NAWA Glory 12/29/06
We see a recap of the events of last week involving Teddy Hart and Abyss, leading to Abyss being banned from the building for the next month from being in any matches held in front of NAWA fans. This lead to Larry Sweeney making an Empty Arena Match between Teddy Hart and Abyss in five days time on January 3rd 2007 but Sweeney has another problem, no referee, as NAWA officials refused to referee that huge main event match and if he cannot find a referee, then the match is off.
But before that, Teddy Hart has a tough challenge against the NAWA International Champion Jerry Lynn. The NAWA World Champion vs. the NAWA International Champion, no belts, just bragging rights. Also, Harry Harris and Miles Stylish will have yet another chapter of their feud on January 3rd 2007 when they go one on one, but tonight six man tag team match, featuring Team 3D and Harry Harris taking on Miles Stylish, Nigel McGuinness, and Ron Killings. Plus the NAWA Television Championship on the line, when AJ Styles challenges Sederick Skyhawk.
The final NAWA Glory in 2006 and “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins plays and out comes Harry Harris to open things up. It has been ten days since we’ve seen Harry Harris, after he was carried from the ring after ending Samoa Joe’s undefeated streak by rendering him absolutely unconscious in that deadly triangle choke. Harry Harris steps into the ring, to a favorable fan reaction, talking about how 2006 is nearly in the books but it ended with a bang, when he became the first person to defeat Samoa Joe in a one on one contest. Harry Harris talks about how there have been rave reviews for his match and he says that he considers his business with Joe finished, moving onto step three for his quest to regain the NAWA World Title. That being a match with Miles Stylish on January 3rd 2007, on 5 Years of NAWA Glory.
“Sharp Dressed Man” by ZZ Top kicks out and Miles Stylish comes out, to talk about how in all of their many matches, Harry Harris has only managed to pin Miles Stylish in the center of the ring once and let’s face it, even the blind squirrel finds a nut once a while. Harry Harris pauses, before saying that he won his match at StarClash 06 and he can’t quite recall what Stylish did, which causes the fans to helpfully chant “YOU TAPPED OUT!” to Stylish, much to his dismay. Stylish opens his mouth about three times to speak but the chants get louder and Stylish can’t get a word in, so he gives Harry Harris a rather murderous glare, before leaving. Him losing to Kurt Angle back at StarClash 06 is a sore subject for Miles Stylish and Harry Harris struck a nerve. Harry Harris concludes with next week, step three for his quest to regain the NAWA World Title will happen when he beats Miles Stylish.
Coming up next, the NAWA Television Title will be on the line, when Sederick Skyhawk defends against AJ Styles.

NAWA Television Title Match
AJ Styles vs. Sederick Skyhawk©(w/Tomko and Candace Sweet)
AJ Styles really does comes out flying right at the bell but Tomko manages to cheapshot Styles, which allows Skyhawk to take advantage of this match, wearing down Styles with some slow, mat based offense, but Styles keeps fighting. Skyhawk hits a huge neckbreaker and a springboard legdrop right to the chest for a two count. Styles is beaten on for some more but he lands on his feet with a belly to belly suplex and then dropkick to Skyhawk. Styles is beating on Skyhawk and a spinning leg lariat, sets up a springboard clothesline but Skyhawk gets taken down for a two count. Styles takes out Tomko with a baseball slide as he tries to interfere and Asai Moonsault into an inverted DDT cannot put down the champion. Springboard 450 Splash is avoided but Styles lands on his feet and falls right into a DDT for a two count. Skyhawk goes for the Brush with Greatness but Styles counters and Pele Kick brings him down. To the outside and Springboard 450 Splash connects and Styles has Skyhawk down, but the time runs out, signifying the end of the television time limit!
Sederick Skyhawk and AJ Styles battled to a draw in 0:15:00.
Rating: *** 1/4
(Sederick Skyhawk retained the NAWA Television Title.)
