5-11-85 House Show
Good opening contest and the rematch between Farris and Jannetty should be just as good.
Great win for the Soulman. He should be over like rover on the West Coast.
I don’t think Roberts will let the issue with Garvin rest yet. Yup. Jake tries to attack him post match when Garvin was jawing with Funk. The title match next month should be good.
Good win for the Ninja Express and the run-in against Mascaras sets up quite the six man for next month.
Aw Abdullah, the match would have been great. Stevens is a fine replacement and this may set up a new feud.
King Tonga’s great, he can go toe to toe with anyone.
I agree with other comments, Rude potentially could be one of your tent pole wrestlers for years to come. Fantastic match.
The main event was wild, crazy and glorious. Speaking of tentpoles, Dr. Death is also another one for you.
6-8-85 House Show
Good opening contest. You have to get what you can out of Mil before he goes bad on you (trust me, it’ll happen eventually).
We have our first two teams in the tag tournament. Only four? Granted, you don’t have a large roster, but you may have been able to squeeze in some combinations to make it eight. Still, with four, you pick the teams you really want to highlight.
The Soulman wins again and Rude’s not hurt by the loss due to the distraction. I smell a feud bulding between Rude and Billy Jack.
Stevens has an unwanted partner who tries his best. The Armstrongs are an actual team and get the win. Stevens tries to teach Michaels a lesson for losing the fall but the Armstrongs intervene. I wonder whether this develops further.
Jannetty wins the rematch and we get the rubber match to decide this. Good use of both of these guys early on in their WWA tenure.
It’s official, Rude and Billy Jack are feuding. If their matches achieve the level of their first one, you may have quite the star making feud for both guys.
Magnum TA! That’s quite the get for the WWA. I’m really liking the roster of wrestlers you have put together.
Hector and Tito finish off their issues with the HOH. Surprised that Eadie and Studd are not in the tag tournament.
Adonis is another solid wrestler for your roster. Dr. Death will still have to deal with the HOH (he did embarrass them badly in the World title tournament).
I loved the ending to the main event, it helps keep everyone strong and with heat. Roberts/Garvin should continue to be a great feud.
Funk will have his hands full with either Rocky or Mil. No matter who wins, I think both guys will eventually get their chance against Funk. And Magnum looms huge on the horizon.

It is amazing how times have changed. Now, a guy like Mascaras would probably be booed for his reluctance to do a job. But back in the '80s he was massively over. Fun opener and something to get the crowd going.
Loved the bits with the female fan and Rick Rude. Something that would have gotten over with the crowd back in the '80s. I don't know if this female fan will turn out to be someone special or not, but I'm sure Rude won't let this stand. Billy Jack Haynes may be in for some trouble later on tonight.
Didn't expect to see Shawn Michaels make his Universe debut as a tag team partner of Ray Stevens. That'll be a bit of trivia we'll look back on in a few years. You've done a superb job of trading off the heat from the Armstrong-Abdullah feud into Armstrong-Stevens. Stevens has to be picking up some major heat with this feud. And Brad Armstrong might come out of this a star and make a bigger name for himself than he ever did in real life.
Funny bit of writing with the "showboating doesn't win matches but sunset flips do" ... got a chuckle out of me. Waiting for Farris to break out some, but I like his build so far.
And there's the confrontation between Haynes and Rude. Smart way to give Roberts a win, but keep Haynes strong.
Boom. WWA makes a huge leap forward in the Universe by signing Magnum TA. He's been impressive everywhere he's been so far. I expect nothing less here in the WWA. A program with Gary Hart and the One Man Gang is a good start.
Kind of surprised Hector and Tito went over the House of Humperdink here. Looking over the results so far, you've had a lot of faces go over tonight. I know you have Terry Funk as the star of the WWA, but I wonder which other heel you'll build up strong.
I like the debut of Adrian Adonis. He should fit in well. It's hard to beat down someone like Williams, but Adonis and Humperdink did a good job of it. It fits Williams' character that he would stay down for long, though, and I like that he chased after them once he had recovered.
The main event was well done with keeping both Garvin strong and keeping the title on Funk. You've done more with Garvin than I ever thought possible. Bravo. The ending was funny as I can see Funk doing his "drunk selling" and falling on top of Garvin after being knocked out.
Good show. Hopefully Ryan and I don't take forever so we can see your next card. I want to see more!

The crowd start out on a happy note with the face team taking the win. Getting the big man out of the ring is a good recipe for taking care of his smaller allies inside of the ring. Rude's antics cost him the match. I wonder if that was a plant or simply a fiery fan. Stevens cheap assault makes Michaels a de facto face now. How long until the Rockers, I ask That female fan needs to be Haynes' manager. Magnum joins the list of wrestlers who have been in all three promotions. Who else? Funk, for sure. Jump starting his WWA career against the One Man Gang can lead to a great start or be a huge road block for Magnum. I hope he knows what he's doing. Lots of good teams entering the tournament, I need to see a complete list in order to make a prediction I think. Adonis have been to all 3, right? Funk has shown himself to be a great world champion, even though he needed a little help from "the Snake" here. I'm rooting for the Fantastics in the tournament.

