NAWA Glory 1/12/07
Tonight on NAWA Glory, two of the biggest names in NAWA history will go one on one, when Harry Harris takes on the NAWA International Champion Jerry Lynn. Lynn and Harris have had their share of battles on Pay Per View and on NAWA Glory, including the forty minute plus classic at StarClash 03, the first ever belt for belt match for the NAWA World and International Title with the legendary “Rowdy” Roddy Piper as the guest referee, with Harris managing to triumph. Many have stated that this match might have been the origin of many of the injury problems Harry Harris has suffered over the years. Tonight they meet one on one tonight on Glory. Plus Nigel McGuinness takes on Christopher Daniels, Tomko takes on AJ Styles, and Miles Stylish against Jay Briscoe. We are live and in living color for NAWA Glory tonight.
Serena Deeb vs. Gail Kim
It is announced that due the injuries that Mia Stylish suffered as virtue of the beating by Awesome Kong last week, her NAWA Women’s Championship match will be pushed back until she’s cleared to compete. Gail Kim, as the number two contender, slides right into the title match at Luck of the Draw with Awesome Kong and solidifies that status tonight, after a back and forth match with Serena, surviving a huge half nelson suplex, before hitting a reverse rana into a headscissors submission for a tap out.
Gail Kim made Serena submit to a headscissors submission in 0:05:33.
Rating: * ¾
Gail Kim celebrates the win but she looks over her shoulder, as you never know where Awesome Kong is lurking in the shadows.

Sedrick Skyhawk arrives, with Tomko and Candace Sweet following him and Shawn Stasiak stumbling behind them, carrying all of their bags. Skyhawk says they all have their plans for tonight, they called in a few favors and thus Christopher Daniels had a match with Nigel McGuinness. Skyhawk says that Tomko’s job is to take down AJ Styles. He wants both of his challengers at less than one hundred percent. Once again, Stasiak is warned about staying out of the way, because he’s made Sederick Skyhawk Productions a laughing stock. Stasiak wants another chance, but Candace says that Stasiak will get another chance at Luck of the Draw, in the Luck of the Draw Match, to put in a good showing. Stasiak nods, saying that he’ll win the Luck of the Draw Match and become the NAWA World Champion, but Skyhawk yells at him, saying that his job is to help Tomko to clear his path to the victory. Skyhawk vows to beat two men in the same night to retain his NAWA Television Title in what he claims is essentially a handicap match and then win the Luck of the Draw Match. Skyhawk declares that he’ll ride down the Streets of Tinsel Town the brand new NAWA World Champion, in a parade of celebration, and receive his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that says “Sederick Skyhawk, NAWA World Champion”. Skyhawk Productions leave as we fade out.

Petey Williams vs. The NAWA Cruiserweight Champion Homicide
Homicide beats on Petey Williams in the early stages of this match, battering him and drilling him with a series of forearm smashes, but Petey Williams manages a brief comeback, hitting a missile dropkick and a springboard elbow drop but Homicide kicks out. Petey Williams goes for the Canadian Destroyer but Homicide grabs the ropes and then waistlocks Petey, before bringing him down throat first on the middle rope. Homicide turns around and lariats Petey Williams nearly out of his boots to score the pin.
Homicide pinned Petey Williams after a lariat in 0:09:12.
Rating: ***
Homicide talks some trash, as he will be defending his belt against Bryan Danielson at the Luck of the Draw Match, where the belt can change hands via a countout or a disqualification.
Suddenly the fans boo some more, as Ron Killings makes his way down to the ring. Killings and Homicide exchange nods, before Killings pitches Petey Williams to the floor. Killings gets the microphone, saying that each and every week, he has to hear about how Harry Harris is the greatest thing since sliced bread, well it makes him want to blow chunks. TWO Times, with Killings holding up two fingers, Harry Harris and Ron Killings were in the ring and two times, Harry Harris scored an illegal victory over Ron Killings. The fans boo, as while it was true that both times Harry Harris beat Killings it was through dubious means, it was dubious means that Ron Killings tried to beat Harry Harris with first and they blew up on his face.
