..1... Lozansky had also climbed the adjacent buckle and came off with an elbow to the back of the head of Archangel to break the tag. Rikard entered the ring and attempted to throw Lozansky out of the ring, but it was reversed and Lozansky sent Rikard to the ropes, and followed him with a running clothesline that sent both men tumbling over the top rope. Back inside the Lightning Kid rolled up Archangel and the second straight match was won with an inside cradle. New Champions!! [Mike Lozansky & Lightning Kid defeated Sebastien Rikard & Archangel by pinfall when Kid pinned Archangel with an inside cradle at 14:28] [Mike Lozansky & Lightning Kid Won the RCW Tag Team Titles]
Bout #9 16-Woman Battle Royale for the vacant North American Women's Title in order of elimination (who eliminated them) (time)

Winner: April Cummings 20:12 [April Cummings Wins the North American Women's Title]
It's now right about 10pm so its' time to take our second and final 15 minute intermission
Bout #10 RCW Heritage Title Match Baron von Raschke (6'3 281 lbs., Republic of Germany) ("Ride of the Valkyries" Wagner) (champion) vs Rogue (6'1 235 lbs., parts unknown) ("Violin Concerto, 3rd movement" Tchaikovsky) Rogue looked like he wanted to attack the Baron before the opening bell but backed away when it was obvious the Baron was waiting for him. He then took a powder immediately after the bell rang and spent the first couple minutes of the match ducking in and out of the ring. Finally Baron caught him with a pair of boots to the midsection, and locked in the clawhold. But the hold was applied in the corner and Rogue just had to reach out and grab a rope for the break. He then snuck in a mule kick to the groin which gave him the advantage over the champions. For the next 6 minutes the challenger poured everything he had into the attack on the Baron but could not get a pinfall or submission. He got caught by the Baron coming off the top rope with a double axhandle. The Baron then nailed a pair of bodyslams and boot rakes, a flying shoulderblock, a back bodydrop, and then locked on the clawhold. Rogue lasted about 30 seconds before crying uncle. [Baron von Raschke defeated Rogue by submission to the clawhold at 9:32] [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title]
Bout #11 Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Best 2 out of 3 Falls Jerry Lynn (5'11 212 lbs., Minneapolis, Minnesota) ("Wild Side" Motley Crue) vs Dirty White Boy (5'9" 211 lbs, Bucksnort, Tennessee) ("Dirty White Boy" Foreigner) (champion) The two began by exchanging punches and kicks, but then Jerry Lynn turned it into a chain wrestling sequence that DWB could not keep up with. Lynn nailed a German suplex, a hotshot, and then a new variation of the piledriver (cradle piledriver) that he had not used yet in RCW. Referee Buddy Lane made a 3 count and surprisingly the challenger had a very early fall. [Jerry Lynn pinned Dirty White Boy after a cradle piledriver at 3:38] [Lynn leads 1-0 falls] The second fall began as the first ended with Lynn in charge, a relentless attack that DWB seemingly had no answer to. The champ gained a couple short lived advantages when the match spilled outside the ring but could not sustain it back inside. DWB attacked with kicks and punches, and then a pair of discus punches. But when he went for a piledriver Lynn countered with a back body drop. Lynn whipped DWB hard into the corner, and followed him in with a clothesline which knocked him over the top rope, landing on the ring apron. As the champ moved stunned along the apron Lynn leapt off the top buckle with a springboard dropkick which knocked the champ to the mat below. Lynn then followed up with a head tope through the second and third ropes. Rolling back inside the champ caught him with an elbow and followed up with a bodyslam and then some nasty kicks to the shoulder. He tried to scoop up the challenger again but Lynn squirmed out of it, and then took the champ to the buckle. The two spilled from the corner knocking over Buddy Lane who hit the mat hard. Lynn landed on top of DWB over the top rope but as he recovered Dirty White Boy Barry Horowitz came running from the back and nailed Lynn in the head with a running knee. Lynn got knocked out cold. When DWB shook off the cobwebs he nailed Lynn with a chokeslam and picked up the pin from a groggy Buddy Lane. [Dirty White Boy pinned Jerry Lynn after a chokeslam at 9:50] [match tied 1-1 falls] Before the bell could sound for the 3rd fall Commissioner Jim Brunzell came down to the ring. He laid down the law saying the title would change hands or be retained tonight fair and square, that there would not be interference or cheating. Brunzell said that he would remain at ringside to keep an eye on things and if anyone so much as came down here to buy a soda they would be suspended. And if either participant cheated his way to victory then they would be suspended for 30 days thus causing a forfeiture of the title. The tirade by the commish also bought Jerry Lynn, and referee Buddy Lane a spell to recover from the end of the last fall, something not lost on DWB who tried to complain to Brunzell. But when the bell sounded and DWB continued to complain Lynn rolled him up from behind and got the 1, 2...KICKOUT. Both men scrambled to their feet but the speed of Lynn came into play as he nailed DWB with a clothesline, then another when the champ got back up. Grabbing both legs he then put the champ into a Boston crab. Lynn controlled the first 4 minutes of the fall but never got close to another 3 count. The champ then fired back with cheap shots to the throat and eyes, a spinebuster slam, and then a piledriver and got 1, 2, Kickout by Lynn. DWB then got Lynn in position for a chokeslam but Lynn stomped his foot, twisted out of the throat hold, bieled the champ to the mat, landed a double knee to the skull, and then grabbed the legs for a pin, but only got a 1 count. He went for a piledriver but the champ managed to wiggle his way down and then back body drop the challenger; but Lynn turned it into a sunset flip and cradle for a 2 count. DWB then went back to punches and kicks and really punished Lynn in and out of the ring. When the match spilled out beside Brunzell it distracted the champ who jawed with the commissioner...and then ate a superkick from Lynn, before Lynn powerbombed him onto the announce table...breaking it in half. Lynn followed up with a moonsault onto the prone DWB. It looked like both men might be counted out but Lane slowed the count down enough for Lynn to roll the champ back into the ring. Lynn climbed to the top rope, but DWB cut him off at the pass...except Lynn was even quicker and took DWB down with flying headscissors. Lynn followed up with a running sit out powerbomb, and then quickly turned the champ over into a cloverleaf submission. At first it looked like the champ would just be able to get his way to the ropes, but it soon became apparent that he was in big trouble. The champ's energy began to wane, and Brunzell got into position to head off any interference. The champ tried to reach back and grab an ankle, or knee or anything, but couldn't reach. He tried to bridge out of the hold but was slammed back down and screamed in pain. Buddy Lane kept checking on him...then raised the arm..once, twice, three times. New Champion! [Jerry Lynn submitted Dirty White Boy with a cloverleaf at 22:13] [Jerry Lynn wins the bout 2 falls to 1] [Jerry Lynn Wins the RCW Heavyweight Title]
After the bout Jim Brunzell, Baron von Raschke, Harley Tragger, Ben Bassarab and J.W. Storm joined him in the ring to give congratulations. The Heavyweight, Women's, and Tag Team titles all changed hands tonight, with only Baron Von Raschke managing to hold onto his Heritage title. Jerry Lynn, Baron von Raschke, and Mike Lozansky/Lightning Kid are all fan favourite title holders, with April Cummings the only villain to hold gold going into 1993. So that's it for the 13th year of River City Wrestling. We'll see you in 1993!!

River City Wrestling #511 (in conjunction with the South African Wrestling Federation) January 1, 1993 Sun City, South Africa
Opening Bout Jerry Love defeated Harley Tragger by disqualification for outside interference at 4:17 The opening bout for the second straight year featured the veteran heel Jerry Love from the SAWF who last year defeated Troy Galveston of the RCW. This year he was cheating his way to victory by holding onto hair, tights the ropes, etc. This brought out Ben Bassarab to complain to the ref, and Bassarab ended up getting into a fight with Love. This caused the DQ, and then brought out Gama Singh from the SAWF, then out came Mike Lozansky from RCW...and suddenly both dressing rooms emptied. However, instead of it being good guys vs villains it was SAWF versus RCW. The brawl continued until cooler heads (Brad Rheinghans, Jim Brunzell, Baron von Raschke, Danie Voges, Danie Brits) managed to separate the two factions.
Following this brawl the houselights came on for a short intermission. Following that the South African figurehead Dale Kuentz got on the mic and said that due to what just transpired, the police and security details have decided that the matchups for tonight will need to be shuffled.
Bout #2 Jan & Michael Reimer defeated Dusty Wolfe & Mr. Wrestling by pinfall at 6:26 The young good guys were too much for the mismatched veteran villains.
Bout #3 Mike Lozansky & Lightning Kid defeated Sebastien Rikard & Archangel by pinfall when Lozansky pinned Archangel at 9:40 [Lozansky & Kid retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] The rematch was not going so well for the former champions so Rikard turned on his partner, kicking him in the back of the head and allowing the champs to get the win.
Bout #4 Michel Dubois defeated Chi Chi Cruz by pinfall at 5:13 What would have been a familiar face to RCW fans if they had access to watch this card, Chi Chi Cruz fell to the diabolical tricks of the veteran Dubois. After the bout though Cruz extracted his pound of flesh.
Bout #5 Brad Rheinghans & Jim Brunzell defeated Dirty White Boy & Dirty Barry Horowitz by pinfall when Rheinghans pinned Horowitz after the Olympic Suplex at 11:52 Best bout of the night so far with the first match in a while for Rheinghans and for Brunzell as well. Horowitz was, as could be expected, the weak link.
Bout #6 Mr. India defeated Gama Singh by pinfall after a powerslam at 8:08 The big man overcame the treachery and grappling ability with pure size and little skill to give the fans what they wanted to see.
Bout #7 Manny Silva defeated Ben Bassarab by pinfall after a wheelbarrow suplex at 10:52 Another great match from the RCW guys with both men getting busted wide open.
Bout #8 Big Mike Zuma defeated Butch Masters by countout at 10:15 This very intense brawl ended with both men exchanging chair shots but Zuma being the only one who could beat the 10 count back into the ring.
Bout #9 Baron von Raschke defeated Rogue by submission to the clawhold at 6:36 [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title] Rogue dominated the match but it only took Raschke about a minute of dominance to get his finisher on and get Rogue to cry uncle.
Bout #10 Danie Voges & Danie Brits defeated Steve Wright, Carrion, & Adze by pinfall in a handi-cap match at 17:02 The two Danie's who are also the two biggest stars in South African wrestling teamed up against the veteran Wright and his two monsters in a handi-cap match. The monsters would do the damage and then Wright would come in and try and stretch them for a submission. However the two Danie's were just too much for the gutless Wright and without him leading the charge the other two were easy pickings.