WWA - June 29, 1985 from The Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA
The Cow Palace is jam packed on this lovely June evening as WWA rolls back into town! Tonight we crown our very first Tag Team Champions! Also on the card we'll get a new Top Contender for Terry Funk's Heavyweight title as well as the WWA debut of Magnum T.A. and so much more!
1. Wayne Farris vs. Marty Jannetty
The last time we were at The Cow Palace Farris defeated Jannetty and showed a tremendous lack of respect for the youngster following the match. Jannetty then avenged that loss by defeating Farris earlier this month in Los Angeles. Tonight was the rubber match and neither one of them wanted to walk away with the loss. Farris was his usual self as far as wiggling his hips and taunting Jannetty but he was also more aggressive. Jannetty, however, has developed into quite a talented wrestler in the past few months and despite Farris's best efforts, as dirty as they may have been, Jannetty picked up the win with a German suplex.
Marty Jannetty defeated Wayne Farris after a German suplex in 0:11:32. Rating: ** 1/2
Both of these men were impressive but it was Jannetty who walked away victorious in this feud! Farris didn't waste anytime making a hasty retreat back to the dressing room while Jannetty celebrated.
2. One Man Gang (w/Gary Hart) vs. Magnum T.A.
Magnum T.A. is a guy who has already been labeled by many as a future superstar in the world of wrestling. Everywhere he goes he turns heads. The native of Virginia Beach is now here in WWA and he's looking to climb the ladder. His first match, unfortunately, is against a monster of man in One Man Gang. You could see the Gang building confidence as he took control of the match thanks to Gary Hart's instructions from ringside. It looked like Magnum's debut would be spoiled but rather than end the match, the Gang wanted to really make Magnum regret coming to WWA. He tossed Magnum outside of the ring and followed. Gary Hart suggested he bodyslam Magnum on the concrete but Magnum slipped out of it and shoved the Gang into Gary Hart. They collided heads and Gary Hart went down. Gang shook it off, turned and charged Magnum. Magnum ducked and Gang slammed into the ringpost knocking him loopy. By this point referee Bill Alfonso was already up to an 8 count. Magnum slid back in the ring as Alfonso counted to 10, counting out the One Man Gang!
Magnum T.A. defeated One Man Gang by countout in 0:09:19. Rating: 1/2*
Magnum certainly would have liked to win differently but he's lucky he made it out of the match in one piece. One Man Gang thought about getting back in the ring but Gary Hart convinced him otherwise.
3. WWA Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinals Match The Armstrongs vs. Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero
Brad Armstrong is just now getting his feet wet in professional wrestling and tonight is a huge opportunity for him and his father, "Bullet" Bob. They may be the underdogs in the tournament but don't tell them that. Their opponents tonight are much more seasoned as a tag team. They've had a lot of success lately, namely coming out on top in a feud with the House of Humpderdink. Both teams shook hands before the opening bell and we were treated to a highly technical, back and forth wrestling contest. Brad will be a star someday but tonight he was in a little over his head as more often than not he was getting outwrestled. He showed resilience but when Hector Guerrero hit him with the Butterfly Suplex there was no kicking out.
[WWA Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinals] Hector Guerrero and Tito Santana defeated The Armstrongs (Bob Armstrong and Brad Armstrong) when H. Guerrero pinned Brad Armstrong with the Butterfly Suplex in 0:11:11. Rating: **
Santana & Guerrero advance to the main event to crown WWA Tag Team Champions. In another great display of sportsmanship the teams shook hands after the match. But before long RAY STEVENS was headed to ringside flanked by… KING TONGA?! Stevens grabbed the house microphone and let his voice be heard. He said he's always fancied being a tag team wrestler and now that the WWA is set to crown Champions he had every intention of challenging whomever they may be down the road. He then pointed that King Tonga is the perfect partner. He said Tonga is just as ruthless and cut-throat as he is. But before they make a run for the titles Stevens wants The Armstrongs. He issued a tag team challenge for WWA's return to The Cow Palace on August 24 which The Armstrongs immediately accepted.
We learned later that a pair of singles match have been signed for WWA's next show on July 27th in San Diego. Ray Stevens will tangle with "Bullet" Bob Armstrong while Brad Armstrong is set to face King Tonga!
4. WWA Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinals Match The Ninja Express (w/Gary Hart) vs. The Fantastics
No love lost in this one as The Fantastics and The Ninja Express have been at each other for months now. The rivalry continued here with big stakes on the line. It takes a smart man to keep a duo like The Ninja Express in line but Gary Hart does it. The Fantastics were amped up because not only would they get their hands on their rivals again but they would also get a shot to become WWA Tag Team Champions if they were victorious here. Hart and the Ninjas countered the fiery start of The Fantastics by bailing to the outside of the ring as often as possible waiting for The Fantastics to punch themselves out. When that stopped working the Ninjas resorted to the choking and questionable martial arts strikes they're known for. In the closing moments Bobby Fulton was in the ring bouncing the Ninjas around with dropkicks and bodyslams. Referee Bill Alfonso was doing his best to get some control and his focus was getting the illegal man, Kendo Nagasaki, out of the ring. With his back turned to the action Gary Hart climbed on the apron, grabbed Bobby Fulton's attention, and threw a handful of powder in his eyes! Fulton was temporarily blinded which left him defenseless against Mr. Pogo and a Power Bomb! Alfonso turned and made the three count!
[WWA Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinals] The Ninja Express (Kendo Nagasaki and Mr. Pogo) defeated The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers) when Mr. Pogo pinned Fulton with the Power Bomb in 0:20:07. Rating: ***
The Ninja Express have stolen another one! With this win our Main Event is set as The Ninja Express and Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero will do battle to crown the very first WWA Tag Team Champions!
5. Bill "The Ax" Eadie w/Sir Oliver Humperdink vs. S.D. Jones
A lot of questions were raised over the weeks leading into tonight about why the House of Humperdink were not competing in the Tag Team Championship tournament. After all, they've had a highly publicized feud with Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero and many had them pegged as the top tag team in WWA. We got our answers following an impressive singles victory by "the Ax" who soundly defeated S.D. Jones without even breaking a sweat.
Bill Eadie made S.D. Jones submit to the Cobra Clutch in 0:03:13. Rating: * 1/2
Sir Oliver Humperdink got on the microphone and said over the last few months he was noticing a weak link in the House of Humperdink. He said it was obvious one man was doing all the heavy lifting while the other just seemed to be along for the ride. So he has dropped the dead weight from the House and fired Big John Studd! He then went on to put over Bill Eadie and how no one could slow him down now. Humperdink put the WWA on notice and said that Eadie is a man on a mission and anyone who gets in his way will be chopped down by "the Ax"!
** INTERMISSION **
RICK RUDE INTERVI…. POSING EXHIBITION?
In the realm of arrogant individuals, "Ravishing" Rick Rude has to rank amongst the top in history. Followiing intermission Ken Resnick invited Rick Rude down to ringside for what was apparently scheduled to be a brief interview. The interview was in regards to a match that has been signed for San Diego between he and Billy Jack Haynes. When Rude made it to ringside he declined to waste time talking about Billy Jack Haynes because the spotlight tonight was all for Rick Rude. Rude then climbed into the ring and proceeded to hit a number of classic body building poses. The crowd boo'd him until he started to leave the ring. But he wasn't actually leaving. He was grabbing a bottle of baby oil. He then proceeded to oil himself up and hit a number of additional poses. No doubt the man is physically fit but this was a bit much. There was a particularly vocal female in the crowd. In fact it was the same fan from our last event in Los Angeles. She was again sporting a Billy Jack Haynes t-shirt. Rude got right in her face and told her to "feast your eyes on this" as he disgustingly gyrated his hips. The woman then dumped her beverage all over Rude infuriating him but getting huge cheers of approval from the fans! He demanded security remove her from the building which they did as the fans boo'd profusely. Rude grabbed his robe and took a walk marking the end of this ridiculous posing exhibition.
6. Adrian Adonis w/Sir Oliver Humperdink vs. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams
Sir Oliver Humperdink has made it a top priority to slow down the momentum Steve Williams gained since coming to WWA. Mainly because he did so by defeating the House of Humperdink on multiple occasions which in turn eliminated them from title contention. The grudge is far from over and in Los Angeles Humperdink acquired the services of Adrian Adonis to do his dirty work. Williams had a fire in his eye tonight as he looked to avenge what happened to him in L.A. when Adonis left him laying. Adonis was overwhelmed early on as Williams unleashed a flurry on him. Williams intensity is unrivaled and it was at its peak tonight. Adonis was able to get a slight upper hand and spent the majority of the match just trying to drain the energy out of Dr. Death. In doing so, Adonis expelled a ton of his own energy and when Williams somehow got a second wind Adonis was a dead man walking. Williams hit a number of suplexes bringing the crowd to a frenzy, lastly hitting a belly-to-back suplex for the win!
Steve Williams pinned Adrian Adonis after a belly-to-back suplex in 0:16:15. Rating: ** 3/4 [Sir Oliver Humperdink interfered against Steve Williams.]
Everything was so sudden that Humperdink couldn't react! Just like in L.A., Humperdink had gotten into the ring and was intent on breaking up the pinfall but he couldn't make it in time. This left him in the unenviable position of being in the ring with a very aware Steve Williams. Williams stalked Humperdink who begged off. In a desperate attempt to save himself Humperdink shoved Williams, who didn't budge, and then tried to run. But Williams grabbed a hold of his leather jacket and scooped Humperdink onto his shoulders. To the crowd's delight Williams nearly put Humperdink through the mat with a powerslam! While all of this was happening Adonis had grabbed the dog collar he wears to the ring which suspiciously had a long chain attached to it. This wasn't coincidence, this was all part of the plan. Win, lose, or draw, Adonis & Humperdink had great plans of dishing out some punishment on Williams tonight. Adonis wrapped the chain around his fist and laid out Williams. Then he put the dog collar around Williams neck and dragged him on his back from corner to corner. Williams was struggling to breath as officials rushed to the ring. Adonis then tossed Williams over the ropes essentially HANGING him with the dog collar! After what seemed like an eternity referees finally pulled Adonis away and he and Humperdink left ringside completely satisfied with themselves. For the first time Steve Williams couldn't leave the ring on his own power.
No one has ever denied Steve Williams toughness and miraculously no permanent damage was done tonight. Williams may still be sore when July 27th comes around but on that night in San Diego he is going to step into the ring with Adrian Adonis in a Dog Collar Match!
7. Number One Contenders Match "Soulman" Rocky Johnson vs. Mil Mascaras
For the second time in one night we were treated to a fan favorite vs. fan favorite match. Both of these guys have tremendous respect for one another but a shot at the WWA Heavyweight Title was on the line so until the final bell rings, these two are enemies. Just as we were set to begin the match the reigning Heavyweight Champion, Terry Funk, came to ringside. Of course he was being as belligerent as ever and causing a ruckus. Referee Dean Ross was concerned about Funk's presence and with good reason. But Funk said he was just out there to scout a future opponent… just like a true Champion should. Ross reluctantly allowed Funk to have a seat right beside Ken Resnick to watch the bout. Johnson and Mascaras got down to business, going hold for hold, counter for counter. It came down to whoever made the first mistake and that just so happened to be Johnson who must have blinked at the wrong time. In a flash, Mascaras had ducked the Johnson Shuffle, sprang up to the second rope, and came off with a diving tope which was enough to keep Johnson's shoulders down.
[Number-One-Contenders-Match] Mil Mascaras pinned Rocky Johnson after a diving tope in 0:06:41. Rating: **
The crowd erupted as Mascaras picked up the win to become the Top Contender. One man who wasn't impressed was Terry Funk. He slid in the ring and started insulting Mascaras! He worked himself into such a frenzy that he was ready to fight Mascaras then and there! He threw his poncho off, took his hat off his head, and even removed his Heavyweight title belt. Then he threw up his fists like an 1800's bare knuckle boxer! Mascaras wasn't entirely sure what to make of Funk's challenge. Either did Rocky Johnson who was standing beside Mascaras. So they looked at each other, looked back at Funk, and threw their fists up in a similar fashion. Funk apparently didn't favor a 2-on-1 situation so he dropped his fists, stomped around the ring angrily, grabbed all of his accessories and Championship belt and stormed off. He's nuts!
Funk may have thought better of a fight tonight with the new Number One Contender but in San Diego, he'll have to defend his the WWA Heavyweight Championship against him. It will be Terry Funk versus Mil Mascaras with the gold on the line on July 27th!
8. Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "Hands of Stone" Ron Garvin
Ron Garvin had the biggest opportunity of his career at our last event when he challenged for the WWA Heavyweight Championship. His plan was to walk out of Los Angeles as the Champion and then deal with his rival, Jake Roberts. Become the new Champion he did not and it was because of Roberts. Now Garvin really has it out for him. But Roberts has Garvin exactly where he wants him. Roberts always seems to be one step ahead of his opponents and when they think they've figured him out, he's already made the next move. Garvin showed little restraint when it came to the rules and he was wrestling this match with a vengeance and a rage inside. In the closing moments Roberts had his back to the corner while Garvin was standing on the second rope raining punches down on him. Out of desperation Roberts waistlocked Garvin and dropped down. Garvin couldn't catch himself and his skull collided with the exposed metal turnbuckle! He was staggered and in prime position for a DDT which is exactly what finished him off.
Jake Roberts pinned Ron Garvin with the DDT in 0:11:03. Rating: ** 1/2
Roberts picks up a huge win and looked impressive in the process. Garvin has suffered devastating back-to-back losses but knowing how gutsy and gritty of a competitor he is he should be right back in the thick of things in no time.
9. Your Main Event WWA Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals Match for the vacant WWA Tag Team Titles The Ninja Express w/Gary Hart vs. Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero
The Cow Palace was buzzing with anticipation for our Main Event. Both teams have already had tough opponents earlier in the night but they came out ready for battle. Santana & Guerrero looked very strong as the match began, feeding off the unanimous cheers from the crowd! But The Ninja Express have proven time and time again that they can take a whole lot of punishment and still stay in the fight. And they were at their dirtiest in this main event. But this brought out even more emotion and outpouring of support from the fans to Santana & Guerrero. Santana took the brunt of the punishment including a number of double team moves. Guerrero was shaking on the ring apron hoping for a tag. When Santana finally made it the roof came off the Cow Palace as he laid into both Ninjas! The numbers caught up to him quickly as he couldn't take on both for very long but a rejuvenated Tito Santana was right there fighting side-by-side with him! All four men were brawling as the referee frantically tried to gain control! His priority was getting Santana & Mr. Pogo out of the ring but while he was distracted with them, Gary Hart had an opportunity to get involved! He jumped on the ring apron getting Guerrero's attention. As Guerrero contemplated knocking Hart out Kendo Nagasaki grabbed him, holding Guerrero's arms behind his back and leaving him wide open. Hart reached into his pocket and pulled out the same powder he had used against The Fantastics earlier in the night. He tossed the powder but Guerrero ducked and Nagasaki was the one blinded! Guerrero then took Nagasaki over with the Butterfly Suplex! Gary Hart could only watch in horror as referee Dean Ross turned and made the three count!!
[WWA Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals] Hector Guerrero and Tito Santana defeated The Ninja Express (Kendo Nagasaki and Mr. Pogo) when H. Guerrero pinned K. Nagasaki with the Butterfly Suplex in 0:24:55. Rating: ***** (Hector Guerrero and Tito Santana won the WWA Tag Team Titles.)
HERE ARE YOUR WINNERS…. AND NEW WWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! TITO SANTANA & HECTOR GUERRERO!
An unbelievable match to cap off an amazing night of wrestling in the Cow Palace!! Not a single fan was sitting in the arena as Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero celebrated their victory holding the WWA Tag Team titles over their heads!

