Pretty simple question really. How do you guys write your cards? Do you write a match, take a break for a day, and write another the next? Do you write it all in one sitting? Do you listen to music? TV?
I've come on to a fun way, in my opinion. I turn on a TV show that I am into and write on the commercial breaks. I try to get at least one segment done each break. If I don't get it done in time, I pause the show, and finish the segment, and then go back to the TV show. It helps me not get too bored, and it helps with my self-diagnosed ADD of needing to do multiple things at once. I can usually pump out a card within an hour this way.
I used to get pretty drunk while writing, but I'm trying to put an end to all drinking in my life, and this has been a way to take care of the writing aspect of my life that I didn't think I'd be able to do without it.
Just thought it'd be fun to see how you guys do it?

I don't really write cards for other people to view mainly because of people like u n ryan. You set a high standard. So my style is more like olivers. But I usually tnm while watching tv. It usually takes some time planning a card but heading into the actual write up and simming its relatively painless. I hate bookin no shows. Wish I had the skills in that department that you have lol. I have recently also quit drinking. Its hard sometimes good luck

I generally write while watching wrestling - either RAW, Smackdown, a DVD, justin.tv. I tend to just watch a lot of wrestling anyway, and so it makes it easy to get into that mindset. I try to write as much of the card in one sitting as I can, just because it's easy to lose the flow of the show if you come back to it too many times. But obviously, this is often easier said than done. I also always write the match writeups and segments AFTER simming the card, never as I'm going. That way, I can account for all injuries, no-shows, angles I come up with on the fly, etc. as logically as possible. But most importantly, I try not to force myself to write. If I'm not feeling it, I'm not feeling it, and trying to force it is going to lead to a shitty card. Oh, and murphy, you should post anyway. The community is small enough as is, and new circuits are always welcomed.

I agree with Ryan, Murphy. I would love to see a TNM circuit like Oliver's or anything else posted on here. I'm dying for stuff to read and I thought that the community was growing again awhile back, but it now seems to be dying down even worse than before.
I know that wrestlingfigs.com has some fantasy booking on their forums. I've thought about trying to find a way to see if we could get a link posted in there or something, but I haven't read much to see what exactly they do, if it's any good, or worth the attempt.

I watch TV simultaneously as well, usually a WWE or Chikara show or a soccer match. TV shows work too, but then I usually don't pay as much attention to neither the show or my card I spend an entire session after every PPV outlining every TV show leading up to the next PPV, so that when I sim/write cards, it goes pretty quickly. I usually spend ca. 1 hour pr. card. Being able to write touch without looking does really help, as do having a clear idea of what's going on in my circuit. Booking ideas pop into my head all day, be it while trying to sleep, while out running or sitting on the can.

Usually my background noise is TV or music while I write. I always do write ups after I run the card that way if no-shows or injuries occur I can deal with them right out. Plus if something unexpected happens like unbooked interference I can see if it fits the plans for the next show.

I usually write in silence, and really always have. It kinda forces me to focus on the card, because I've always had a problem with getting "burnt out" with it. But, I'm thinking the TV thing might make a big difference there. It's something I'll have to try. I've also found it very, very hard to book more then a week in advance, and always have. I guess, because I'm out of the wrestling mindset (not watching it as much, etc.), I tend to lose the ability to tell a good story. I agree with the thought that Ryan's and Josh's circuits. They do set a pretty high standard, and I try not to write for other people; it just ends up that way