Ron Killings knows what’s happen right here, the fans are cheering Harry Harris, because he panders to them, he plays to them. The only time the fans cheered Ron Killings was when he danced like a fool and rapped, when he was the Rapmaster, but that’s fine, Ron Killings says they can all go to hell, because he’s going to win the Luck of the Draw Match, and the NAWA World Title scene is going to get some much needed color. And he hopes that he throws Harry Harris right on his “cracka ass” and he’ll fry Harris like a skillet come Luck of the Draw and be on him like stink on a porch swing. Killings says that’s the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help him, the next time Harry Harris is gonna die and “he’s get the stuffing knocked out of him like a Turkey on the Fourth of July, if you know what I’m saying”. Oh I’m sure we do, Mr. Killings. Ron Killings has thrown down his own vow to win the Luck of the Draw Match, he wants the NAWA World Title, but then again, doesn’t everyone? There can only be one number one contender and one NAWA World Champion.
Coming up next, Nigel McGuinness takes on Christopher Daniels.
[COMMERCIAL]
Christopher Daniels vs. Nigel McGuinness
Both men lock up and McGuiness pushes Daniels into the corner and beating him into the corner with a series of chops but Daniels returns fire and snapmare and a running dropkick. Daniels beats on McGuinness and into the ropes. Armdrag takedown and Daniels beats up McGuinness. STO is blocked and McGuinness powerslams Daniels down, before beating on him with a series of knees right to the side of the head. Nigel McGuinness picks up Daniels and sends him crashing right into the corner. Daniels eats a boot to the face and a double underhook suplex, with McGuinness working over Daniels, but Daniels fights back and hits a brain buster, before going for the Best Moonsault Ever but McGuinness moves. Landing on his feet is Daniels and Jawbreaker Lariat is ducked and Daniels kicks McGuinness, going for the Angel’s Wings but Shawn Stasiak is on the apron. Daniels is distracted, and he is catapulted right into Stasiak. Regular lariat followed by the Jawbreaker Lariat and Nigel McGuinness picks up another win, this time over Christopher Daniels, with a little assist from Shawn Stasiak.
Nigel McGuinness pinned Christopher Daniels with the Jawbreaker Lariat in
0:08:29.
Rating: *** ¼
Nigel McGuinness picks up the win, and Shawn Stasiak enters the ring, beginning to stomp on the downed Christopher Daniels, before he turns around and yells, “how do you like that?” The fans boo, as Shawn Stasiak applies the Full Nelson to a knocked unconscious from the Jawbreaker Lariat Christopher Daniels, shaking him like a ragdoll. Shawn Stasiak releases the hold and Stasiak pumps his fist into the air, before leaving. Christopher Daniels is out in the ring but that was all on Nigel McGuinness. But whatever helps Stasiak sleep at night. Nigel McGuinness will be a part of the Luck of the Draw match and given the roll he’s been in as of late, he may be one of the favorites.

The Briscoe Brothers are standing by with Dan Marion. Jay Briscoe is pumped up for his match with Miles Stylish tonight, talking about he’s been in many fights in his career and life, but this is one of the most high profile match. Jay talks about how he doesn’t like people like Stylish, people who act smug and superior to everyone else, so he’s going to bust him up tonight. Mark Briscoe chimes in, talking about how they still have a bone to pick with the Motor City Machine Gunns. He says Sabin and Shelley are nothing but a couple of soft city boys. Detroit might have a reputation, but it is nothing like the backwoods of Deleware, where they spent most of their time hunting cougars and plucking chickens and getting in fights and drinking beer and driving trucks and taking care of nature’s call in an outhouse in the middle of the woods and just being a couple of good old boys while Sabin and Shelley spend their time playing video games, texting each other on cell phones, buying vegetarian meals from super markets, and using indoor plumbing. Jay remarks that he wonders about Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin with their purdy hair and their tight leather, not that there’s anything wrong with that. Regardless Dem Boys, the Briscoe Brothers, will lay a good old fashioned stomping on Sabin and Shelley once they get into the ring. It will be Jay Briscoe against Miles Stylish still to come.