We got to you a little quicker this time. It's good to see WWA get to post more often.
Looks like Jannetty is the one moving up the ladder. Farris provides some entertainment as a mid-carder, but don't know if he'll be able to make it much past that until he becomes Honky.
Surprised Magnum/Gang went on second. Figured it would get a higher billing. The match itself was done in a way that can continue the feud. I'm all for that.
A rare face vs. face tag team match. You've done a great job in building up Brad Armstrong as someone who is on the verge of breaking out. He's still at a point, though, where he can take a job. Santana and Guerrero probably have a better shot at the straps in the finals. I still think you have the chance to make Brad a top face in the company.
Tonga and Stevens is an odd pairing in my mind. I'll see how well they compliment each other in the next couple of shows.
You needed a heal team to compete against Santana and Guerrero, and the Ninja Express fit that role perfectly. I'm slightly surprised the Fantastics aren't your first tag team champions, but you don't always want the big names to win the titles right off the bat. Gives them the ability to chase which is where the money is at.
Boom. Big John Studd being dropped is huge. Sounds like he's gone, but if he is still around, I'm sure he won't be happy being fired. This was a nice way of transferring a bit of Studd's heat over to Eadie. Makes Eadie seem like the new big guy in the House.
I can't believe this fan has been able to resist Rude. Thought Haynes might make an appearance, but no problems that he didn't. It was a thoroughly entertaining segment to get Rude some heat, and I'm just waiting for Haynes to clean his clock.
What a hot angle! That had to have the fans coming unglued. A brilliant way to lead into a future Dog Collar Match. Adonis was not hurt at all by this loss, and it really makes you want to see the rematch because you know it is going to be a bloody affair.
Haha. Great bit with Funk at the end. No surprise Mascaras went over Johnson, but don't think he'll have as much luck with Funk in San Diego.
That has to be considered a huge upset for Jake Roberts.
And you got your first five star encounter. Bravo. Those are so much harder to get than you'd think. The ending was great booking with the powder reappearing but this time the faces were ready. Santana and Guerrero make good first champions, and I'm sure the Ninja Express will be looking for a rematch. Possibly a chance to get your second five star match as well.
Good show!