Styles is not too happy and Tomko immediately enters the ring and a huge clothesline mows down Styles. Tomko hits a spinning slam on Styles but the crowd is cheering as Christopher Daniels runs from the back, ducking a big boot from Tomko and punch to the chest. Another punch right to the chest and Daniels hits a huge Rocker Dropper. The fans are making a bit of noise as Shawn Stasiak enters the ring and attacks Daniels from behind. Stasiak spends time posing as Daniels is down and now Daniels pops up and spinning heel kick takes Stasiak down. Styles is up and double dropkick on Stasiak, as Skyhawk, Tomko, and Candace Sweet leave the ring and Stasiak tries to attack Styles and Daniels again but he eats a second double dropkick. Stasiak rolls to the floor, staggering to the back, as Skyhawk is still the NAWA Television Champion but with a few more seconds, AJ Styles could have gotten the win.
We cut to the back, where Homicide says that Bryan Danielson might have gotten lucky beating his partner, Low Ki, back at StarClash 06, and Ron Killings last week, but he’s going to have a tough battle against the only dual champion in the NAWA today, the NAWA Cruiserweight Champion and one half of the NAWA Tag Team Champions, Homicide. Cut to Bryan Danielson says that he’s back, better than ever, and he never got his return shot after losing the Cruiserweight Title, so he’s heading right into the ring against Homicide ready to go and stake his claim for a title match.
Up next, the NAWA Cruiserweight Champion Homicide takes on Bryan Danielson. More NAWA Glory after this time out.
[COMMERCIAL]
Bryan Danielson vs. Homicide
A chop battle starts out this match, with Bryan Danielson winning the battle. Danielson wrestles Homicide down to the match, punishing him with a number of submission moves, but Homicide goes low and beats on Danielson. A huge running Yakuza Kick to a kneeling Danielson, sets up a huge springboard elbow drop right for a two count. Homicide beats on Danielson, before drilling him with a series of uppercuts and a huge brain buster for a two and nine tenths count. Homicide beats on Danielson and goes for the Gringo Cutter, but Danielson fights out and huge dropkick. He beats on Homicide, but Homicide returns fire, hitting a huge lariat for a two count. Homicide goes to the top rope but Danielson dropkicks him on the way down. A series of elbow strikes and Danielson hooks the arms, before flipping over, Cattle Mutilation but Danielson cannot really get it on, before Homicide is in the ropes. Kneelift and airplane spin but Homicide drops down and elbowsmash to Danielson. Lariat connects once again for another nearfall and now Homicide goes for the Gringo Killer but Danielson drops down, hooking the arms, and hitting a dragon suplex, bridging for the pin!
Bryan Danielson pinned Homicide after a dragon suplex in 0:12:46.
Rating: ****
Bryan Danielson gets the win and he’s right into the Cruiserweight Title hunt pinning the champion in a non title match, which has to bode well for his title shot.
Backstage:
Dan Marion is standing by with the Motor City Machine Guns, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley. Next week, Alex Shelley takes on Austin Aries in a Best Two Out of Three Falls Match, to settle the score that is 1-1 in the rubber match for next week. However, the Motor City Machine Guns are after those NAWA World Tag Team Titles held by Low Ki and Homicide, the Rottweilers. The last time they had the Rottweilers in the ring, they had the titles won, but Austin Aries saved their asses. Next time, they’ll become the NAWA World Tag Team Champions. In come the Briscoe Brothers, who say that the Motor City Machine Guns already got their shot and last week, they had the Rottweilers running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Sabin quips, asking how a chicken could run, if it was decapitated and Jay Briscoe tells Sabin to watch his tongue. Mark says they are all about fighting, hunting, drinking beer, and breaking in bitches and he sees two bitches right in front of him. The Guns and the Briscoe Brothers get into a scuffle. Security runs out, as these two tag teams continue to pound on each other. They are broken up, as Mark says next time, they’re going to beat their Yankee fairy asses.
Coming Up Next, Awesome Kong is in action. The brand new NAWA Women’s Champion, as we show the last couple of minutes of the Women’s Title Match last week and the valiant effort that Mia Stylish had before she went down.