Bout #11 Big Mike Zuma won a 20-man battle royale by last eliminating Mr. India at 21:40 other participants were Butch Masters, Gama Singh, Brad Rheinghans, Michel Dubois, Chi Chi Cruz, Jan Reimer, Michael Reimer, Dusty Wolfe, Mr. Wrestling, Jerry Love, Harley Tragger, Greg Bragg, Carrion, Adze, Black Spider, The Great Krank, Tarzan Jacobs, Mr. Big
Bout #12 Shaun Koen defeated Hercules Ayala by pinfall after a spinning DDT at 12:24 [Koen retained the All-African Heavyweight Title] The smaller Koen won the David vs Goliath battle with speed and skill. However, immediately after the victory Blackjack Mulligan hit the ring and attacked Koen, busting him open with a boot spur. The two Danie's made the save.
Main Event Jerry Lynn defeated Linley Tolbert by disqualification for using a foreign object (brass knuckles) at 15:11 [Jerry Lynn retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] Tolbert is an impressive, young, up and coming performer who's cockiness and style reminds many of a young Nick Bockwinkel or Ric Flair. Physically he also resembles Magnum T.A. He and Lynn battled back and forth in and out of the ring. The bout was a total saw off, in fact as the match progressed it seemed that Tolbert's size advantage was wearing down Lynn. However, Tolbert grew frustrated with Lynn's ability to kick out of pins and tried to take a short cut with a pair of brass knux but was caught and disqualified. Following the bout he tried to hit Lynn again but Lynn blocked it, and tried to nail Tolbert with a cradle piledriver but he squirmed out of it. The South African star slid out of the ring and the two just stared at each other.
Breaking kayfabe; For the second straight year the RCW rewarded its guys with the tax break of a working vacation away from the snow and cold of the mid-west with a trip to South Africa. Unlike last year's sense of sportsmanship and goodwill, this year the two dressing rooms were filled with tension. There was some altercations at the big joint New Year's Eve party the night before which was held at the mansion of owner Dale Kuentz. Some say it was a fight between Manny Silva and Big Mike Zuma that then dragged in other people; others said it was Ben Bassarab hooking up with Dale Kuent's daughter Selita; while others said it was the RCW guys bragging about their payouts for the card (that one seems hard to believe). It was determined the next day between Kuentz and Brunzell that it would be unwise to have the type of card that was held last year which saw a mix of the two companies in many of the matches. So the announced card would have to be scrapped and a new one pieced together. The storyline was then set with the opening brawl to explain the changes to the card. Jerry Love and Harley Tragger was deemed to be a safe first match because Tragger has worked in South Africa before and was trusted by Love and the other Africans. Likewise there was enough mutual respect for Lynn and Tolbert (especially Lynn) to keep the main event together. Many of the other bouts were scrapped and reconfigured. However, a 20 man battle royale had been promised, originally with 10 South Africans and 10 RCW wrestlers. Instead the RCW men were all replaced except for Tragger and Brad Rheinghans who were trusted. Tarzan Jacobs was a retired South African wrestler and bodybuilder (huge dude) who was there as a VIP guest, but was then pressed into service for the battle royale. Mr. Big was an unknown, obese, stagehand who was also pressed into service and was thrown out of the ring first (in about 30 seconds). Black Spider and the Great Crank were likewise local second tier wrestlers who had originally showed up as fans but were pressed into service under masks. I'm not really sure why I came up with this story but my notes were pretty clear that something had happened along these lines and I have had to surmise and fill in the blanks with some details.

River City Wrestling #512January 16, 1993 Winnipeg, Manitoba 1992 Annual Awards EditionWrestler of the Year: Baron von Raschke[/p] Tag Team of the Year: Bob Orton Jr & Mike Lozansky Manager/Valet of the Year: Nick Bockwinkel Feud of the Year: Vendetta vs Rogue Match of the Year: Feb 29: Jerry Lynn drew Ben Bassarab Opening Bout Brad Rheingans defeated Dirty Barry Horowitz by pinfall after an Olympic Suplex (Bridging Cradle Suplex) at 5:33 -Rheingans return to the RCW goes over well with the fans and he had very little problem with Horowitz
Bout #2 Harley Tragger defeated Ken Kendall by pinfall after a powerbomb at 4:20 -another short match. Kendall's premiere in RCW, he is a curtain jerker from other territories
Bout #3 Rogue defeated Ross Greenburg by pinfall after an inverted DDT at 2:11 -yet another squash match. Greenburgh is another curtain jerker making his unremarkable debut in an RCW ring. After the bout Rogue "called out" Vendetta, but when the Haitian legend came down to the ring Rogue made like the wind.
Bout #4 Lenny Thompson and Shark Bait battled to a no-contest at 2:49 -this match was barely underway when Brett Como & Kid Gallahad came down to the ring and attacked Thompson. One can only presume that it was for tarnishing their match at the anniversary show when Thompson turned on his partner Shark Bait, setting up this blow off match. However, the beanpole Thompson absorbed some punishment and then landed some big boots to both Como and Gallahad, knocking them out of the ring, and sending them scrambling. The crowd wasn't sure how to react to this as the villain was trashing other villains, but they cheered Thompson. However, when Sebastien Rikard came down early for his next match and intercepted Thompson in the walkway, the cheers turned to jeers as the two men exchanged greetings, and Rikard offered a handshake to Thompson which was accepted.
Bout #5 Sebastien Rikard defeated Archangel by pinfall after outside interference at 9:47 -former partners who after losing the titles at the anniversary show had a showdown and a pushing match causing this match to happen. Archangel seemed to hold more of the match advantage, but Rikard was biding his time until a ref bump, and then Lenny Thompson came down and devastated Archangel with a running clothesline from behind and then a powerbomb. Rikard woke up the ref and made the pin.
Bout #6 Nick Bockwinkel & Vlad Petrov defeated Ben Bassarab & Bob Orton Jr by pinfall when Bassarab submitted to the Bockwinkel sleeper at 10:52 -originally this match was announced as Bockwinkel and Soultaker. However, Soultaker has left the territory but the Bockwinkel Talent Agency never sleeps so he went out and found a massive (6'3 285 lb) barrel chested Russian as a replacement. Between Bockwinkel's experience and cheating and Petrov's power they battled back and forth with Bassarab and Orton. Orton seemed winded during much of the match and was as close to a weak link as there was in this match. However the match finale came when Petrov made the blind tag and came off the second buckle with a thundering Russian Sickle (flying clothesline). He then tagged out to Bockwinkel who put the sleeperhold on an already knocked out Bassarab, while Petrov knocked Orton off the ring apron with another massive clothesline. Bassarab's arm was raised three times, and it fell three times to end the match.
Bout #7 RCW Heritage Title Match Baron von Raschke defeated Alleycat Anderson by submission to the clawhold at 5:13 [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title] -Anderson had done nothing to deserve a title shot and was overwhelmed by the big veteran. In fact Anderson tried to leave the premises, throwing up his hands in loss and walking out. However Raschke got a huge ovation from the crowd when he chased the challenger down, applied the clawhold, and used it to walk him back to the ring. Back inside the ring he reapplied the hold and got the submission.
Bout #8 RCW Heavyweight Title Match Jerry Lynn defeated Dirty White Boy by pinfall after a cradle piledriver at 8:57 [Jerry Lynn retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] -Nice clean win for the champion's first defence in this rematch of his title win at the anniversary show, also showing off his new finishing move.
Main Event CAGE MATCH Manny Silva defeated Vendetta by pinfall after a bulldog at 12:41 This has to be seen as a bit of an upset. The Haitian Warrior Vendetta started strong and basically beat Silva from pillar to post, and opened up his head by raking it across the cage wall. When Silva did get in some offence it seemed like the adrenaline running through Vendetta allowed him to shake it off. However, finally at around the 7 minute mark he made a mistake coming off the side cage wall with a flying crossbody block that Mad Dog countered into a powerslam. Silva then took over the match choking Vendetta first with his boot then with the ring ropes, then with his bare hands using turnbuckle elevation for leverage. Silva then nailed Vendetta with a pileriver for a 1 count, another piledriver for a 2 count..then a wheelbarrow suplex, for the 1, 2, Kickout! Frustrated Silva threw Vendetta chest first into the buckle, and then tried to follow up on the rebound with a belly to back suplex, but Vendetta countered by spinning around and nailing a DDT. Both men were down but Vendetta got up first at the count of 8. Then Rogue came down to ringside. At first Vendetta didn't notice him and he punished Silva with some stomps, then whipped him into the ropes...and lost his concentration as he now saw Rogue who was hanging half way up the sidewall on the outside of the cage..which caused Silva to collide viciously with Vendetta and both men went down. This time Silva was up first at the count of 6. Rogue grabbed a steel chair and held it against the cage wall while standing on a table he set up, and Silva threw Vendetta head first into the cage wall which now had less give as the pressure on the chair held it in place. Rogue went flying off the table from the impact and Vendetta looked done and was now also busted open. Silva nailed a bulldog to put the punctuation mark on it, and covered him for the 1, 2, 3 !!

CAGE MATCH RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Chris Lyons (ch) v The Mummy (/w Shiek Fal-Had)
-Lyons was a house on fire for most of this match, until Fal-Had passed the Mummy a nail file that he stuck into his bandages, and then used on Lyons whenever the opportunity presented itself. The biggest opportunity came when the Destroyer came down to ringside to complain to the referee, and then when Shiek Fal-Had got into his face he dropped the manager with a right hand. All of this action however distracted the ref and allowed The Mummy to savage Lyons with the nail file as well as bites. Lyons' face was a bloodied mess. The Mummy put on the Arabian Spike nervehold and Lyons' was out in seconds. The Mummy wins via submission at 16:16.
[The Mummy won the RCW Heavyweight Championship]
1982: Oct 24th: RCW #80
RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Chris Lyon defeated The Destroyer by pinfall with a bridging pin at 32:46
[Chris Lyon wins the RCW Heavyweight Title]
**This was the official title shot won by Lyon in the October battle royal. These two men have always put on a good match over the past 3 years in RCW and this was perhaps their best outing. Lyon did his best to cheat but the match remained one on one throughout. Lyon ended up getting the champ in the Boston crab on successive occasions, with the Destroyer spending long, damaging amounts of time in the move. Finally with the champ almost passed out, Lyon turned him over, bridged himself backward and pinned the champ.

