International Championship Wrestling
Premise: Following months of speculation, Vince McMahon and the WWF bought the assets and intellectual property of WCW in the first quarter of 2001. The promotion was subsequently integrated in the WWF as an invasion angle (also involving ECW). Several top WCW stars became WWF stars while others lost their jobs. Some wrestlers who were under contract with Time Warner were unable to compete for the WWF for a period of time. Most of them joined either TNA (in 2002), Japanese federations or the WWF when their non-compete covenants expired.
International Championship Wrestling was created in Boston a few weeks following the WCW buyout and will start its operations in May 2001. For the moment, the company has chosen to promote two shows per month with every 4th card being a supercard. Former longtime WWF superstar Tito Santana has been appointed by the ICW Board of directors as its president and will look into all wrestling related matters.
Special Rules: The WWF has signed most important WCW workers. Their new contracts all have non-compete clauses which means they cannot leave for any promotion before at least 2 years from the buyout. These are the wrestlers concerned by such rule: Mike Awesome, Hugh Morrus, DDP, Booker T, Lance Storm, Chavo Guerrero Jr, Shawn Stasiak, Johnny the Bull, Shane Helms, Shannon Moore, Evan Karagias, Chuck Palombo, Sean O’Haire, Mike Sanders, Mark Jindrak, Elix Skipper, Kwee Wee, Lash LeRoux, The Wall, Kaz Hayashi, Jamie Knoble, Yun Yang, Stacey Kiebler, Reno, Jason Jett, Kid Romeo, Billy Kidman, Torrie Wilson, Chris Kanyon, Bryan Clark and Brian Adams.
Other wrestlers who are not available for hire: Ric Flair (strong WWF ties after buyout), Sid Vicious (severe leg injury), Dustin Rhodes (father Dusty was starting TWF at the same time), Kevin Nash (had just lost retirement match at last WCW PPV), Alex Wright (retired as of buyout).

Most of my booking is done for the couple months. I hope to start running the cards in TNM this week and will try to be as regular as possible. It’s been past 10 years since I’ve posted one of my circuits (last time was on the Yahoo and then Topica mailing lists!) and I’m really looking forward to this one. First card is scheduled for May 12, 2001 live from Boston!