Jannetty is the right man to go over here. Farris obviously has a lot of upside, but none of that comes until he's the Honky Tonk Man.
Like Josh said, little strange seeing this match go on second. That being said, happy with the outcome. One Man Gang is a tough man to figure out, so I like that Magnum kind of got lucky. Makes me want to see a rematch to see if he can beat him clean.
Brad Armstrong is going to be big - but not yet. He still has a little to learn, and Santana/Hector are just in a better position. They make a fun team. They're my pick to win this still.
The more I read about Tonga/Haku/Meng, the more I just love him. He was such a bad ass. I can't wait to steal him from you. At this point in his career, he should learn a lot from Stevens. He's one of the best tag wrestlers of all-time.
With the Ninja Express being the only heel team in the tourney, they kind of had to win. Even though the result wasn't in doubt, I liked the finish. I'm happy you have just made them garbage wrestlers. Messy brawlers, sure, but it's not just weapons.
Easy win for Eadie. And Studd is already gone. TNM is a bitch sometimes. Could get Eadie a nice singles push though.
Rick Rude pose down! Yes! This female fan needs to be thrown out, but I imagine she got a huge pop for dousing Rude with the drink. Haynes/Rude is one of my favorite angles right now.
Steve Williams gets a flash win over Adonis, but pays the price. I love a good old-fashioned beatdown like that, and we haven't had a lot of dog collar matches in this universe. I think Josh has had one, and I've maybe had... two? Three? Josh the Historian needs to look this up.
Mascaras winning was no surprise. His time is probably short, so might as well get a sellout heavyweight title match first. Funk was a lot of fun. I love a character who can be really funny like Funk was tonight, but no one would take him lightly in a fight.
Tough patch for Garvin. I bet he comes back next show with a big win. That being said, big time for Roberts. He's going to be a star, and soon.
Great main event, and congrats on getting your first ***** match. It's the first one overall since... 9/16/83, so almost 2 years. Great writeup too. Liked the cheating for working this time around. Santana/Guerrero are great. Love them as the first champs.

Jannetty winning the rubber match gives him a good push, I wonder where he'll go from here.
A countout victory for OMG is the right start to this feud.
Guerrero and Santana are the right ones to go over. Stevens and Tonga make an interesting team, and since they're not in the tournament, they need to take matters into their own heads to be considered for future title shots.
With a face team already in the finals, I think my bet on the Fantastics will be a longshot... and it is. The Ninjas vs the Mexicans in the final!
Studd quit on you? He isn't making any friends in either promotion in this universe I think, and I think his role will be marginal from now on.
The Billy Haynes-woman is probably someone we will see more of. I wonder who she can be..
Williams defeats the House again, but it's Adonis and Humperdinck who get the last laugh. So far, that is.
Could have gone either way in the #1 contender's match, but if Mascaras isn't here for the long run, he was the right choice to get a feud/match against Funk at this point.
Knocking your head on the steel post and then getting DDT-et should be enough to put down anyone.
Wow! A 5-star match? That's amazing. I think you made a good call on the face team as the winners. Now you have a heel singles champion, and face tag champions.
Good show!

Tonga and Stevens is a nod to Bockwinkle and Saito in AWA. It's an experiment so I can't guarantee success or longevity but we'll see how it goes.
I'm expecting a huge attendance in our San Diego debut with Mascaras headlining.
I couldn't have been more shocked about the 5 stars. It was a great way to finish the night and crown Champions.
Thanks for the feedback!

Ah! Teaching me something here. Don't know a ton of AWA history. Enough to get me by, but this Saito/Bockwinkel pairing is something I didn't know much about.
I would expect Mascaras going for the gold in San Diego should get you plenty of fans coming to the arena.