River City Wrestling #513 January 30, 1993 Winnipeg, Manitoba Opening Bout Brad Rheingans defeated Alleycat Anderson by pinfall after an Olympic suplex at 6:03 -Second straight glorified squash match for Rheingans
Bout #2 North American Women's Title Match April Cummings and Beverlee Hills battled to a double countout at 8:46 [April Cummings retained the North American Women's Title] -The villain champ Cummings controlled early, Hills took over later, and then they made sure they would get another go at it by taking the action outside in a hair pulling, nail raking affair. And that rematch we find out is the next show in two weeks which will be another all women's "Heartbreakers" show.
Bout #3 Lenny Thompson & Sebastien Rikard defeated Archangel & Shark Bait by pinfall when Rikard pinned Shark Bait after a facedriver at 9:40 -Shark Bait was the weak link here. This match firmly set up Thompson & Rikard as a top tag team, and also set up Archangel now as a fan favourite.
Bout #4 Ben Bassarab defeated Nick Bockwinkel by countout at 7:58 -Bockwinkel looked like a manager trying to wrestle. After trying some short cuts that did not succeed he finally decided to feign entering the ring at the 8 count, but instead just backing away and taking the countout loss.
Bout #5 Vlad Petrov (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Bob Orton Jr by pinfall after a Russian Sickle at 12:12 -Bockwinkel was a couple minutes late joining this match, and then Bassarab came out to confront him causing a 4 man brawl outside the ring. Up to that point the match had been controlled by the monstrous Petrov but this gave Orton a bit of comeback push. However, as Orton pounded away on the Russian he just kept coming back at the Cowboy. Finally Petrov began to again take apart the tired veteran. He seemed to toy with him for the final couple minutes, following Bockwinkel's instructions before finishing him off with the sickle. After the bout Orton lay motionless in the ring, and after being attended to by the ringside doctor he was removed carefully on a stretcher.
Pre-Match: It was announced that the tag team of Kid Gallahad & Brett Como who were supposed to get a tag team title shot tonight would not get that opportunity as Gallahad did not show up for the card. They would be replaced by Dirty White Boy & Dirty Barry Horowitz. Brett Como though came out to complain that he should have been allowed to pick another partner and he was being screwed out of a title bout. This brought out Baron von Raschke who was still very upset about what happened to Orton in the previous match. Raschke said he was supposed to have the night off but now he had some anger to get out so he told Como he would get his title shot tonight; at the Heritage title.
Bout #6 RCW Heritage Title Match Baron von Raschke defeated Brett Como by submission to the clawhold at 4:20 [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title] -Easy and fast title defense for the Baron as he dominated the smaller and less experienced foe. Post-Match: As the Baron celebrated he was attacked by Vlad Petrov with Nick Bockwinkel watching on. Petrov nailed a running clothesline from behind, and then a Russian Sickle from the front. They left the Baron laying when Ben Bassarab and Jim Brunzell came out to make the save.
Bout #7 RCW Tag Team Title Match Dirty White Boy & Dirty Barry Horowitz defeated Mike Lozansky & Lightning Kid by submission when Horowitz submitted Kid with the figure-four leglock at 10:35 [Dirty White Boy & Barry Horowitz won the RCW Tag Team Titles] -It became obvious right away, although he was trying to hide it, there was something wrong with the leg of Lightning Kid which restricted his mobility and ability jump and put weight on it. This of course took away the diminutive champ's biggest advantage and Lozansky had to try and carry the load. The champs hung in there for a while but soon the veteran challengers figured it out and managed to isolate and damage Kid's leg further.
Main Event Jerry Lynn & Vendetta defeated Rogue & Manny Silva by pinfall when Lynn pinned Rogue after a cradle piledriver at 15:09 -While Lynn and Vendetta started the match strong, Rogue and Silva took over and actually controlled most of the match. Lynn really took a beating and was isolated for a long stretch. He managed to reach out and grab the ropes after receiving an inverted DDT finisher from Rogue, and managed to get a shoulder up to beat the count after a wheelbarrow suplex finisher from Silva. After Vendetta got the hot tag the match swung in his favour but he was soon attacked by both opponents and the match spilled outside the ring. Rogue tried to nail Vendetta with a running kneesmash from the announce table but Vendetta moved out of the way and Rogue nailed Silva hard. This caused Silva to attack Rogue from behind before rolling him back inside the ring. Vendetta punished Rogue then tagged out to Lynn who needed some retribution and got it, nailing his finisher and picking up the win. Silva had already left the ring area by the time the pin was made.

River City Wrestling #514 February 13, 1993 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Special all female "Heartbreakers" edition
Opening Bout Stacy Jackson defeated Blue Angel after a running clothesline at 4:29 -Stacy Jackson was a tall, athletic, and kind of plain grappler but skilled enough to get the upper hand on the cheating Blue Angel.
Bout #2 Pink Demon and Purple Demon battled to a no-contest at 6:18 -what looked like a guaranteed win for either one or the other of the two generic jobbers of the female division got off to a tremendous start. The action was surprisingly fast paced, some chain wrestling, went in and out of the ring, and had several near falls. The fans were really into this match as the Purple Demon had the upper hand and was attempting to remove the mask of her foe when Comrade Orca ran into the ring and took out both ladies. Bout #3 Comrade Orca defeated Keisha by pinfall after a splash at 7:03 -Keisha had her moments keeping the massive Orca off balance with her attack, but once Orca got the upper hand she was able to finish it off in a fairly quick fashion.
Bout #4 Molly McShane defeated Ashley Nicole by pinfall after a powerbomb at 5:50 -Ashley Nicole was accomplished in RCW but that is her only experience, and McShane was an experienced grappler and vicious.
Bout #5 Battle of the California Dolls Dottie Bittle defeated Julie Ann Gerhard by pinfall after a bodyslam (with her feet on the middle ropes for leverage) at 5:25 -The billing from this match comes as a result of these girls both being part of the infamous "California Bikini Girls" competitions and video tapes. Not much of a wrestling match, more of a catfight. Gerhard was much more the athlete but Bittle was willing to break the rules which in the end is how she won.
Bout #6 Tawney & Corrie England defeated Nicole Milne & Jennifer Lyon by pinfall when Corrie pinned Milne after a doomsday device at 8:48 -RCW Hall of Fame England sisters came out of retirement to take on Milne & Lyon making their premiere in RCW, hailing from Toronto, and drawing immediate jeers by coming down to the ring wearing Toronto Maple Leaf jerseys. Milne & Lyon were better actresses, feigning hair pulls and chokes, then they were fighters. In the end the crowd enjoyed it when the good girls used the Road Warriors finisher to end the bout in style.
Main Event North American Women's Title Match - LumberJill Match April Cummings defeated Beverlee Hills by pinfall after a superplex at 10:55 [April Cummings retained the North American Women's Title] Beverlee Hills used her size advantage to control more of the match then the champion. At one point she was going to try and finish off Cummings with a bulldog but one of the Lumber Jills who surrounded the ring, Molly McShane (all the wrestlers from the previous matches were at ringside except Comrade Orca) reached in and grabbed the ankle of Hills, enough to get her to lose the hold. Then when Cummings had Hills set up for her Superplex finisher, Hills blocked it, and looked ready to take down Cummings, knee to head drive to the mat. However, Milne & Lyon reached up and held onto Hills so she couldn't move down. This allowed Cummings to finish the superplex and get the pin. A huge brawl erupted outside the ring between all the factions which gave the crowd a bit more for their money.

Opening Bout Brett Como defeated Shark Bait by pinfall after a superplex at 6:05 -Como is the much better wrestler, this was a glorified squash match
Bout #2 Mike Lozansky defeated Dirty Barry Horowitz by disqualification for outside interference at 4:19 -Lozansky's partner Lightning Kid is injured so he does not get a reamatch against Horowitz and Dirty White Boy for the tag titles. Also tonight the DWB has a heavyweight title rematch against Jerry Lynn who he lost the belt to at the Anniversary show. Lozansky was in complete control of this match when DWB hit the ring and attacked him from behind. DWB and Horowitz laid the boots to Lozansky until first Brad Rheingans and then Baron von Raschke came out to make the save. It was note worthy that DWB came to his tag team partner's rescue as he had always let him fail on his own in the past, but now that they own the tag team titles he seems to be showing more interest in Horowitz' career and health.
Bout #3 Sebastien Rikard & Lenny Thompson drew with Ben Bassarab & Archangel 20:00 -a rare time limit draw. Each man had a turn playing Ricky Morton in this bout and each man had times when he was dominant. Thompson and Archangel both had a high physical presence, while Bassarab showed off his technical ability and Rikard showed off his ability to cheat. After the bout Rikard & Thompson pretended to leave the ring but came back in and attacked Bassarab & Archangel, but the good guys expected it and quickly ejected the villains over the top rope.
Bout #4 Harley Tragger defeated Nailz by pinfall after a spinning powerbomb at 7:28 -Nailz was the first of several guest appearances tonight, and formerly wrestled in RCW as Kevin Kelly. Nailz was vicious in and out of the ring, even busting Tragger's head open on the outside ring post. Referee Jurgen Hermann was prepared to DQ Nailz but Tragger told him to let it all go. The match then escalated in violence and intensity and Tragger took it over. A flying elbowsmash preceded an earth pounding finisher.
Bout #5 Manny Silva & Warlord defeated Jim Neidhart & Brian Blair by pinfall when Silva pinned Neidhart after a wheelbarrow suplex at 13:38 -Silva was joined in this bout by 3 guests with Warlord and Nedihart making their first appearance in an RCW ring. Blair is a friend and former tag partner of commissioner Jim Brunzell so the commish led that tag team down to the ring and even jawed with Silva, but did not stick around ringside. Silva actually spent the first 5 minutes of this match being isolated and beaten by his opponents. Warlord almost short circuited and came in twice to interfere and risked DQ by pushing ref Buddy Lane. A four man brawl erupted and a betting man would have put his wager on a no contest. However things calmed down, Warlord came in and took the match over, then all four men had their moments. In the end though Silva rose above the others in size, stamina, and will and showed great power beating Neidhart not the smaller Blair to take the win.
Bout #6 Baron von Raschke & Brad Rheingans defeated Vlad Petrov & Nick Bockwinkel by pinfall when Rheingans pinned Bockwinkel after an Olympic suplex at 10:02 -While there was no weak link in this match there was definitely one that rose above the others, the big Russian Vlad Petrov. However, despite his great showing Rheingans managed to get the pinfall victory over Bockwinkel.
Bout #7 Vendetta defeated Rogue by pinfall after a DDT at 12:34 -yet another chapter in this rivalry. This time Vendetta comes out clean, on top, after hitting his finisher.