Coming Up Next, AJ Styles against Tomko. More action up next on Glory.

Tomko goes after Styles at the bell but Styles quickly slides underneath the attack and a pair of dropkicks rock Tomko back into the corner. Styles rains down on Tomko with ten count punches and a running kneelift to the face, but Tomko boots him off of the springboard, gaining control, using his power offense. Tomko goes for the TKO but Styles slides down the backside and Pele Kick. Styles dropkicks him right off of the apron and Styles hits a springboard Asai Moonsault but Tomko catches him and huge powerslam right into the corner and then right into the center of the ring. The referee warns Tomko, who continues to tighten his grip and the referee counts to five, before Tomko is disqualified.
AJ Styles defeated Tomko by disqualification in 0:07:25.
Rating: ** ¾
The fans are booing as Tomko releases the hold and gives Styles a thunderous TKO. A victory wasn’t something that Tomko was going for, it was absolute punishment on AJ Styles and Styles has been taken down, perhaps at less than a hundred percent. Given Daniels having a physical match with Nigel McGuinness and AJ Styles suffering a savage beating at the hands of Tomko, Sederick Skyhawk’s odds of keeping the NAWA Television Title have improved.
We cut to some prerecorded words from the NAWA World Champion Teddy Hart, who talks about how the company gave him the next couple of weeks off the road, to prepare for his next title defense against Kurt Angle, after his grueling match with Abyss on Five Years of NAWA Glory. Hart says he’s been getting ready, because when you prepare for someone like Kurt Angle, you don’t take a breath, you don’t take a breath, you keep training, until you can’t train anymore, and then keep training beyond that. Teddy Hart remarks that it took three long years to become NAWA World Champion after many missed opportunities but his journey was longer than that.
He says that he had more opportunities than anyone in wrestling to make a splash for himself but unfortunately, due to a lack of maturity, he blew a great many of them. He talks about how back in 1998, he was in the same training class as Kurt Angle, but he lost another chance, and how he had to watch every Monday Night, how Kurt Angle become one of the top wrestlers. It could have been him but he screwed up. Still he can’t complain all that much. People wrote him off, said that he’s going to melt down out any time, that he’s a fluke champion, that he’s just a placeholder, he’s heard all of the critics say it is only a matter of time before Hart cracks and loses the title. Teddy Hart says that he’s defended the belt in I Quit Matches, Empty Arena Matches, and Iron Man Matches so far and he’s turned back all challenges. His toughest challenge will be at Luck of the Draw in nine days, when he steps into the ring with Kurt Angle, in a straight up wrestling match. The only Olympic Gold medalist in wrestling history won’t be easy, but he’s looking forward to adding another credible notch to what has been a wild ride as NAWA World Champion.
Coming up next, Jay Briscoe, Miles Stylish, one on one, more rocking action on NAWA Glory.
[COMMERCIAL]
Before the next match, Miles Stylish hands a note card to the ring announcer, leading to the following announcement. “The personification of excellence, Miles Stylish, had considered telling you that he would be the one winning the Luck of the Draw match, but why even bother pointing out the blatantly obvious?” Stylish looks rather smug as the fans explode into boos, and Stylish strikes a mocking pose, which gets even more boos. Confidence, much?
Jay Briscoe vs. Miles Stylish
Jay Briscoe gets a series of jabs right on Stylish right at the bell and into the corner for a huge knee strike and gutwrench suplex. Jay Briscoe knocks Stylish to the floor and tope suicida wipes him out. Into the ring but Stylish dropkicks him right on the springboard, to take control, beating on him before hitting a violent snap suplex and Stylish beats on Jay Briscoe, before hitting three rolling gutwrench suplexes in succession, rolling over onto his back, kipping up and doing a handstand, before landing on his feet, and flipping over with a somersault senton! Stylish kips right back up to his feet again and then delivers a backflip splash for a two count. He beats on Jay Briscoe and backspin DDT can’t keep Jay Briscoe down.