WWA - July 27, 1985 from Sports Arena in San Diego, CAThe fans have filled up the Sports Arena for WWA's debut in San Diego! Tonight we'll see the newly crowned Tag Team Champions, Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero, in a non-title match. Also, we'll get our first look at a brand new team who has joined the ranks of WWA, The Sheepherders! And let's not forget our huge Main Event - Mil Mascaras challenges Terry Funk for the WWA Heavyweight Championship! Let's get to it! 1. King Tonga (w/Ray Stevens) vs. Brad Armstrong (w/"Bullet" Bob Armstrong)Last month we found out that Ray Stevens & King Tonga have formed an alliance and their first task is to deal with the Armstrongs who have been a thorn in Stevens' side for some time. Tonga has shown a ton of potential every time out and under the tutelage of Stevens the sky could be the limit for him. Brad Armstrong is another young stud who seems to have unlimited potential but has yet to harness it. His father was at ringside for this match to keep an eye on Stevens who was also ringside to support Tonga. Both youngsters took instruction well from their managers at ringside but when match came to a conclusion it was Tonga hitting a spot on Savate Kick to Brad's jaw for the win. King Tonga pinned Brad Armstrong with the Savate Kick in 0:12:30. Rating: *Tonga stood over Brad looking completely dominate as the referee raised his hand. "Bullet" Bob took offense to this and slid into the ring. This backed Tonga up, but not by much. Enough for "Bullet" Bob to stand over his son and challenge Tonga to try him. Stevens shouted to Tonga to save the old man for him. Tonga backed away, never taking his eyes off of "Bullet" Bob. It appears that King Tonga will be a great investment for Stevens. 2. Bill "The Ax" Eadie (w/Sir Oliver Humperdink) vs. "Soulman" Rocky JohnsonSir Oliver Humperdink has high hopes for Bill Eadie now that Big John Studd is out of the picture. Eadie would be in for a real test though as he was set to battle with Rocky Johnson. Johnson is looking to bounce back after losing a Top Contenders Match last week to Mil Mascaras. Both of these men match up pretty evenly when it comes to strength and brawling as we saw early in this match with both wrestlers feeling each other out. Johnson was looking to connect with that Johnson Shuffle punch combination while Eadie was looking to close the distance and wear down him down. Things swung in Eadie's favor after he connected with a double thrust across Johnson's throat. He then wore Johnson down with numerous overhand clubs to the back and started take the air out of Johnson with a front facelock and bear hug. Johnson dug deep and battled back. A side suplex almost secured a win for Johnson but Eadie kicked out. Johnson hit the ropes but Eadie caught him coming off with a clothesline. Eadie saw the opportunity and locked in the Cobra Clutch. Johnson fought the hold for a minute and a half but he punched himself out and when his body went limp referee Bill Alfonso called for the bell! Bill Eadie made Rocky Johnson submit to the Cobra Clutch in 0:10:37. Rating: * 1/2The crowd looked stunned as Eadie had his hand raised in victory. Sir Oliver Humperdink joyously entered the ring, pointing to Eadie calling him unbeatable. He may be right after that victory. But one thing is for certain, the Cobra Clutch is a lethal finishing move and it could carry "The Ax" to the top of the WWA. 3. The Ninja Express (w/Gary Hart) vs. Marty Jannetty & Shawn MichaelsThe Ninja Express almost became Tag Team Champions last month. They lost in the finals against Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero in a match that many are saying is the best in WWA's short history. The loss was obviously weighing heavy on them as well as their manager, Gary Hart, because tonight they were absolutely vicious. Marty Jannetty is on the rise and tonight he's teaming with Shawn Michaels who hasn't found much success yet. However, the two worked well together. They had great chemistry for two guys who have never teamed before but the Ninja Express is at the top of their game right now. They used the referees 5 count liberally, choking and gouging at Jannetty & Michaels. The fans completely despise the Ninja Express and their tactics but it's tough to argue that it doesn't work for them. After Shawn Michaels missed a flying dropkick, Mr. Pogo spiked him with a piledriver for the win. The Ninja Express (Kendo Nagasaki and Mr. Pogo) defeated Marty Jannetty and Shawn Michaels when Mr. Pogo pinned Michaels after a piledriver in 0:07:34. Rating: ** 3/4We learned that the Ninja Express will receive a rematch against Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero for the WWA Tag Team Titles next month in San Francisco! If the rematch is anything like the last time these two teams met the roof of the Cow Palace could literally blow right off! 4. Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. Magnum T.A.Magnum T.A. made his WWA debut last month taking on the One Man Gang. He was victorious, but by countout. Tonight he hoped to get a more decisive victory. He would be locking up with Jake Roberts, though. Roberts is a guy that is always prepared for his opponents. He likes to have a game plan and stick to it. And his best laid plans always end with the DDT. Magnum has an aura about him that just makes people pay attention. The fans in San Francisco were getting their first look at him but they became fans of his quickly. Magnum was full of energy as he took over the early parts of the match. After a missed charge into the corner, Roberts turned the tides with a well placed knee lift. Roberts slowed the match down dramatically at this point. He methodically put the heat on Magnum in an attempt to leave him vulnerable for the DDT. Just when Roberts thought he was ready, Magnum powered out and backdropped Roberts. Roberts quickly got to his feet but Magnum was already getting his second wind. After two clotheslines Magnum ascended the top rope and came off with a diving clothesline sending Roberts' head spinning! Roberts staggered to his feet and walked right into a side suplex which was enough for Magnum to get the win! Magnum T.A. pinned Jake Roberts after a side suplex in 0:09:40. Rating: ** 1/2If anyone didn't take notice to Magnum before this match they certainly will now. Magnum hung in their with Roberts and nearly fell victim to the DDT but tonight he was the better man. 5. The Sheepherders vs. The FantasticsThe Sheepherders, Luke & Butch, are a wild duo from New Zealand. They might be new to the WWA but they've been around wrestling for over 20 years already. They looked happy to be here in WWA as they made their way to the ring with toothless grins on their faces. They would be squaring off with the popular Fantastics. The Fantastics were a favorite to win last month's tournament for the Tag Team Titles but were cheated out of a win due to outside interference from Gary Hart. They were more than happy to step into the ring with the debuting Sheepherders to try to get themselves back on track. Butch started the match off and extended his hand to Bobby Fulton. Fulton looked hesitant but he shook his hand. Butch smiled and the two locked up. Fulton outwrestled Butch, frustrating him to the point where his only option was to tag in Luke. Fulton tagged in Tommy Rogers and this time Luke extended the hand. The two shook hands and tied up. Rogers did the same as his partner and outwrestled Luke. Luke struggled to break free from an armlock and when he couldn't find a way out he stuck his thumb right in Tommy Rogers' eye! Then Luke turned to Bobby Fulton and spit at him! So much for sportmanship! Fulton instantly took offense and entered the ring also bringing in Butch. All four men were duking it out and Eddie Gersh couldn't get control. After being shoved to the mat by not only the Sheepherders but also The Fantastics he was forced to throw the match out. The Sheepherders (Sheepherder Butch and Sheepherder Luke) and The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers) battled to a no contest in 0:04:28. Rating: * 1/2The two teams continued to brawl for at least another minute before The Sheepherders exited the ring. The Fantastics encouraged them to enter but The Sheepherders had no interest in continuing the fight. In fact, they just smiled at The Fantastics before leaving ringside. The Fantastics have made it clear that they want rematch. They know now what kind of guys The Sheepherders are and they want to teach them a lesson. A rematch has been signed for San Francisco on August 24! 6. "Ravishing" Rick Rude vs. Billy Jack HaynesThe animosity between these two men continues to grow night after night. Rick Rude prides himself on being the man every woman dreams of. There is one exception, however. A young, blonde woman who just so happens to be a huge Billy Jack Haynes fan. Well that same young lady was once again in the crowd tonight and just before Haynes and Rude were going to lock up Rude noticed her. He immediately jumped down to ringside to have a few words. Last time he did this she dumped a drink over his head. This time he wasn't messing around. He demanded she be removed from ringside! As security moved in Rude rolled back into the ring satisfied. At the same time, Haynes rolled out of the ring and STOPPED the security guys. Instead, he invited the female fan to sit by the timekeeper! She was flabbergasted as Haynes held his hand out to help her over the railing. Rude was livid as she took her seat right next to the ring. As the match went on Rude was constantly distracted by her presence. Whenever he had the upper hand he would pose in her direction or gyrate his hips. She wasn't impressed to say the least. And when Haynes had the upper hand she applauded enthusiastically. As the match came closer to ending, referee Bill Alfonso got a little too close to the action. As Rude was prone in the corner, Haynes charged but Rude pulled Alfonso in front of him, sandwiching him. Rude staggered away from Haynes as Haynes checked on Alfonso. Rude reached into his tights and pulled a foreign object out. The young lady at ringside noticed and ran towards the ring, reached in and grabbed Rude's foot. Rude put the foreign object back in his trucks and tried to pull his foot away. In doing so he actually dragged her into the ring. Once she realized where she was at, she stood up and was cornered. Rude had a perverted smirk on his face as he inched closer towards her. Rude planted a kiss on her lips! She tried to fight it at first but she seemed to give up as Rude lowered her softly to the ring. At that moment Haynes sneaked in and rolled Rude up for the win! Billy Jack Haynes pinned Rick Rude after an inside cradle in 0:12:22. Rating: *** 1/4
Rude was more livid now than he was when the match began! Haynes rolled out of the ring and helped the young lady get out of the ring. Haynes grabbed the house microphone and then grabbed Rude's attention. He asked the girl what her name was she timidly said "MISSY… MISSY HYATT" as she wiped Rude's kiss off her lips. Haynes told Rude that should teach him to show women, and especially Missy Hyatt, some respect! Rude shouted insults in their direction but the crowds jeers were drowning him out. Shortly after the match, Rude said he wanted Haynes in the ring again next month! Haynes agreed before adding that Missy Hyatt would be his special ring valet for the match! 7. "The Crippler" Ray Stevens vs. "Bullet" Bob ArmstrongEarlier in the night we saw Stevens' new ally, King Tonga, soundly defeat Brad Armstrong. We already know that next month Stevens & Tonga team up to face The Armstrongs. But now it was Stevens turn to tangle with Brad's father, "Bullet" Bob, one-on-one. These two veterans went to work right away, going hold for hold and counter for counter. They've both been in professional wrestling for a long time and neither one was about to give an inch. "Bullet" Bob started to run away with the match nearly pinning Stevens with a belly-to-belly suplex. Stevens rolled out of the ring and decided he'd had enough. He simply walked out of the match! The referee had no choice but to count him out. Bob Armstrong defeated Ray Stevens by countout in 0:08:59. Rating: ** 1/2Stevens wasn't leaving though. In fact, he had a plan. He came back through the curtain with King Tonga! Now "Bullet" Bob was left standing alone in the ring as Stevens & Tonga approached. As they slid in, "Bullet" Bob did his best to fend them off. Quickly the two-on-one became too much and Stevens & Tonga started to put a beating on him. Brad Armstrong rushed to the ring and slid in to try to even the odds but he was overwhelmed also. Eventually, both Armstrongs were laid out on the mat. Stevens gave Brad Armstrong a Bombs Away Kneedrop for good measure before leaving the ring. That sends one hell of a message to The Armstrongs going into their match in San Francisco. 8. Non-Title Match Wayne Farris & One Man Gang (w/Gary Hart) vs. WWA Tag Team Champions Tito Santana & Hector GuerreroBy the looks of things, this was a tryout for Wayne Farris to join Gary Hart International. Gary Hart was clearly giving him instructions as they came to the ring with One Man Gang. Their opponents tonight are the newly crowned WWA Tag Team Champions, Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero. Gary Hart was more than happy to sign One Man Gang up for this match because he sees it as a chance to soften up the Champions for next month when Hart's Ninja Express challenge for the titles. Things didn't go so smoothly for Hart though as the Champions looked extremely good tonight! Farris never really found his stride in this match and eventually he was the one falling victim to a Santana Flying Forearm! [Non Title Match] Tito Santana and Hector Guerrero defeated One Man Gang and Wayne Farris when T. Santana pinned Farris with the Flying Forearm in 0:15:45. Rating: ** 1/2 [Gary Hart interfered against Tito Santana.]Gary Hart and One Man Gang looked irritated and angry. As Farris lay unconscious in the center of the ring Hart made it very clear that there was no way Farris would be a part of Gary Hart International. As Hart & Gang left, Ken Resnick stood at ringside to interview Santana & Guerrero. They put over their win last month and said they're very proud to represent WWA, as well as Mexico, as Tag Team Champions! It wasn't long before Gary Hart was right back at ringside interrupting the interview. He said the Ninja Express are a much more formidable team and next month they would be taking the Tag Team titles. 9. Dog Collar Match Adrian Adonis (w/Sir Oliver Humperdink) vs. "Dr. Death" Steve WilliamsSteve Williams is young man with a bright future. In his first night in WWA he wrestled 3 matches in the WWA Heavyweight Title tournament and nearly won it, only to be defeated by Terry Funk in the finals. Ever since that night, Sir Oliver Humperdink has been on a mission to derail "Dr. Death". Humperdink's weapon of choice is Adrian Adonis and last month Adonis almost ended Williams for good when he put the dog collar around his neck and nearly choked the life out of him. It was the most vulnerable we had ever seen Williams. But now Williams is looking to exact revenge. In the most dangerous match WWA has ever promoted, Williams and Adonis will wear dog collars around their necks and be chained together! Only the referee can remove the dog collars and the chain can be used as a weapon. What we saw here was nothing short of barbaric. Both men used the chain without hesitation. Adonis was lacerated early when Williams wrapped the chain around his fist and leveled Adonis just above the right eye. Williams would later see crimson as Adonis savagely ground the chain across his forehead. Adonis continued his assault by whipping and choking Williams with the chain any chance he got. The referee was in close making sure that Williams could compete. Williams refused to quit. He refused to stay down. Adonis thought he had Williams where he wanted him when he slowly began climbing the top rope. What Adonis had in mind we'll never know because Williams yanked the chain causing Adonis to lose his balance and crotch himself on the ropes. Williams had a fire in his eyes at this point. He started dishing out the punishment with the chain much like Adonis did earlier. Williams whipped him relentlessly! Then he wrapped the chain around Adonis's head and tossed him three quarters across the ring! Williams then finally hit the Oklahoma Stampede for the win! [Dog Collar Match] Steve Williams pinned Adrian Adonis with the Oklahoma Stampede in 0:17:30. Rating: **** 1/4A bloodied and battered Steve Williams needed to use the ropes to hold himself up as the referee raised his hand. Humperdink was throwing a tantrum at ringside before he decided to head to the dressing room, leaving Adonis laid out in the ring. This has to be considered the biggest win of Williams career. 10. Your Main Event WWA Heavyweight Title Match Mil Mascaras vs. WWA Heavyweight Champion Terry FunkThe fans were still recovering from what they just witnessed when Mil Mascaras jogged his way to the ring. The fans in San Diego were on their feet cheering for him. A lot of them have actually traveled across the border to see their hero take on the dastardly Terry Funk. Funk could care less about the San Diego fans and he made that clear as he came to the ring. Mascaras earned this shot last month by defeating his friend, Rocky Johnson, in a Top Contenders Match. Mascaras' technical wizardry was on display in this match as he tied up Funk in all kinds of submission holds. Funk tried to brawl with the masked legend but Mascaras steered clear of Funk's wild haymakers and kept most of the match on the mat. Things started to heat up a bit when Funk backed Mascaras into a corner and started raining overhand clubs down. Funk then dragged Mascaras out and started working the leg. He wanted to ground the luchadore before he had a chance to climb the ropes for his patented Flying Cross Body Press. When he felt like Mascaras was worn down enough he went for the Spinning Toe Hold. But Mascaras used his other leg to push Funk between the ropes and to the floor. Mascaras shook off the pain in his leg and climbed the ropes to dive out onto Funk. But as he was perched a man dressed similar to Terry Funk in a poncho, cowboy hat, and carrying a whip appeared and stood over Funk. We recognized him as RON BASS! Ron Bass was here and preventing Mascaras from diving onto Funk! Referee Bill Alfonso hopped down to try to force Bass to leave. In doing so, Bass was distracted enough the Mascaras actually dove OVER Bass and Alfonso onto Funk! Mascaras rolled Funk into the ring and covered him! Alfonso slid back into the ring and counted 1… 2… BASS BREAKS IT UP!! Mil Mascaras defeated Terry Funk by disqualification in 0:11:42. Rating: ** (Terry Funk retained the WWA Heavyweight Title.) [Ron Bass interfered against Mil Mascaras.]HERE IS YOUR WINNER AS A RESULT OF A DISQUALIFICATION… MIL MASCARAS! HOWEVER, THE CHAMPIONSHIP CANNOT CHANGE HANDS BY DISQUALIFICATION. THEREFORE... STILL WWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! TERRY FUNK! Bass started stomping away on Mascaras who was struggling to get to his feet to fight back. Bass wouldn't give him any room though and started coming down on him with the butt of his whip. The fans were hoping someone would come and help Mascaras and Rocky Johnson did just that. The "Soulman" slid into ring and went for Bass but Bass was able to duck through the ropes and get out of there. Bass then pulled Funk's limp body out of the ring. All four men exchanged words as Bass and Funk retreated to the locker room area. Next month these four men will meet in a Tag Team match when WWA returns to the Cow Palace! Card Rating: ** 3/4Circuit Information: August 24, 1985 - THE COW PALACE - San Francisco, CAWWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero © vs. The Ninja Express The Sheepherders vs. The Fantastics Rick Rude vs. Billy Jack Haynes w/valet Missy Hyatt Ray Stevens & King Tonga vs. The Armstrongs Terry Funk & Ron Bass vs. Mil Mascaras & Rocky Johnson