Bout #8 North American Women's Title Match Cynthia Rothrock defeated April Cummings by pinfall after a spinning heel kick at 7:12 [Cynthia Rothrock Won the North American Women's Title] -the women's title continues its legacy of being a hot potato. Cummings' short reign came to an end unexpectantly when Cynthia Rothrock made a surprise return to the ring from Hollywood, and replace the injured Beverlee Hills. Rothrock had the upper hand throughout most of this match and regained her title in a decisive manner.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Jerry Lynn defeated Dirty White Boy by pinfall after a cradle piledriver at 10:38 [Jerry Lynn retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] -this was Dirty White Boy's return match after losing the title to Lynn. While the match went back and forth the title never seemed in too much jeopardy. Dirty Barry Horowitz tried to come down to the ring and interfere on behalf of his tag team partner DWB but Baron von Raschke came out and cut him off at the pass.

River City Wrestling #516 March 13, 1993 Winnipeg, Manitoba
*St. Patrick's Week Card*
An autograph session was held for fans earlier in the afternoon as part of the festivities of this card. Besides the normal roster of the RCW the guests; Brian Blair, Jim Neidhart, Nailz, Kevin Sullivan, and Warlord were also there. Winnipeg Blue Bombers Chris Walby and David Black were also present, as were Hall of Famers Corrie England, Tawney England, Mike Valiant, Chris Lyon, and The Destroyer. Retired Winnipeg Jets Joe Daley and Perry Miller, as well as musicians Kenny Shields and Lou Petrovich were also on hand. Hundreds of fans were in attendence.
The show started with members of the RCW Hall of Fame Committee Jack McAdam and Stan Mullen being joined in the ring by RCW commissioner Jim Brunzell. It was announced that after an extensive review of possible candidates, while there were plenty of good candidates, it was decided that there were no stand-out candidates for the Hall of Fame this year, and therefore there would be no induction in 1993. Part of the issue is that many of the people being considered were still in the prime of their careers and either were still wrestling in RCW or may one day return.
Opening Bout Jerry Fury defeated Ken Kendall by pinfall after a springboard leg lariat at 5:40 -premiere match for Jerry Fury, and while he won, he really looks like a glorified curtain jerker.
Bout #2 L.A. Gore defeated Shark Bait by pinfall after a leg drop at 6:13 -another match between two glorified jobbers. Gore is physically impressive but a bit clumsy. Even so he had little trouble getting the duke.
Bout #3 Molly McShane defeated Stacy Jackson by pinfall after a jacknife powerbomb at 10:07 -solid match. Jackson looked good and held most of the advantage throughout the match, much to the delight of the fans. However, McShane managed a quick comeback with a kick to the gut, forearm upper, monkey flip out of the corner, bulldog, and then her finisher. Solid but unpopular win for the "Irish Star" Molly McShane.
Bout #4 Brett Como defeated Mike Lozansky by pinfall after a victory roll at 8:52 -Fast paced match with aerial moves, in and out of the ring, and some chain wrestling thrown in. Lozansky seemed to have the match in hand but when he went for his finisher a missile dropkick, Como managed to move out of the way and Lozansky wrecked himself. Como rolled him up and got the win.
Bout #5 Vlad Petrov (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Harley Tragger by pinfall after a Russian Sickle at 9:47 -very even match. Tragger has "old man" strength even though he is not old yet, but Petrov is a Bull. So Tragger found himself frustrated by his normal attempts to power through the match. Instead he went for a stick and move attack. Petrov controlled most of the latter minutes of the match though but couldn't put away Tragger, and when he went for a powerbomb Tragger countered with impressive flying headscissors. Tragger took it to Petrov but Bockwinkel managed to reach in and trip up Tragger, unseen by long time inept referee Jurgen Hermann. When he scrambled to his feet he was nailed by the big finisher.
Bout #6 Vendetta defeated Warlord by disqualification for abuse of official at 7:05 -fairly even match with the local hero Vendetta giving it as good as he got from the guest Warlord. In the end it seemed that the ego of Warlord would not let him loose so he intentionally threw the ref Buddy Lane out of the ring to get himself disqualified. The two continued to brawl outside the ring after the match with Warlord finally taking off to avoid a beating.
Bout #7 Eight Man Elimination Tag Match Sebastien Rikard/Lenny Thompson/Nailz/Kevin Sullivan vs Ben Bassrab/Archangel/Jim Neidhart/Brian Blair -Sebastien Rikard eliminated by Jim Neidhart after a powerslam at 5:15 -Nailz eliminated by disqualification for use of a foreign object after hitting Brian Blair with a steel chair at 9:02 -Brian Blair eliminated by Kevin Sullivan after a double stomp, already injured from the chair shot, at 9:24 -Archangel and Kevin Sullivan both eliminated after a double countout as they brawled outside the ring at 13:11 -Jim Neidhart eliminated by Lenny Thompson after a big boot to the face at 16:08 -Lenny Thompson eliminated by Ben Bassarab after a diving crossbody block at 27:00 Ben Bassarab/Archangel/Jim Neidhart/Brian Blair defeated Sebastien Rikard/Lenny Thompson/Nailz/Kevin Sullivan in an Eight Man Elimination Match at 27:00 [Ben Bassarab the only survivor]
Bout #8 North American Women's Title Match Cynthia Rothrock defeated April Cummings by pinfall after a sunset flip at 8:27 [Cynthia Rothrock retained the North American Women's Title] Rothrock wins the return match much to the delight of the fans who really like the diminutive butt kicking style of the martial arts based actress and wrestler. Seemed to be a bit more urgency to the game of Cummings tonight, walking the fine line of disqualification. It looked like Rothrock had the match in hand and was going to finish it off with her spinning heel kick, but Cummings saw it coming, ducked away, swept the leg, dropped an elbow, and locked in an STF. Rothrock escaped the hold but Cummings kept going at her, but made the mistake of telegraphing a back bodydrop and Rothrock countered with a sunset flip and got the duke.
Bout #9 RCW Tag Team Title Match Baron von Raschke & Brad Rheingans defeated Dirty White Boy & Dirty Barry Horowitz by pinfall when Rheingans pinned Horowitz after an Olympic suplex at 16:36 [Baron von Raschke & Brad Rheingans Won the RCW Tag Team Title] -The challengers started the bout a house on fire. But everytime they would get a sustained advantage one of the Dirty White Boys would do a run in and upset the apple cart. Then the champs took over and Rheingans played Ricky Morton for a while, with the champs using distraction and arguing with referee Jurgen Hermann to their advantage. Finally the hot tag was made and Raschke came in and cleaned house. Rheingans worked over Horowitz and this time when DWB tried to interfere he was cut off at the pass by Raschke which allowed Rheingans to nail his finisher and the titles changed hands. Raschke is now a double champion holding both the Heritage title and Tag Title.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Jerry Lynn defeated Manny Silva by disqualification for use of a foreign object at 14:40 [Jerry Lynn retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] -Silva attacked Lynn before the bell could sound, and ran him from post to post. He nailed a quick piledriver and got a 2 count. He then threw Lynn outside the ring and followed after him. The challenger whipped Lynn back first into the ring apron, and then did the same thing to the steel barricade before following up with a clothesline that flipped Lynn over the barricade. Back inside the ring Silva paused to work an armbar and then a nerve hold, and finally a neck vice. Having weakened the champ up he went for another piledriver but this time the champ countered with a backflp. It wasn't enough to get the champ the advantage but he slowly dragged himself back into this match, then took it over when Silva charged into the second buckle when Lynn ducked under, rolled him up for a 2 count. Lynn was then a ball of fire with a standing dropkick, a side kick, leg spreader and a kneedrop to the lower abdomen. Lynn then began to just wildly stomp away at the challenger until, ignoring the count of referee Buddy Lane, he kicked Silva right out of the ring. However, he made the mistake of taking his eyes off Silva and while he was arguing with Lane, Silva reached in and tripped up Lynn, then dragged him out of the ring. Silva nailed him with a pair of running clotheslines, but when he went for a powerslam Lynn countered with flying headscissors. Lynn broke the count by rolling back into the ring but he then climbed all the way to the top buckle and came off in a flying crossbody block on Silva still on the arena floor. Lynn took the match back inside and nailed a series of kicks and punches before nailing a German suplex and got a 1 count. Lynn nailed a monkeyflip, followed by a series of mounted punches, and two snap suplexes, and got a 2 count. Lynn put on the cross armbreaker but Silva made his way to the ropes for a break. A criss cross series followed with Lynn nailing a cross bodyblock only to have it countered by Silva with a powerlsam for a 2 count. Silva nailed a pair of knee drops, some chops, a backbreaker and a 2 count. Silva tried for his wheelbarrow suplex but Silva fought his way out of it. Frustrated Silva took the champ down with a flying clothesline, followed by a boot choke, and then a choke slam, but only got a 2 count. Silva then threw Lynn out of the ring and the two brawled on the floor. Lynn nailed a flying kneesmash from the apron and that was the final straw for Silva who snapped. The mad Hawaiian grabbed a steel chair and ~waffled~ the champion across the head. Buddy Lane called for the DQ, but that didn't stop Silva from nailing the champ 3 more times until help arrived to end the mayhem. Lynn was busted wide open. This feud does not appear to be over.

River City Wrestling #517 March 27, 1993 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout Dirty Barry Horowitz defeated Jerry Fury by pinfall after a bridging Northern Lights suplex at 6:46 -an enhancement match, which saw Horowitz pick up a rare singles victory. Fury is now 1-1 in RCW.
Bout #2 Mike Lozansky defeated L.A. Gore by disqualification for use of a foreign object at 5:30 -the bigger Gore had his moments but once Lozansky took over the bout Gore could not take it and used a steel chair on his opponent to get an intentional DQ
Bout #3 April Cummings defeated Dottie Bittle after a superplex at 3:33 -seemed impressive that the former California Bikini model Bittle could take a superplex, but it didn't seem too impressive when they had to take her off on a stretcher after the bout
Bout #4 Harley Tragger defeated Brett Como by pinfall after a powerbomb at 8:20 -a match between two mid-carders that helped settle the pecking order here in RCW. Como had his share of the action but in the end the power of Tragger trumped the agility and cheating of Como.
Bout #5 Dirty White Boy defeated Brad Rheingans by pinfall after a chokeslam (and with his feet on the ropes) at 7:43 -with his tag team champion partner Baron von Raschke having to defend his Heritage title tonight Rheingans found himself matched up against one half of the former champions the Dirty White Boys. DWB grabbed the early advantage with chokeholds and a punch to the throat. Rheingans managed to make a comeback but Barry Horowitz came to ringside which distracted the ref and Rheingans, and this allowed DWB to Pearl Harbor him and take back control. A whip to the ropes and Rheingans taken down with an elbow to the chest. A boot choke, bodyslam, another boot choke, German suplex, another boot choke, and finally his chokeslam finisher. Rheingans still looked like he would have kicked out but DWB draped his feet over the middle strand for extra leverage to get the tainted win.