[COMMERCIAL]
Serena Deeb vs. Awesome Kong
Serena Deeb, a new addition to the NAWA Women’s division, got a trial by fire against Awesome Kong tonight. She managed to batter the champion for a brief moment but Kong just slowly picked her apart, battering her. Torture Rack punishes Deeb but Kong drops her and murders Deeb with a huge spinning back fist and then Awesome Bomb scores the pin on Serena Deeb.
Awesome Kong pinned Serena Deeb with the Awesome Bomb in 0:05:01.
Rating: * ¾
Kong destroys Deeb some more after the match but the former NAWA Women’s Champion Mia Stylish runs down to the ringside area and springboard clothesline knocks Kong backwards. Kong staggers back and Mia Stylish ducks and leaps on Kong’s back, trying to apply a sleeperhold on Kong but Kong flips her back onto her feet. Kong nails Mia Stylish with a huge spinning back fist. Stylish crumples to the canvas and Kong beats on Mia Stylish, dragging her around the ring but Stylish fights back, until security is out to pull Kong away. Mia Stylish dives over the top rope, right onto Kong and security and beats on her! The fans are going insane, but Kong grabs her by the throat, before shoving her into the guardrail but security is in right away, as we don’t need any more incidents with fans like what happened last week. More security and officials are out and both women are separated, to chants of “LET THEM FIGHT!”
We cut to earlier this week in an empty arena, where Dan Marion is standing by with Teddy Hart. Marion talks about how on January 3rd 2007, Teddy Hart will step into an arena much like this one, with no fans, no security, not even a popcorn vendor, to defend his NAWA World Title against Abyss in an Empty Arena Match. Once Abyss and Hart are in the arena, all exits will be locked and they’ll only be opened when there is a winner. Hart talks about how last week, Abyss crossed a line by putting fans in danger and hurting a couple of them. The fans make “this”(pointing to the NAWA World Title), look like all that much more. And now, they won’t be there on January 3rd 2007. Teddy Hart says that he feels like that one character in a horror movie that after everyone is killed off, they stand alone against the villain. But that character always wins and Teddy Hart vows to do the same or die trying. Marion states that Abyss might be more horrifying than any horror movie villain and Hart says that he might have a point, but when he puts that NAWA World Title on the line, no matter when, no matter how, he fights to keep the belt. For years he fought to get this title and he’s not going to go down without a fight, even if it is his last fight. We fade out on that note, as hype for the Empty Arena Match on January 3rd 2007, but we should note that as of this moment, we still don’t a referee for this match but Larry Sweeney is frantically searching and hopefully by the end of the night, we’ll know.
We cut to Jerry Lynn standing by, talking about how Teddy Hart has his mind on Abyss, but he really should be focused on his opponent tonight, that being Jerry Lynn. Lynn hints that Teddy Hart might be fortunate enough to be so injured that he wouldn’t be able to enter the Empty Arena with Abyss if Lynn gets done with him. Lynn raises a good point, if Teddy Hart is looking past his opponent tonight, Jerry Lynn, to Abyss, he’s doomed. Still to come, champion vs. champion, Teddy Hart vs. Jerry Lynn but coming up next, six man tag team action, with Team 3D and Harry Harris taking on Nigel McGuinness, Ron Killings, and Miles Stylish.
[COMMERCIAL]
Team 3D and Harry Harris vs. Ron Killings, Nigel McGuinness, and Miles Stylish
Harry Harris spends a great deal of this match standing on the ring apron, due to him still not being one hundred percent because of the match with Samoa Joe back at StarClash 06. Team 3D batters their opponents for this match, before Brother Devon is trapped in the corner and beaten down three on one. A lot of close nearfalls, including an extended time in a Dragon Sleeper and McGuinness hitting the Tower of London but the pin keeps getting broken up. Eventually Devon catches Stylish coming off the top rope with a huge spinebuster and rolls to the corner. Hot tag made to Harry Harris, as he enters the ring, a house of fire. McGuinness and Stylish are both punched on the apron and Harris hits a tilt a whirl suplex right onto Killings for a two count. A couple more nearfalls and all six men are in the ring, but Brother Ray clotheslines McGuinness out, as Devon beats on Stylish. Killings is removing the turnbuckle padding but Harry Harris low blows Killings and slams him right into the exposed turnbuckle right behind the back of the referee! Harris quickly reties the turnbuckle pad before the referee can turn around, putting his finger to his mouth and going “shhh” to the fans, before applying a triangle choke to Killings! Killings has no choice to tap out, as Team 3D hold Stylish and McGuinness at bay.
Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) and Harry Harris defeated
Ron Killings, Nigel McGuinness and Miles Stylish when Harris made Killings
submit to a triangle choke in 0:15:42.
Rating: *** ¼
Team 3D and Harry Harris get the win, as Miles Stylish yells that it will be the end of Harris on January 3rd 2007. That will be your main event in the arena in front of the fans, with naturally the Empty Arena Match being the final match, providing we can find that referee, which with nearly a half of an hour to go, we still don’t have any answer.
Backstage:
Sederick Skyhawk and Candace Sweet are screaming at Shawn Stasiak as Tomko sits in the background, calming doing a crossword puzzle. Candace says she invested a lot of money and Shawn Stasiak has been worth less than dryer lint so far and tonight, he screwed up again. Skyhawk says that he never wanted Stasiak in Sederick Skyhawk Productions and he ran out, thus making a mockery out of him again. Now they got to take care of Christopher Daniels once and for all and as Candace and Skyhawk try and plot their next move, Stasiak slips right out of the side of the locker room and looks to be heading towards the ringside area. What will happen now?
Don’t you touch that remote. More NAWA Glory after this.
[COMMERCIAL]
Shawn Stasiak enters the ring, dressed in his elaborate robe, calling for the microphone. He says that tonight, Sederick Skyhawk Productions needs to take care of Christopher Daniels and he’s no dummy, he knows what that means, he knows that he needs to step into the ring and give Daniels a thrashing. He calls out Christopher Daniels and Daniels comes out, dressed in street clothes. Daniels says he’s almost insulted this is what Sederick Skyhawk and Candace Sweet sent after him, obviously the bleach that they use to dye their hair must be finally be seeping into their brains. Stasiak says that Daniels is a little pip squeak and he should shut up. Stasiak says that he’ll bust Daniels in half and Daniels shakes his head, saying that years ago, Stasiak was good for nothing other than carrying Disco Inferno’s bags, getting his coffee, and picking up his dry cleaning in the NAWA and he seems like he has somehow regressed. Stasiak yells for Daniels to shut up and yells that he’ll be a star and he’ll win the Luck of the Draw Match and become the NAWA World Champion. Daniels cannot keep a straight face at this one and Stasiak says that he’s come out here to show the fans that all of the moves in the world don’t mean jack when you have the look of the superstar and the “it” factor. Daniels says that by adding the letters s and h in front of “it” and you have his opinion on Stasiak. Stasiak says that Daniels has a smart mouth but he’s going to shut it. Daniels says he normally would be bothered about not having his gear, but this shouldn’t take too long.
Christopher Daniels vs. Shawn Stasiak
Stasiak trips over his robe and Daniels grabs him, before hitting the Angel’s Wings and scores the pin.
Christopher Daniels pinned Shawn Stasiak with the Angel’s Wings in

Rating: *
Daniels gets the win and is jumped from behind by Sederick Skyhawk, with the NAWA Television Title being driven to the back of his head. We are to the back, as AJ Styles is being beaten down by Tomko in the back and Stasiak staggers to his feet and covers Daniels hooking the leg, and says, “come on referee, count!” Skyhawk looks disgusted and leaves the ring, as Stasiak parades around like he got the win, but Candace Sweet is out, yelling at Stasiak to never take any matches without her permission ever again. Stasiak tries to protest that he won but Tomko is out to grab Stasiak by the ear and once again drag him to the back, for another stern lecture.