I think Haku is one of those guys in this universe that will end up having a much bigger career as far as impact than he did in real life. I love Haku, and it's crazy that really, he has until like 2003 to be utilized as a big time name. Brad had a good showing, but he needs more polish to figure out how to beat monsters like Tonga.
Looks like Eadie is about to get a big push. With how you had positioned Johnson up to this point, Eadie putting him out with the Cobra Clutch is huge. It makes Eadie legit right away.
Remember 7/27/85 - the first official teaming of Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty. You knew they would lose, but I'm glad you planted the seeds of their chemistry and such because bigger things are on the horizon for these two. Meanwhile, that rematch in SF will be great. Don't think we're getting ***** again, but should be a damn good one.
Good win for Magnum that put over Roberts as well. That's the perfect kind of match - one where both guys benefit.
Well, glad to see the Sheepherders are still as ornery as ever. The handshake threw me off, but glad to see that didn't last long. It won't be long before Luke & Butch are bushwhacking it up, so glad we'll see them at their most serious one more time. I like starting them with the Fantastics too. Talk about polar opposites.
Loving the payoff with this Missy Hyatt act. It's a bit weird seeing her as the innocent young fan enamored with Haynes, considering what we know of her in real life, but we didn't know that in 1985! I think it won't be long before she turns on Haynes as she makes a better heel, but this has been a great way to debut her.
Stevens didn't pick up a win tonight, but he made sure the Armstrongs would be a little worse for wear going into San Francisco. That's a savvy veteran right there.
Well, you got on the card, Wayne, but it was to do some job duty. Like that you at least played it off like he was auditioning for a spot in Gary Hart International. Better luck next time, Honky.
That's how you put someone over, Adonis. Damn. Great match, and makes me glad I loaned you Adonis. This was a hell of a fight, and made Steve Williams look even stronger. Dr. Death definitely has the eye of GCW management, I'll tell you that.
Great debut for Bass to put him right in the main event picture, and given his reputation, that was a good way to book Mascaras. He looked good, but you didn't take the title off of Funk, which is where it needs to be now and for the foreseeable future. Tag match should have a lot of heat.