Bout #6 Molly McShane defeated Beverlee Hills by submission to the cloverleaf at 6:02 -Beverlee Hills returned from her injury to take on McShane in a match that would have to be considered a #1 contenders match for Cynthia Rothrock's Women's title. Hills had her moments but McShane is just a better, more experienced grappler.
Bout #7 Sebastien Rikard & Lenny Thompson defeated Ben Bassarab & Archangel by pinfall when Thompson pinned Archangel after a big boot to the face at 9:07 -rematch from February where these two teams battled to a time limit draw. This time Rikard & Thompson elevated their game by cheating more and distracting the ref. It also seemed like Bassarab and Archangel simply gave up trying to fight both their opponents and referee Jurgen Hermann, punctuated by Bassarab not trying to break up the pin. The win puts Rikard & Thompson solidly in the tag team title conversation.
Bout #8 Brian Blair defeated Kevin Sullivan by disqualification for use of a foreign object (brass knuckles) at 7:58 -Blair wanted a wrestling match, but Sullivan wanted a brawl, and the brawl prevailed. That did mean however that Sullivan controlled much of the match. But once Blair made his comeback Sullivan risked DQ by using brass knuckles, and got caught by referee Buddy Lane and disqualified. Despite the loss Sullivan opened up the head of Blair, and the save was made by commissioner (and friend of Blair's) Jumpin' Jimmy Brunzell.
Bout #9 RCW Heritage Title Match Baron von Raschke and Vlad Petrov (/w Nick Bockwinkel) battled to a no-contest at 9:38 [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title] -Petrov gave Raschke probably his toughest challenge since the big German won the title last year. It looked like the title might change hands after Petrov worked over the back of the champion with double axhandles, surfboard, bodyslams, backbreaker, and repetitive use of the bearhug. But Raschke managed to put the clawhold onto the skull of the big Russian while still in the bearhug. Refereee Jurgen Hermann had to keep checking with both men to see if either was going to submit. Finally Petrov's arms dropped his grasp on the champ and he fell to one knee. Bockwinkel stood on the ring apron yelling at Petrov, and then suddenly Dirty White Boy and Barry Horowitz hit the ring and attacked Raschke. It was a 2 on 1 until Brad Rheingans hit the ring to even things up, Bockwinkel and Petrov made it 4 on 2, and then Harley Tragger, Mike Lozansky, and Ben Bassarab came out to set things in order...but this drew out Lenny Thompson and Sebastien Rikard and we had a full blown pier 6 brawl.
Main Event
RCW Heavyweight Title Match Manny Silva defeated Jerry Lynn by pinfall after a front layout suplex at 14:37 [Manny Silva Wins the RCW Heavyweight Title] -surprisingly the match started off a bit slow and tentative with both men feeling it out. Lynn worked a series of armbars, and Silva countered with a series of headlocks and headscissors. Silva picked up the pace knocking Lynn over with a shoulderblock following a criss cross segment. A rear naked chinlock was scrapped in favor of driving his knee into the back of the champ. A backbreaker was next for Silva before locking the champ in a Boston crab. Lynn managed to get to the ropes and then fight back with a series of kicks, forearms, and then a running mat slam. Lynn then went to the top rope and came off with a flying cross body block and got 1, 2, kickout! The champ was on fire and hit a spinning heel kick, went for the Gory special..but Silva countered with the Greco-Roman rake of the eyes. Silva walked off the damage, and when Lynn tried to smash his head into the buckle he fed him an elbow to the kisser. Silva then exploded with a spinebuster slam, covered for a 2 count. The challenger went to work with a knee drop from the 2nd buckle, a blatant choke hold, a rope rake of the forehead, single leg takedown into a leglock. The challenger worked the leglock for a bit before dropping a knee into the leg instead. He went for a figure-four but the champ kicked Silva off and sent him flying between the ropes. This bought the champ time and when the two hooked up again inside the ring they traded kicks and punches. Silva got the better of it and the followed up with a slingshot catapult into the corner, a roll up, for 1, 2, handful of tights seen by referee Buddy Lane and he calls for the break. Lynn attacked with a kneelift and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a 1 count. More fisticuffs followed by a criss cross segment, and Lynn reversed a whip to the ropes and sent Silva straight into referee Buddy Lane who went down hard. Silva took the opportunity to kick the champ in the crotch and then nail a DDT. He covered but there was no referee. Silva went over to check on Lane and the champ got up, then went back down playing possum. As Silva went to pick up Lynn by the hair the champ rolled him up instead..but Lane was still groggy and by the time he laid down the count of 1 Silva was able to roll out of it. Back on their feet Silva went for a clothesline which Lynn countered with a duck under and a backslide...but Lane was still groggy and managed a pretty slow 2 count. Back on their feet Silva went for a kick to the gut, but Lynn caught the foot, spun Silva around, went for a swinging neckbreaker, but Silva blocked it, and nailed a front layout suplex. Silva covered for 1, 3, shoulder up by the champ...but 3!! Lane still groggy missed an obvious shoulder up and we have a new champ!

River City Wrestling #518April 10, 1993 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout Brian Blair defeated The Psycho by submission to the sleeperhold at 6:53 -Psycho's premiere in RCW, looked promising but had limited in ring skills, and was overmatched by the veteran Blair
Bout #2 Mike Lozansky defeated L.A. Gore by pinfall after a missile dropkick at 8:11 -rematch from last card where Gore got himself intentionally disqualified by hitting Lozansky with a steel chair. This time Gore used his power and cheating to control the first 5 minutes or so before Lozansky made his comeback, took over the match, and ended it with a definitive victory.
Bout #3 Vlad Petrov & Nick Bockwinkel defeated Canadian Cannonball & Dave Pinsky by countout at 4:59 -this was advertised as a tag match but Bockwinkel had no intention of tagging in, and allowed Petrov to wrestler a handi-cap match. Despite the 2 on 1 their opponents who were making their RCW premiere had no luck against Petrov, one on one to when they tried to double team. Finally after Petrov tossed both men over the top rope they decided to take a hike instead of going back into the ring.
Bout #4 #1 Contenders Event for the North American Women's Title Molly McShane won a Lone Survivor Match at 15:03 The unique match began as a Six Woman Elimination Match April Cummings, Julie Ann Gerhard, & Molly McShane vs Beverlee Hills, Dottie Bittle, & Stacy Jackson -McShane pinned Jackson after a powerbomb at 3:40 (Cummings reached in and held down the legs of Jackson for extra leverage) -Hills pinned Cummings after a schoolgirl at 6:37 -Gerhard pinned Bittle after a hanging vertical suplex at 8:07 With one team down to 1 lady the rules now reverted to all the remaining wrestlers (3) as legal in an elimination match Julie Ann Gerhard vs Molly McShane vs Beverlee Hills Gerhard and McShane pretty much continued to work together even after the cracks in that alliance broke down at one point. Gerhard nailed Hills with a suplex and then McShane nailed the downed Hills with a top rope splash. McShane though rolled off Hills in pain and allowed Gerhard to make the cover on Hills. -Gerhard pinned Hills after McShane hit a top rope splash at 11:12 The pain though was just a rouse and McShane nailed Gerhard from behind and then nailed a series of 3 rolling waistlock suplexes. Gerhard made a short comeback but McShane was determined and fought back, harder, nailing a piledriver to seal the win. -Molly McShane eliminated Julie Ann Gerhard by pinfall after a piledriver at 15:03 Bout #5 Super Destroyers (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Harley Tragger & Ben Bassarab by pinfall when SD 2000 pinned Bassarab after a stuffed piledriver at 13:02 -Bockwinkel unveiled his new tandem, yet another incarnation of the Super Destroyers. For clarity they have elected to call themselves Super Destroyer 2000 and Super Destroyer 2001, probably named after the future years, not a numerical sequence of use. Tragger and Bassarab actually seemed like the better wrestlers but the heels used timely interference by Bockwinkel and a double team to pick up a tainted win.
Post-Match Commissioner Jim Brunzell comes to the ring. He says that due to what just happened, and in light of how the Heavyweight title changed hands last card after a groggy Buddy Lane had been knocked out, tonight's rematch for the heavyweight title will have 2 referee's. Buddy Lane will work the inside of the ring, with Jurgen Hermann an extra set of eyes on the ring apron. Lane is free to consult and listen to Hermann's reports, but Lane's word will be final.
Bout #6 Sebastien Rikard & Lenny Thompson defeated Billy Two Eagles & Jerry Fury by pinfall when Thompson pinned Fury after a running boot to the face at 9:11 -Eagles was making his premiere in RCW but was not the weak link in this match, that honor was bestowed on Fury.
Bout #7 RCW Tag Team Title Match Baron von Raschke & Brad Rheingans defeated Dirty White Boy & Dirty Barry Horowitz by submission when Raschke submitted Horowitz to the clawhold at 10:54 [Raschke & Rheingans retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] -match hardly seemed to be in doubt due to Horowitz being the weak link and DWB not seeming to be totally engaged. This was a rematch from the March title change and really just put a stamp on the title change.