Backstage:
Larry Sweeney looks frantic, as he slams down the phone, having not gotten any bites for his referee but there is a knock outside the door. In enters Kurt Angle. Angle says that he heard about Sweeney’s problems about finding a referee and Kurt Angle says that he is fearless, he won his Olympic Gold Medal with a broken neck, and he would be happy to referee the Empty Arena Match on January 3rd 2007, under one condition. Sweeney asks Angle what that condition might be and Kurt Angle says that he wants the next NAWA World Title Shot. Sweeney agrees and we have a referee and thus the Empty Match Arena Match is now on. Kurt Angle will referee on January 3rd 2007, when Abyss challenges the NAWA World Champion Teddy Hart for the title in the Empty Arena Match.
Coming up next, its main event time, Jerry Lynn takes on Teddy Hart, The NAWA International Champion vs. the NAWA World Champion. No belts on the line, just bragging rights.
[COMMERCIAL]
Two more matches announced for Five Years of NAWA Glory, with Jerry Lynn defending the NAWA International Title against the Gambler in the Gambler’s return shot at the title. Also, Christopher Daniels takes on AJ Styles in a number one contendership match for the NAWA Television Title.
Kurt Angle is out to the ringside area, to join us for some commentary, as he hypes up his refereeing duties in the Empty Arena Match and his future NAWA World Title Shot. He says that he will call the match down the middle.
NAWA World Champion Teddy Hart vs. NAWA International Champion Jerry Lynn
Chain wrestling to start, with Teddy Hart managing to get the better of that exchange, before he sends Jerry Lynn right to the floor and launches himself to the outside with a pescado. The announcers speculate that Teddy Hart might be in a no win situation, as well its prudent to wrestle at a relaxed rate to conserve himself for the Empty Arena Match, if he does, Jerry Lynn will rip him apart. Teddy Hart launches himself with a springboard clothesline on Lynn, beating on him but Lynn goes right to the eyes and Hotshot brings Teddy Hart down. Lynn beats on Hart and into the corner hard. Knee strike and belly to back suplex brings him down and now Lynn beats on Teddy Hart some more, working him over. Teddy Hart fights down from underneath but Lynn catches him with two clotheslines and to the outside. Flying bodypress connects for a two count and now Lynn beats on Hart, with Hart returning fire. Inverted bulldog brings Lynn down and Hart makes a cover for a two count. A few more nearfalls but Lynn catches Hart and pulls out a Tornado DDT but it’s not enough to put Teddy Hart down.
Lynn beats on Hart some more, and to the top rope. Superplex is fought and Hart shoves Lynn off the ropes but Lynn lands on his feet and lariats Hart as he dives off the top rope. Two count and Lynn applies a sleeperhold but after two and a half arm drops, Hart fights out of that one. Both men fight each other with forearm smashes and now Hart goes for the Sharpshooter but Lynn grabs the ropes. Lynn goes to the outside and neck snap on the top rope and now Lynn is on the top rope. Missile dropkick gets a two count and now Hart is thrown into the corner. Hart gets both feet up and sunset flip out of the corner for another nearfall. Hart goes behind Lynn and rolling cradle but it is reversed. Roll ups are traded but Lynn manages to catch Hart with a huge sitout power bomb for a two count! Lynn continues to work over Hart, including a huge running fireman’s carry Gutbuster and yet another Tornado DDT. Hart fights back and Cradle DDT on Lynn! Two count and Hart hits a springboard inverted bulldog but Lynn won’t stay down. Hart goes to the top rope but Lynn crotches Hart and goes to the top rope. DDT off of the top rope and Hart folds right back onto his neck! Lynn may have hit hard but he manages to make a cover for a two count. Lynn looks angered and beats on Hart, but Hart fires back. He goes for a backspring cross body block but Lynn ducks it and Hart crashes. Lynn gives the signal for the Cradle Piledriver, but Hart appears to be dead weight and won’t go up easily. Lynn bends down to lift Teddy Hart up and Hart rolls up Lynn into a small package for the flash pin!

Teddy Hart slides to the outside, with the win, a bit worse for wear but this might only be child’s play compared to what happens five days from now, when Teddy Hart steps into the Empty Arena to take on Abyss for the NAWA World Title on January 3rd 2007. The final image of 2006 sees Teddy Hart holding up the NAWA World Title in a token of victory. See you on the 5 Years of NAWA Glory Special.