Pretty big win for King Tonga. Armstrong is no stepping stone in this Universe. I like that you paired him up with Stevens.
Eadie is going to need some more wins like this one to catapult him onto the level of Big John Studd. So far you've done a good job of elevating him on the last two shows.
The Midnight Rockers have their first match together, and I like that it was treated as nothing special in the grand scheme of things. Only we know what is ahead of them.
Magnum is no joke. I think he might be next in line to seriously challenge Funk for the title.
Impressive debut for the Sheepherders. Not many teams can go toe-to-toe with the Fantastics, but they looked to be on the same level as them. I have a feeling this feud might get bloody before it is over.
I was about to say I was really interested in finding out who this blonde woman was. BUT MISSY HYATT? Wow. Great debut for her. You've given her some personality, and it'll be fun seeing her go against Rude.
Armstrongs had a tough night. I'm sure they will regain their momentum with a strong showing in San Francisco.
Couldn't really see Farris being part of GHI, but it was fun to see him have a tryout match for Hart.
Whoa. Great match between Williams and Adonis. I'm guessing this puts an end to the feud and leaves Williams to move on. You've truly made a superstar out of Dr. Death. Between him and Magnum you have some strong challengers for Funk.
Bass' debut immediately gets him over with the crowd. No way will they forgive him for costing their hero the title. Bass is a nice fit for the WWA right now.
Looks like San Fran is packed full of tag team action.