Post-Match: Despite the lack of drama in the tag title match, after the bout Vlad Petrov and the Super Destroyers hit the ring under the watch of Nick Bockwinkel and laid waste to the tag champs until Brunzell, Blair, Tragger and Bassarab came to the rescue.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Two Referees (Buddy Lane & Jurgen Hermann) Jerry Lynn defeated Manny Silva by disqualification for abuse of official at 12:33 [Manny Silva retained the RCW Heavyweight title] -Well you just knew that with the special stipulation that the officials would come into play. The match was an excellent, fast paced bout that alternated in and out of the ring. Neither man held anything back but the ref (or refs) seemed content to let them brawl it out, just drawing the line when Silva grabbed a steel chair and both refs joined together to convince him to put it down. Back inside Lynn caught Silva with a kick to the thigh, high knee, and then he jumped up planting both his knees into Silva's chest, grabbed him behind the head and then drove him down face first into his knees. Lynn covered for 1, 2, Silva's foot went to the bottom rope and Land may not have seen it but Hermann yelled at Lane to alert him. Lynn seemed frustrated and nailed Silva with a pair of dropkicks. Silva took a powder outside and when Lynn decided to give chase, after a couple second delay because Lane tried to stop him, Silva managed to turn quickly and clothesline Lynn. The champ then stomped away at him before rolling him back inside the ring. Silva then climbed to the second buckle and came down..but Lynn rolled out of the way. The challenger kicked away at the legs of the champ, causing him to turn full circle on his butt, only to have Lynn nail a side kick right to his chest. Legs in the air Silva was grabbed by Lynn and turned over for a Boston crab. The champ managed to slowly get his way to the ropes. He only managed to touch the ropes with his fingertips before Lynn pulled him back inside. In fact Lane missed it and argued with Hermann for a few seconds before relenting and calling for the break. There seemed to be some tension now between the two refs. Silva caught Lynn with a lowblow missed by Lane, and then the two began to exchange punches and kicks. Lynn once again grabbed the advantage and Silva seeing the writing on the wall tried to make it look like he stumbled into referee Lane, but it was pretty obvious to all he did it on purpose and collided hard with Buddy Lane sending him to the mat. Lynn then caught Silva with a DDT..covered..no ref as Hermann was trying to wake up Lane. Lynn then nailed his cradle piledriver finisher, and this time Hermann came over and counted the pin, 1, 2, 3 !!! New champion? Hermann got the belt and gave it to Lynn while Silva stomped away at the ropes. Silva then attacked Lynn from behind, choking him over the second rope. He grabbed back the title belt and nailed referee Hermann across the head with the belt. In the meantime Lane had shaken off the cobwebs just in time to see Silva nail Hermann in the head with the belt and then hold it up high. Lane called for the bell...and when it didn't sound he called for it again..this time it was rung. Chaos ensued as Lane tried to pull the title from Silva only to get thrown out of the ring. Jim Brunzell came down to restore order. With everyone separated and sorted out Buddy Lane grabbed the mic and explained that he was disqualifying Silva for abuse of official. When Brunzell explained that Hermann had counted the 3 count before the abuse so the pinfall should count...Lane said no...the disqualification was for when Silva hit him and knocked him out prior to the 3 count. Brunzell had no choice, he had given orders that Lane's decision would be final. The result was to stand and Silva was still champion. Lynn was distraught, yelling and complaining to Lane, Brunzell, and Hermann but to no avail. Silva just took his belt and left as fast as he could stage right.

Opening Bout Animal Harpas defeated Jerry Fury by submission to the Asiatic spike at 3:47 -premiere of Harpas, basically an Australian version of George the animal Steele. Science had no part in this match and Harpas made sure the fans knee he was the villain.
Post-Match: As referee Buddy Lane raised Harpas' arm in victory Jerry Lynn hit the ring and attacked Buddy Lane from behind! Obviously still angry about last card's main event that saw him robbed of the Heavyweight title. Despite the fact that he was scheduled to get another title match tonight in the main event his anger must have boiled over. He pounded away at Lane. When Fury tried to rescue Lane he was nailed by Lynn, and then Harpas reapplied the spike to Fury. Harpas' involvement did not seem planned by Lynn but he was obviously enjoying the mayhem. The locker room eventually emptied with Brunzell, Raschke, Bassarab, and Rheingans all coming out to break it up.
Bout #2 Sebastien Rikard defeated Billy Two Eagles by pinfall after a spinning neckbreaker (and using the ropes for leverage) at 6:23 -fairly even match but Rikard managed to sneak in a chop to the throat that was not seen by referee Jurgen Hermann (who seemed distracted watching his back the whole bout), and later a low blow (again not seen), and finally when he made the pin he put his feet on the middle strand for extra leverage.
Pre-Match: Commissioner Jim Brunzell came to the ring to address what happened earlier. First of all Lane has suffered a head injury and a shoulder injury and has been sent to the hospital. Jerry Lynn had a rematch tonight scheduled with Manny Silva for the title but as of right now Lynn is suspended so that match will not go on. Brunzell then calls out Nick Bockwinkel to the ring. Slick Nick tries to come down to the ring with all his members of the Bockwinkel Talent Agency (Vlad Petrov & The Super Destroyers) but Brunzell tells the goons to stay backstage or else they will also lose their title matches tonight. Brunzell says he has a proposition for Bockwinkel. First of all as the line-up says tonight the Super Detroyers have a title match against Raschke & Rheingans. In an unusual move though because Raschke is a dual title holder he will also defend his title tonight against Vlad Petrov (also already scheduled, so far Bockwinkel does not look impressed). What Brunzell proposes is that they move up the Heritage title match tonight to next, and that will give Raschke time to recover for the tag title match (Bockwinkle shakes his head no to this), but will also give Petrov time to recover for the main event tonight where, if he wants it, he will sub in for Lynn and fight Silva for the Heavyweight title (Bockwinkel nods yes to this, and says we have a deal). Bock also adds that he is glad that Jurgen Hermann will be the ref for the rest of the night as he is much more impartial then Lane. Brunzell though drops the other shoe and says that in tonight's main event the special guest referee will be none other then himself! Amd as a warmup for that he will also referee the next match between Raschke & Petrov!
Bout #3 RCW Heritage Title Match Special guest referee Jim Brunzell Baron von Raschke defeated Vlad Petrov (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by disqualification for outside interference at 10:02 [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title] Brunzell called things right down the middle but was easily distracted by Bockwinkel which the bad guys then used to their advantage. Heat was actually generated between Raschke and Brunzell as the Baron tried to explain to the Commish what was happening. Finally Baron took things into his own hands with closed fists and was warned by Brunzell. Things settled down and Petrov held the advantage with his power but when he went for the Russian sickle the Baron ducked under, and then locked on the clawhold. Petrov managed to quickly kick his way out of it and back the champ into the corner. While Bock held onto Baron's legs Petrov punished him with elbows and shoulderblocks. But Raschke fought back with an open hand to the face and then locked on the clawhold, escaping Bock's grasp. It looked like the Baron would win as Petrov dropped to one knee...but Manny Silva hit the ring and nailed Petrov from behind. He then retrieved a steel chair and nailed Bockwinkel when the California agent tried to stop him, then he nailed Raschke, and finally Petrov (twice). He stopped short of hitting Brunzell and finally left the ring. Weakening his opponent for later tonight?
Bout #4 Julie Ann Gerhard and Beverlee Hills battled to a no-contest at 6:32 -well the shenanigans of the night continued. Hills and Gerhard went back and forth and it was any women's match, until Gerhard used a sleeper that she kept slipping into a chokehold, missed by Jurgen Hermann (of course). As Hills faded away a newcomer (fitness competitor Marla Duncan) hit the ring and attacked Gerhard. The fans cheered as Duncan unleashed a series of chops, a whip to the ropes and a thundering high back body drop. Before she could continue the abuse Gerhard slipped out of the ring. As there was no known affiliation between Hills and Duncan the referee called this one a no-contest instead of a DQ. Backstage Commissioner Jim Brunzell's head exploded. Bout #5 Lenny Thompson defeated Ben Bassarab by pinfall after a running leg drop at 9:39 -fairly even match but Bassarab always seemed to be in control. Thompson though used his big limbs to exert some freaky power and knock Bassarab senseless with a running clothesline and then a running leg drop.
Bout #6 Harley Tragger defeated Dirty White Boy by countout at 7:10 -knock out, slug fest between these two men that spent as much time out of the ring as inside. Referee Jurgen Hermann let the boys be boys and in the end Tragger bodyslammed DWB on the announce table, and left him laying as he rolled back inside the ring to beat the 10 count and get the win.
Bout #7 North American Women's Title Match Cynthia Rothrock defeated Molly McShane by submission to the cloverleaf at 10:06 [Cynthia Rothrock retained the North American Women's Title] -Rothrock returned to Winnipeg to defend her title and prove she is very popular with the fans. McShane is a more polished wrestler but Rothrock and her diminutive frame unleashed the power of her martial arts and also used a new finisher to walk away victorious. Bout #8 RCW Tag Team Title Match Baron von Raschke & Brad Rheingans defeated The Super Destroyers (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall when Rheingans pinned SD 2001 after an Olynmpic suplex at 13:30 [Raschke & Rheingans retained the RCW Tag Team Titles] -Raschke wrestled the match with his head bandaged and let Rheingans wrestle the lion's share of the match. Rheingans did okay at first but later in the match was getting worn down. Bockwinkel made the mistake of walking around the ring and getting into Raschke's face which caused a brawl and woke up the Baron. Back inside Baron took care of SD 2000 while Rheingans put the finishing touches on SD 2001.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Special guest referee: Jim Brunzell Manny Silva defeated Vlad Petrov (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by pinfall after a top rope knee drop at 12:54 [Manny Silva retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] -Silva and Petrov held nothing back, testing Brunzell's patience a bit by bit. And at every turn they found Brunzell willing to let them beat and butcher each other. They began to complain to Brunzell about what he was allowing and then about his slow counts. He seemed to want this bout to stretch out. Petrov knocked Silva head first into the ringpost outside the ring busting him wide open (an action that usually causes disqualification). There was no 10 count outside the ring as the two battled. The only time Brunzell really got involved was when Bockwinkel tried to attack Silva from behind, which drew physical intervention from Brunzell. A pushing match happend then between Brunzell and Bockwinkel which escalated to punches. Petrov nailed Brunzell from behind to knock him out and then it was 2 on 1 with Bock and Petrov beating on Silva. Back inside the ring Bockwinkel set up Silva for his piledriver while Silva climbed to the top rope to add leverage to the feet. But Brunzell recovered, and dropkicked Bockwinkel which sent him and Silva spilled out. Petrov climbed down and took the match over punishing Silva and the match resumed again. Petrov whipped Silva to each buckle and followed him in with a punishing clothesline. Silva fought back with kicks and punches but when he went for his wheelbarrow suplex he collapsed under the weight of the challenger and his own blood loss. Petrov tried for his finisher the Russian sickle but Silva got in a quick elbow to his kisser instead. He scoop slammed Petrov then climbed to the top rope and dropped a knee to the skull of the challenger, covered and got the 3 count.
Post-Match: A crazy hectic night hardly ever seen in RCW got even crazier at the very end. As the ring emptied and Brunzell stood alone surveying the carnage and the houselights rose, there was one more surprise. Recently banished Kevin Sullivan made a surprise entrance rolling into the ring, and he attacked Brunzell from behind. He laid in a beating on the commissioner until Raschke and Rheingans made the save.

