Since coming back and using TNM I've noticed that none of the wrestlers (real wrestlers) really compete at the level they do in real life.. as I had a fictional wrestler based on sting and he honestly isn't the main eventer that he is in real life... now keep in mind that I snagged the output for sting from the TNM7.com website so that i wouldn't have to go through a list of people to get him..
Or do ratings change between the TNM7 site and the TNM 3:16 site ? Should I update my wrestlers ?

Main eventer meaning he isn't winning his unbooked matches very often? Or that his match ratings aren't very high?

I Should have made this a lil more clear sorry bout that...
What I mean is this: I booked the guy I have based on Sting against a guy I have based on Masahiro Chono and Chono won...
I don't book anyone to win or loose I let the AI (artificial intellgence) decide on that, I just chooses who wrestles who... although I currently have it setup for the push to be a factor and even so he's not winning much... Before when I didn't have that option enabled he also didn't win much.
I think the two records (just guessing cause I'm currently not at that computer) Sting 5-11 Chono 15-3 like it's a huge difference and unless Chono was HUGE in japan before WCW brought him in then there's no reason for him to be beating sting by that much.
Not only that but I essentially did a match: Cena vs Rock I got 1 or 2 stars and the match only lasted like 2 min

If you're not choosing winners then the results almost always seem random. Even strict pushes can't be trusted. A wrestler with a 99 push won't always beat a wrestler with a 20 push if you leave it up to TNM. The odds are better but it's not a guarantee.
Also, you can book a match to go for a certain amuont of time without picking a winner.
And yes, Chono was huge in Japan before coming to WCW.

Thanks Vertigo; that would explain alot including the fact that I had a wrestler based on Brock Lesnar who is basically 99 across the board and he couldn't do anything big.
I would like to see that change but I know the game doesn't seem to be getting updated, but hopefully Oliver will update it

Another one of the main reasons behind this would be the damage certain moves have. So a guy that does a lot of moves that have maximum damage but has a small push will beat a guy with a high push that only does moves like bodyslams and punches.
Sting does a lot of "safe" moves that probably don't carry much damage in TNM. Chono may have a few more suplexes and submissions that bring with them a lot more damage. That's one of the main reasons why Chono, despite having a smaller push, will still go over a guy like Sting.

So someone like say Scott Steiner would no doubt go over rather huge since he's a bigger guy and has alot of suplex's and high impact moves ?
I recently decided to take on the Random Wrestler Generator to create some random wrestlers so that this is no longer a factor for me because atleast with having randomly created wrestlers it'll give me more of the fictional aspect and i wont "expect" anything since i wouldn't know how these guys would perform.

I haven't ran a circuit unbooked in over 12 years so I would be the wrong person to ask. But there used to be guys that would win nearly every match. I think Stan Hansen used to be one. Part of the reason for Hansen being nearly unbeatable was that the Lariat is similar to a clothesline and so it was easier to hit out of nowhere compared to maybe a superplex finisher or something.
Steiner is a guy I'm not sure about. But moves are a huge factor on who is going to win a match.

Well that does make sense about Stan Hensen which will also explain why my current champ (and 5 time champ) Randomly Created wrestler: Nico "The Messiah" Voight keeps laying people out and has always been a top guy from minute one since his finisher is the super kick...

Submission moves also tend to sap out your opponent's strength. I mean, there's plenty of low-key indy wrestlers that occasionally slap on a cross-armbreaker from time to time. In TNM-effects, that move is really powerful, while the wrestler in real-life may never use it to win a match or not.
I only run unbooked when I'm using fantasy wrestlers, as it's too easy to be caught up in realism. For many, me included, TNM is just a cool framework to do my fantasy booking.

And that is why the stomach claw and the flying forearm are the most feared moves in my fed.
Here's what I do: I can't rely on pushes in my fed though I let the sim basically decide who wins and who loses. However, when a subpar wrestler beats a main eventer or I don't want to turn a title over, I usually book in some reason as to why this person won or change the ending somehow.
After all, Matt Hardy did beat Razor Ramon back when he was a jobber, and "The Winner" Barry Horowicz won once.
Even though this does happen quite often, it allows me to run the fed on a show by show basis. Which is how I personally like it. I know it's not realistic but it's a lot more fun scrambling to react to something happening than to just plan it out weeks in advance.
