So, I'm an eternal pessimist who has been entirely been too big into wrestling for a long time. I started watching(that I can remember coherently) in '88. You have points where you leave and don't watch, I've definitely had those but tonight is one of those nights where you point to and say "THIS! THIS IS WHY I LOVE WRESTLING" Tonight's PPV was without hyperbole one of the best events in wrestling in quite some time. Despite some botches in the MitB matches both of those were good, Show/Henry was awesome, Orton/Christian could have been a double turn but people just love Orton so it didn't come to that. Then we moved to the main event.
HOooooly shit. The best Cena match ever, definitely his best match since the No DQ match against Umaga at the Royal Rumble several years back. Great stuff, Punk leaves with the title and runs through the crowd. The pessimist in me will only wait for them to drop the ball but right now? They have booked perfection and have left me WANTING to watch their shows for the first time in a while. Great stuff.

CM Punk did in 4 weeks with a microphone something that TNA and WWE haven't been able to do in roughly 4 years:
Get me to buy a PPV that isn't WrestleMania (something I do out of tradition more than anything).
And, happilly, it was a good, rather than a bad PPV (Who'd have thought Bryan Danielson would EVER be, for all intents and purposes, the #1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship in WWE?)

I couldn't agree more. Best show in YEARS. Both MitB matches were very good. Some botches, yes, but in a match like that, I feel it hurts them slightly if everything is PERFECT. When things go just a little off on certain spots, it adds to the realism for me. They're fucking with ladders, after all.
Show/Henry was good. Orton/Christian was a great use of the stips and great use of psychology. Christian spitting in Orton's face to get him to DQ himself was a brilliant touch, especially given Orton's association with spitting in faces.
Main event speaks for itself. So happy it wasn't just Punk working. Cena brought it, and it came off as special.
I brought my best friend with me to the bar to watch it, and he's not particularly a wrestling fan, and he loved it. This show just felt special.

I was seriously thinking of calling around last night to find a sports bar that was showing the PPV, but I wasn't feeling so great so I ended up not. Really regretting that now.