May 1993 Roster
Faces Baron von Raschke Ben Bassarab Mike Lozansky Harley Tragger Brad Rheingans Brian Blair Jerry Fury Billy Two Eagles Dave Gobel (NEW) Eddie Watts (NEW)
Heels Jerry Lynn Manny Silva Sebastien Rikard Lenny Thompson Vlad Petrov Animal Harpas The Psycho Super Destroyer 2000 Super Destroyer 2001 Adrian Street (NEW) Kevin Sullivan Nightstalker
Ladies Cynthia Rothrock Jennifer Castles (NEW) Jacquelyn
River City Wrestling #520 May 8, 1993 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Before the night's matches started Brian Blair and Baron von Raschke came to the ring along with a familiar face Kenny Jay. Blair says due to the chaos of last week Commissioner Jim Brunzell is on bed rest at home as is referee Buddy Lane. So tonight Kenny "Sodbuster" Jay has been brought back as a second referee and will take Buddy Lane's spot in the rotation. Also, Blair says that tonight he has been signed to wrestle the young punk Jerry Lynn and teach him a thing or two about life. Raschke then says they haven't forgotten about the coward Kevin Sullivan either so tonight Sullivan should grab himself a partner and he and Rheingans will put the titles on the line to induce him...because cowards need to be induced...to fight.
Opening Bout Ben Bassarab defeated Dave Gobel by pinfall after a flying crossbody block at 2:53 -short squash match for Bassarab against the premiere of another curtain jerker from the local indy scene.
Bout #2 Animal Harpas defeated Mike Lozansky by submission with the Asiatic Spike at 5:29 -Lozansky started strong against the hairy Aussie mad man, but Harpas took over with a choke, double arm chokeslam, spinebuster slam, and then put on his finisher and made Lozansky cry uncle. After the bout Harpas continued to beat on Lozansky and threw him over the top rope for good measure.
Bout #3 Billy Two Eagles defeated The Psycho after a running kneesmash at 4:01 -Another glorified squash match. The Psycho may be crazy but he is not overly effective.
Bout #4 Jacquelyn defeated Jennifer Castles by pinfall after a spinning heel kick at 6:10 -the return of Jacquelyn (Jackie Moore - Sweet Brown Sugar) from Texas, this time as a heel against the premiere of Jennifer Castles, a young, tall lanky girl. Castles was all right but no match for the combination of athleticism, violence, and compact power of her opponent. Interesting was Jacqueline's choice of a new finisher, the spinning heel kick, which just happens to be North American Women's champion Cynthia Rothrock's finisher. In case there was any doubt as to it being a coincidence Jacqueline yelled at the crowd after the match that she was going to beat Rothrock and take her title using her own finisher.
Bout #5 Sebastien Rikard & Lenny Thompson defeated Jerry Fury & Eddie Watts by pinfall when Thompson pinned Watts after a big boot to the face at 7:35 -Fury and Eddie Watts (another local indy guy making his premiere) were overmatched in this bout.
Bout #6 Marla Duncan and Julie Ann Gerhard battled to a double countout at 5:17 -both girls come from a fitness background, so with neither being a good grappler this match degenerated into a brawl outside the ring that saw both counted out. But the girls looked good, so there's always that.
Bout #7 Jerry Lynn defeated Brian Blair after hitting him with brass knuckles at 12:01 -solid match worked at a fairly high pace. Blair's age showed a bit as he liked to slow things down with headlocks, headscissors, and an abdominal stretch. The match had its share of fisticuffs and spilled outside the ring on several occasions. For the most part referee Jurgen Hermann was willing to let them fight, knowing this was a bit of payback for the beat down on a fellow referee. In fact Hermann openly sided with Blair on several occasions. However, all that was to naught as their was a collision that sent Hermann to the mat. Blair picked up Lynn for an atomic drop but Lynn had fished out brass knux and nailed the skull of Blair, shook awake Hermann, and made the pin.
Bout #8 RCW Tag Team Title Match Kevin Sullivan & Nightstalker defeated Baron von Raschke & Brad Rheingans by pinfall when Nightstalker pinned Rheingans after a pumphandle powerslam at 9:23 [Sullivan & Nightstalker won the RCW Tag Team Titles] -Seemed like maybe a bit of a trap laid by Kevin Sullivan as he had a partner in the wings unknown to the champions. When Sullivan brought his big man back to RCW it seemed to throw his opponents right away. Raschke actually played Ricky Morton early on but then it was Sullivan's turn to take a beating. However, Nightstalker managed to catch Rheingans with a big clothesline, a shoulderblock from the 2nd buckle, a diving fist drop and then his finisher. Raschke tried to make the save but Sullivan had gone around the ring and managed to hold onto Raschke as he tried to enter the ring.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Manny Silva defeated Harley Tragger by disqualification for use of a foreign object at 16:24 [Manny Silva retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] Silva started strong by attacking Tragger as he entered the ring. He crotched him on the middle rope, choked him over the top rope, choked him with the tag rope, and then threw him over the top rope. Outside the ring Silva pumped shots into the skull of Tragger, then climbed onto the announce table and from the higher ground continued to punch away, and then bulldogged him to the ground below. Back inside Silva continued the attack with a series of choke holds, playing cat and mouse with referee Jurgen Hermann. A back body drop, snap suplex, float over for a 2 count! Silva then dragged Tragger by his long hair and smashed him head first into each buckle, 1, 2, 3, and Tragger put his foot on the middle buckle to block, and then sent Silva into the buckle. Tragger unleashed a series of shoulderblocks in the corner, and then some uppercuts. Silva managed to muscle Tragger between the ropes and both men spilled to the floor below. Both men used the announce table to steady themselves as they got up. Silva went for a kick, but Tragger countered by catching the foot, spinning Silva, and then clotheslining him. Tragger took a couple steps away and then followed up with a stiff legged boot into the face of the champ. Back inside Tragger worked a bearhug, then a pair of sidewalk slams. Tragger got a couple nearfalls after power moves, and then changed tactics and tried to wear the champ down again with another bearhug followed by an abdominal stretch and then a sleeperhold. Finally the champ was able to extricate himself from trouble by countering the sleeperhold with a jawbreaker. After shaking off the cobwebs the two men traded punches and kicks. Silva then nailed a spinebuster slam got the 1, put his feet on the middle ropes, 2...3...no, no...unbelievable but Hermann actually saw the feet on the ropes and calls for the match to continue. As Silva complains to Hermann he is nailed from behind by Tragger. The collision though also takes out Hermann, and all 3 men fall out of the ring. Silva is up first and grabs a steel chair. He swings at Tragger, but the biker ducks and Silva nails the ringpost...and drops the chair and shakes his arms violently up and down from the vibrations. While he is shaking like a chihuahua, Tragger picks up the steel chair and ~waffles~ Silva in the head. Silva keeters on one leg, and then falls backward..into the arms of Hermann. Unfortunately Hermann saw only the Tragger chair shot and calls for the bell and disqualifies the challenger. Not the best night for the referees.

River City Wrestling #521 May 22, 1993 Winnipeg, Manitoba
Opening Bout The Psycho pinned Dave Gobel by pinfall after a double underhook suplex at 3:23 -enhancement match
Bout #2 Six-Man Tag Match Vlad Petrov & The Super Destroyers (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Mike Lozansky, Billy Two Eagles, and Eddie Watts by pinfall when Petrov pinned Watts after a Russian sickle at 5:06 -squash match with the Bockwinkel Talent Agency taking apart their opponents one at a time, like pulling wings off of flys.
Bout #3 Jacquelyn & Julie Ann Gerhard defeated Marla Duncan & Jennifer Castles by pinfall when Jaquelyn defeated Castles by pinfall after a spinning heel kick at 9:41 -good match, fairly even, but Castles was the weakest link, or maybe she had to handle most of the ring time due to Duncan's being so green. Either way it looked like Gerhard would finish off Castles after a German suplex. However, Jacquelyn tagged herself in off of Gerhard and when her partner complained she threw her over the top rope. Jacquelyn then nailed Castles with a spinning heel kick for good measure; it's obvious she is on a mission to take the belt from Cynthia Rothrock.
Bout #4 Ben Bassarab defeated Animal Harpas by pinfall after a flying crucifix at 10:57 -solid match with good ring psychology. Bassarab used a stick and move attack while Harpas desperately tried to keep up and get his hands on his smaller opponent. Once he did though Harpas used illegal chokes, rope burns, and even bites to inflict punishment. However, the end came when Harpas went for his Asiatic spike finisher but Bassarab countered with an armbar and then put on a flying/rolling crucifix ala the Destroyer to pick up the win.
Post-Match: Harpas attacked Bassarab, dragged him outside the ring and bloodied him with the ring bell before friendly wrestlers came out to break it up.
Bout #5 Brian Blair and Adrian Street battled to a double countout at 12:35 -special appearance being made by the "flamboyant" Street, his first ever appearance in Winnipeg for any promotion. The match went back and forth with lots of old school spots. In the end nothing was settled as the two ignored the refs instructions and just continued to brawl. They ended up brawling right to the back.
Bout #6 Coal Miner's Glove Match Jim Brunzell defeated Jerry Lynn by pinfall after hitting him with the Coal Miner's Glove at 9:24 -a strange but mainstay blow off match for RCW is the Coal Miner's Glove match. The heavy steel glove is hung on a pole above the top turnbuckle. It is the only foreign object allowed to be used in the match and once retrieved can be used, but retrieving and using the glove does not in itself give victory; a pinfall is still required. Brunzell was looking for revenge and the commissioner returned to the ring after a long absence. Lynn seemed a bit afraid of Brunzell, and wrestled desperate trying several times to get the glove before it was a good time. Brunzell pulled him down several times and paid out some punishment. For his part Brunzell seemed more concerned in inflicting damage then he did in winning the bout. However Lynn made a comeback thanks to a chop to the throat and then worked over Brunzell for a couple minutes. At one point Lynn went into his trunks, presumably for the brass knuckles he used last card only to have Brunzell hold onto his forearm to keep his hand down "there, and then delivered a scoop slam. The former High Flyer made his final comeback and after hitting his perfect flying dropkick put on the sleeperhold and put Lynn down. Brunzell then calmly climbed and retrieved the Coal Miner's Glove and waited until Lynn woke up, nailed him with a hard right, then lifted his head off the mat and nailed him a second time. Lynn was out cold and busted wide open. Brunzell covered for the win.