Stylish beats on Jay Briscoe, hooking him in a cravate, before doing handstands and ramming the knee right into the side of the head of Jay Briscoe. Jay fights out and elbow strikes, before he hits a huge facebuster down across the knee. Jay to the outside and springboard elbow strike rocks Stylish for a two count. Jay beats on Stylish and power bomb right into the corner. Running clothesline and now Jay Briscoe goes behind Stylish, before hitting a springboard tornado DDT but Stylish is in the ropes. Jay beats on Stylish and to the top rope with him. Super Frankensteiner but Jay might have tweaked his knee. He drags himself over for the cover but only a two count. Forearms set up Stylish for the Jay Driller but Stylish counters with a Frankensteiner flipping Jay Briscoe. Stylish rolls over, before crucifixing Jay’s arms and legs around his own arms, before he kips up to his feet with Jay Briscoe on his shoulders into a Las Vegas Trauma. Stylish makes the cover, kneeling on the chest of Jay Briscoe hands raised in the air with a victory pose for a three!
Miles Stylish pinned Jay Briscoe with the Las Vegas Trauma in 0:09:36.
Rating: ****
Miles Stylish gets the win, in perhaps one of the most pretentious manners possible. Jay Briscoe gave Stylish his fair share of anxious moments but being a tag team wrestler, he was not used to fighting an accomplished singles competitor like Miles Stylish who may be one of the favorites to win the Luck of the Draw.
Coming up next, it is Jerry Lynn against Harry Harris. You don’t want to miss this big match coming up next on Glory.

The Gambler makes his way down to the ringside area for some guest commentary. The Gambler talks about how he’s won the NAWA Television, Tag Team, and International Titles in the past but there is one championship that has slipped out of his grasp despite a couple of title shots and that is the NAWA World Title. Gambler says that the Luck of the Draw Match will be his best chance to get the NAWA World Title Shot, but its not going to be an easy chance. Everyone is determined to win that Luck of the Draw, from former champions to spurned contenders to the guys who can’t break out of the opening match pack. The NAWA World Championship is the ultimate prize in wrestling and the Gambler says that it’s his goal before he calls it a day to become the NAWA World Champion. In the meantime, he’s out to scout two of his opponents for that match.
Harry Harris vs. the NAWA International Champion Jerry Lynn
Both men exchange chops and holds on the canvas, with Harry Harris pulling out a rolling kneebar, but Lynn gets to the ropes. Harris beats on Lynn and to the floor, but Lynn suckers Harris in with a running kneelift right to the face and then a swinging neckbreaker, before hitting a running neck snap for a two count. Lynn beats on Harris, hammering away at him with a series of chops right in the corner and a running clothesline, before he hits a snap suplex. He backs up and another running neck snap. High angle belly to back suplex, with Lynn applying a sleeperhold but Harris is fighting out of the hold, with Harris ramming an elbow into the side of Lynn but Lynn throws Harris into the corner and cradles him, before hitting a release fisherman suplex(not quite a fisherman buster). Cradle Tombstone Piledriver is avoided when Harris slides down the back but turns around into a lariat for a two count.

Waistlock set up but Harris lands right on his feet and measures Lynn before clocking him with a huge boot right to the chest. Harris now measures Lynn and a huge series of kicks right to the side, before Harris delivers a double leg takedown into a jack-knife cradle for a two count. Harris beats on the back of Lynn’s head, before sending him into the buckles. Back and forth action, with Harris nailing Lynn with a spinning elbow smash knocking him down. Harris Driver coming up and Lynn is scooped up but he has the move well scouted, sliding down, inadvertently kicking the referee in the face. Lynn bounces right back up but Harris catches him and wrist clutch Exploder Suplex. The referee took a good shot and he is down, so Harris is trying to revive the referee. Lynn is right back up and Harris ducks a charge, with Lynn trying to put the breaks on but he knees the referee right in the face, rendering him further dazed. Suddenly, Harry Harris spins the Gambler around and is not too pleased of what happened. The Gambler tries to explain what happened, but Harris won’t have any of it. Security is out as is Larry Sweeney. Sweeney says tensions seem to be high but considering we are almost out of time, next week, the Gambler can take on Harry Harris.
[COMMERCIAL]
