I installed DosBox but I have to download the program now. Is there a step by step I can use to help with this? How do I download and open the program through Dosbox?

To clarify, I've downloaded Dosbox, but when i extract the TNM files, I get an error message. I need a step by step from the point where I extract the TNM files.

Have you tried installing TNM via Windows rather than via DOSbox (use DOSbox to run TNM)? At least unzip the tnm7se-build6.zip file in Windows.
I have DOSbox .72 in which you do the following to run a program: 1) start DOSbox 2) mount C: C:\whateveryourtnmdirectoryis 3) C: 4) tnm
When you've exited TNM the command to close DOSbox is exit.
If you need to try to install in DOSbox because you are unable to run the install normally in Windows, instead of "tnm" type whatever the installer EXE is named (I think the default file name is "tnm7se").

When I download the file, I then extract it which creates another folder, I have windows XP Home Premium so I can't use XP mode and I've tried to use Virtual Box as well, don't think I can. I don't know if there's something Im' doing wrong with the extraction process or if I'm just ignorant on how to use DosBox Have you tried installing TNM via Windows rather than via DOSbox (use DOSbox to run TNM)? Update, I got the extraction file up and running, but now when I go into the new directory I can type c:\ to get the c directory, then when I type in TNM I get "Illegal command: start."

I also installed DosBox...and keep getting an error message. I have not bought the game, as I wanted to check it out first. I downloaded the trial seveeral times, and continue to get an error message. Am I doing something wrong? Or is the game not compatible with what I am running? Any help would be appreciated. Also...I have tried looking over the "Booking Sheets" and keep getting redirected to some AOL site. Once there, I can't find what I'm looking for. Help here is also appreciated. Thanks, Greg

Thanks, Greg I can get through the installation phase, then I get sent back out to DosBox, and I go through the steps listed above, but it's just when I type in TNM I get the illegal start command and have to close DosBox

I've never had to use DosBox, so I won't be of much help. DosBox sounds like regular DOS to me with the commands Liller was using. I loved DOS. Anyways...
If you guys continue to have problems the best way to get a response from Oliver Copp to help is to find him on Facebook. You don't need to 'Friend' him if you don't want to, but send him a private message. He has Landshut, Germany listed as his hometown. He's pretty good at getting people help on there if you let him know what is going wrong.

If you have XP you usually don't need DOSbox. It's only normally needed for Windows 7, 64-bit versions of Windows, and occasionally Vista (and often times not always). You might want to run the install file (and TNM itself, if you get it installed) in Win95/98 compatibility mode (right click the EXE/BAT file -> Properties -> check off Win95/98 Compatibility). Without fiddling with DOSbox, you should be able to just unzip the "tnm7se.zip" file which will give you "tnm7se.exe" Double click that and it should run the the installer which will ask you what directory you want to install the program in. If that's not working, I recommend contacting Oliver as JoshiQ said: tnm-support@hexacon.de or via Facebook Also...I have tried looking over the "Booking Sheets" and keep getting redirected to some AOL site. The link used to go to Rick Garrard's TNM site, but apparently that's gone bye-bye. Thanks for the heads up; I'll remove the link. I've never had to use DosBox, so I won't be of much help. I'm amazed I still can function in DOS, but it helps I spent about a decade primarily using DOS before getting Win98.

See I can run the instillation process through DosBox, but when I go to actually run the program, I get that illegal command: start. line. If you have XP you usually don't need DOSbox. That happened to me for a long time and became very frustrating. For me the problem was I was trying to use an old TNM7, build 5 I guess. When I downloaded the trial for Build 6, it loaded up fine. I have to pay for it again I guess, but at least I can get it to work.
Another option is to try VirtualBox. I got it to run on there as well, but it seems slower to me than Dosbox.