Bout #7 RCW Tag Team Title Match Kevin Sullivan & Nightstalker defeated Baron von Raschke & Brad Rheingans by pinfall when Sullivan pinned Rheingans after a kneebreaker at 11:15 [Sullivan & Nightstalker retained the RCW Tag Titles] -no element of surprise this time in the rematch as the former champs were prepared for the power of the Nightstalker. Even though he is no slouch the former champs pounced on Sullivan and isolated him for a long stretch in this match but could not put him away. Three times Nightstalker came in to break up pin attempts to keep the match alive. Once Nightstalker got tagged in he was dominant, and also fresh. It looked like the champs would easily retain the belts but once Sullivan was tagged in he was besieged again. The former champs mounted a comeback and Raschke took out Nightstalker which allowed Rheingans the chance to beat Sullivan one on one. However, after Sullivan blocked a suplex attempt he nailed a kneebreaker on Rheingans. He must have caught him "just so" because Rheingans crumpled in a heap grabbing his knee. There was no real kick out attempt as Sullivan made the pin. After the bout Raschke had to help Rheingans limp on one leg back to the dressing room.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match Manny Silva defeated Harley Tragger by pinfall after a wheelbarrow suplex at 20:21 [Manny Silva retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] -This match was an all out slobberknocker from the moment Silva stepped into the ring, with neither man waiting for the bell to sound. Lots of punches, kicks, accentuated with the occasional bodyslam, atomic drop, and elbowsmash (just to give the fists a break). Finally Silva slowed the action down with a standing side headlock, then down to the mat and a front facelock which he would slip into a choke until referee Jurgen Hermann called for a break. Tragger sent the champ to the ropes but he was still groggy and Silva knocked him on his butt. The champ then used the top ropes to lean on while he stomped away at Tragger. The champ then took the match outside and tossed Tragger around. Back inside the champ went for a piledriver but Tragger countered with a back body drop. Silva was on him again with an armbar, but this time Tragger was able to summon a response with some fists to the noggin. Tragger went on the offense with a series of boots that backed the champ into the buckle. Harley followed him in with an elbowsmash, laid in a couple more, and then came out with a spinning spinebuster slam, for a 2 count. Tragger tried for a figure-four but the champ kicked him off. The two then went through another series of trading kicks and punches as the fans settled in for what looked to be a war of attrition. Tragger grabbed the advantage and came off the top rope with a reverse mat slam, and covered for a 2 count. A waistlock suplex yielded another 2 count. Silva stopped the challenger in his tracks though with a backward mule kick to the groin, unseen by Hermann. After catching his breath Silva laid in a couple of forearm uppercuts, and then a clothesline, for a 1 count. Silva then tried to finish things with a hot shot, but only got another 1 count. Silva then went back on top of the challenger and put on a belly to belly wristlock which took the fans a bit to figure out what he was doing. Tragger had to not only break the hold but also try and keep from being pinned. Finally Silva rolled him over into an armbar. Growing bored of not getting the submission the champ then tried for a chokeslam suplex but again only got a 2 count. This time Tragger managed to escape out of the ring but the champ went right after him. Silva smashed the challenger's head off the ring table, but then Tragger lashed out with an elbow to the solar plexus. Tragger then returned the favor smashing the champ's head off the announce table, before taking the match back inside. Tragger whipped the champ to the ropes and rocked him with a flying clothesline. This was followed by a powerslam, but the pin attempt was too close to the ropes and Silva draped a foot over after the 2 count. Tragger pulled Silva up by the hair, but the champ retaliated with a headbutt to the chest again to the challenger. He then nailed a belly to belly suplex, then picked up Tragger from the mat and hit his finisher wheelbarrow suplex for the win.

River City Wrestling #522June 5, 1993 Brandon, Manitoba
RCW ventures away from the Winnipeg city limits for the first time since January 1st, a couple hours down the highway to the Brandon's Keystone Centre. Opening Bout El Diablo defeated The Psycho by pinfall after a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker at 4:21 -squash match, premiere of a masked wrestler from Mexico (a rare occurrence back then).
Bout #2 Sebastien Rikard & Lenny Thompson defeated Billy Two Eagles & Jerry Fury by pinfall when Thompson pinned Fury after a big boot to the face at 7:10 -fairly easy match for Rikard and Thompson who have been teaming for a while with some success but no real sniff at the title. Now the tag titles are being held by villains Sullivan & Nightstalker so it's not clear what is in store for this duo.
Bout #3 Super Destroyer 2001 (/w Nick Bockwinkel) defeated Mike Lozansky by pinfall after a flying clothesline from the 2nd buckle at 6:36 -Lozansky had his moments but SD was too big and powerful.
Bout #4 Ben Bassarab defeated Jerry Lynn by pinfall after a flying crossbody block at 15:29 -rematch of sorts to the match of the year from 1992, but this time Lynn comes in as a villain instead of the two both being fan favourites. Lynn showed no issues with cheating, but both men got into the act including biting, eye gouging, not to mention some great chain wrestlings and more suplexes then could be counted. In the end Lynn got cocky. He nailed Bassarab with the cradle piledriver finisher but instead of going to a pin attempt he wagged his finger no and climbed to the top. He decided to go for Bassarab's flying crossbody block finisher, but Bassarab rolled through it and slammed Lynn to the mat. Both men were down but Bassarab got up first, kicked Lynn in the gut, then nailed him with a cradle piledriver. For good measure he then climbed to the top and hit his own finisher the flying crossbody block and got the win.
Bout #5 North American Women's Title Match Jacquelyn defeated Cynthia Rothrock by pinfall after a belly to back roll over cradle (and a handful of tights) at 12:14 [Jacquelyn Wins the North American Women's Title] Rothrock started strong with her back to the ropes she managed to keep Jacquelyn (Jackie Moore) at bay with kicks and open hand strikes. However Jacquelyn managed to get by her defenses and take her down with a single leg. Jacquelyn then worked over the leg, specifically her plant leg to try and take away the power of her spinning heel kick finisher. Picking it up a notch the challenger got a 2 count after a slingshot suplex, and then another 2 count after a second rope splash. The champion though battled back with a knee to the midsection, then took some more punishment from closed fists, before she fought back fire with fire, punches to the head, then after creating some distance a pair of Savate kicks. The champ then punished the challenger by turning her over into a Boston crab but Jacquelyn managed to inch her way to the ropes to get the break. The challenger reversed a whip to the buckle, sent the champion in, followed her in, got behind her, vaulted off the second buckle and took Rothrock down with a big bulldog, and got a 2 count. Nobody has been able to handle Rothrock like this in a wrestling ring. The two traded a few short advantages of armbars, whips to the corner, clotheslines, that sort of thing. Finally Rothrock went for her spinning heel kick, but you could tell that plant leg was still not 100% and it was slow and clumsy. Jacquelyn ducked under, grabbing the leg from a crouch and delivered a gut punch to the champ, and then followed this up with a jumping DDT, for the 1, 2..kickout. Back on their feet and the challenger threw the champ with a release German suplex, both staggered up and then..BOOM...Jacquelyn nailed Rothrock with a spinning heel kick (the champ's own finisher, a move she has been touting for weeks now)..covered for 1, 2, KICKOUT!! Frustrated the challenger smacked the mat, then rolled up Rothrock for 1, grabbed the tights, 2, 3!! NEW CHAMPION!! Bout #6 RCW Heritage Title Match Baron von Raschke defeated Super Destroyer 2000 (/w Nick Bockwinkel) by submission to the clawhold at 5:42 [Baron von Raschke retained the RCW Heritage Title] -this match was originally advertised as Vlad Petrov but Bockwinkel subbed in one of his Super Destroyers. Bockwinkel announced to the crowd that the Bockwinkel Talent Agency had fired Petrov and that his replacement had been hired and was backstage right now getting to know the boys. Raschke didn't seem impressed and he grabbed Bockwinkel by the neck and threw him over the top rope and out of the ring. SD attacked Raschke from behind and the ringbell sounded to start the bout. SD used his power to punish the champ for the first 4 minutes of this match, just relentless, and got 4 near falls. Finally Raschke battled back with an elbowsmash between the eyes, a headbutt, and then several kicks. This was followed by a pair of running clotheslines and then a thundering backbody drop. As SD got to his feet Raschke locked the clawhold on. Bockwinkel jumped onto the apron so Raschke went to eject him but got tangled up with the manager, and so SD attacked from behind, but the veteran Raschke moved out of the way! SD took out Bock and turned around again right into the clawhold. After a scant 10 seconds or so the challenger cried no mas.
Post-Match: Immediately after the win Super Destroyer 2001 hit the ring to attack Raschke, but the German fought back...only to have the new member of the Talent Agency..the return of The Soultaker...come in and attack from behind. Soultaker pounded away at Raschke with help from the SD's. Soultaker had Raschke set up for a piledriver while the Super Destroyer 2001 was on top of the buckle. Brunzell and Blair hit the ring to clear out the Talent Agency, but not until after the stuffed piledriver was delivered. It took paramedics several minutes to check out Raschke before allowing him to get up under his own steam and walk out with the title belt.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Brian Blair defeated Manny Silva by reverse decision at 12:58 [Manny Silva retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] Silva started the match with a series of kicks and punches, turnbuckle headsmashes, and a piledriver...and got an early 2 count. An abdominal stretch and a Boston crab worked the back of Blair and slowed the pace of the match. Frustrated Silva then worked a front facelock that he worked into a chokehold again and again. Unable to take it anymore Blair fought back with a chop to the throat of Silva, and then a double handed chokehold. Silva left the ring and Blair gave chase. The challenger smashed Silva's head off the ring apron and then threw him into the ringpost. Blair made a mistake though charging after Silva and wrecked himself into the post. Back inside the ring Silva nailed a strange 6 straight bodyslams, stopping only for a boot rake after each one. Silva continued to punish Blair for a couple minutes but couldn't put the match away, and then Blair made a comeback and nailed some dropkicks, Mexican armdrags, atomic drop, and then a moonsault for a 2 count. Silva though took the match back by going to the throat again. First it was hidden chokes, then more blatant. A chokeslam only got a 2 count, so then the champ hit his wheelbarrow finisher and got 1, 2...Blair got his foot on the ropes. Then Silva dropped Blair throat first on the top rope. Blair's hands went to his throat making him easy pickings for the champ to stomp away at him and then pick him up and deliver another wheelbarrow suplex. Silva moved in for the pin but before he could make the cover referee Jurgen Hermann called for the bell and the medics. Silva tried to close in and laid a couple more boots to Blair but then backed off as the medics came in to attend to Blair who was having problems breathing. Silva then threw both medics out of the ring and wrapped the top 2 strands around Blair's throat trying to choke him out. Jim Brunzell was first on the scene grabbing a steel chair on the way and ~waffled~ Silva in the head, and then turned his attention to helping Blair. Brunzell untangled his former partner from the ropes but by then Silva was recovered and smashed Brunzell in the back of the head. The ring started to fill with wrestlers though so Silva took a powder, grabbed his title belt and left. Jurgen Hermann announced that originally the decision was Silva won by referee decision - stoppage, but he has now reversed his decision due to Silva's actions and awarded the match to Blair. Cold comfort for Blair who looked rather purple.