6-29-85 House Show
Time to crown the first ever WWA tag champs. Excited to see who wins them.
Good win for Jannetty and its back to the drawing board for Farris.
Quite the matchup between Magnum and the Gang. Great booking to get Magnum the win in his first match but not making the Gang look weak.
Pleasantly surprised that Tito and Hector advance. Stevens challenges the Armstrongs and he has King Tonga as his partner! Hopefully this starts Tonga’s path on becoming a notable player in this universe.
The Ninja Express steal the win and advance. A bit surprised that Fantastics aren’t in the finals, but I think the Ninja Express needed the win more to establish themselves as a menace in your tag division.
Studd left! Wow, that’s too bad. I had a feeling that you were positioning the HOH as your top heel team. Still, Eadie has a chance to make an impact as a solo performer. Let’s see what you can do with him.
You’ve got Rude down to a tee. He looks to be a potential franchise heel. And the fan appears again! I wonder who this could be?
Dr. Death continues his feud with the HOH and gets the win over Adonis. I wasn’t expecting such an aggressive assault post match from Adonis but I like where it’s going. That dog collar match should be brutal.
Mascaras gets the win and will face Funk next month. Fun bit post match between Funk and the faces. Should be a hot main event.
Good win for Roberts to keep the feud even.
Fantastic main event and you got the full monty! Awesome to see Tito and Hector as champs! Very deserving. I’m sure Gary Hart’s not going to let too much time pass before demanding a rematch.
7/27/85 House Show
In the battle of the more rookie partners, Tonga gets the win against Brad. Both of these guys have potential to achieve more success than they did in real life. Let’s see how the veterans do later on.
That win over Rocky shows that Eadie should be taken seriously in the singles ranks.
Inauspicious debut for the potential soon to be Midnight Rockers (as it should be). The Ninja Express is primed for their rematch.
Another strong win for Magnum. You’re building him up well to eventually challenge Funk. Roberts looked good even though he lost. I’m waiting for a blow off between Garvin and Roberts though.
The Sheepherders are here! And it looks like we are seeing the start of a feud with the Fantastics. This has the potential to get bloody.
Rude vs. Haynes is next and the female fan’s there again. Rude’s attention is not fully on the match and it ends up costing him. And the fan is Missy Hyatt!?! Was not expecting that. Nice to see her appear in the universe though. This is a fun feud.
Stevens is such a smart veteran. He sacrificed the battle to set up a possible win of the war.
Nice touch with Farris being on a tryout to join Hart’s group. Didn’t work out for him though. The champs are ready for their first defense.
Absolutely brutal match between Adonis and Dr. Death, which does a lot for both of them. Williams’ star continues to rise.
Nice main event and Ron Bass is in the WWA. Next month’s tag match should be fun and I’m hoping that Rocky gets a title match against Funk soon.
I’m looking forward to more WWA. You’ve got a few choices for the next big challenger to Funk once he’s done with Mascaras and Rocky. Magnum, Dr. Death and even Billy Jack are a great group of potentially strong challengers. Rude, Roberts and Eadie are coming along on the heel side. And your tag division is really rounding into form.

After the success Magnum TA has already had in the universe, his appearance automatically brings more prestige to the promotion. I can really see him getting in the title picture soon. There's definitely a lot of talent here though its young and up and coming.
Cool to see Jannetty and Michaels paired together like the others said. You did a good job downplaying the importance of the duo yet still planting seeds for the future. We'll have to see in the next five years or so if they end up in the same promotion as Brutus Beefcake.
I've always been a big Rick Rude fan and would love to see him fly higher in this universe than he did in real life. He's got a nice angle going with Haynes to develop his character.

July 27
Wohoo! Michaels and Jannetty's first outing as a team!
Magnum looking good. But he has looked good for two other promotions as well - better stay in the good graces of WWA Magnum!
GOod to see the Sheepherders making it still. And still up to no good!
So the female fan was Missy Hyatt! This should be interesting. I like the feud between Haynes and Rude very much.
One Armstrong got away with the win though, albeit by countout. I think Stevens and Tonga will have their numbers next month.
Dr. Death puts Adonis behind him in a brutal, but excellent match.
A dq can be a good way to prolong a feud, and this also brought in Ron Bass. I think Mascaras will have another shot at the title later, but I doubt he'll win it.

WWA - August 24, 1985 from The Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA
1. Ray Stevens & King Tonga vs. Brad Armstrong & "Bullet" Bob Armstrong
Our evening started off with this heated tag team match. Ray Stevens recently recruited the dangerous King Tonga to help him in settling his rivalry with the father/son duo of "Bullet" Bob & Brad Armstrong. Tonga has been impressive under Stevens' tutelage and combined they make a very formidable tag team. The Armstrongs have too improved as a tag team but even more notable is Brad's continued progression. Tonight Brad seemed to come into his own, showing more fire and technical savvy than we've seen from him before. He and Tonga set a quick pace in the early minutes of the match. Even "Bullet" Bob showed some quick mat work out-wrestling Tonga. However, once Stevens got in the ring, the old veteran that he is slowed the pace and went to work on the elder Armstrong. He and Tonga tried numerous times to put Bob away but Bob is not an easy man to beat. With one last burst of energy, Bob countered a bulldog attempt by Stevens with a back suplex and made the tag! Brad came in hot just as Stevens made the tag to Tonga! Brad was a house of fire as he unloaded with rights and lefts on the islander. Clothesline, back elbow, and a body slam had Tonga reeling in the center of the ring. Brad hit the ropes behind him but Stevens was there and planted a knee right in his kidney. Tonga shook off the cobwebs and laid out Brad with a thrust kick that was dangerously close to the throat. Stevens then demanded he be tagged in, which Tonga obliged. Stevens measured Brad, who was already falling in and out of consciousness on the mat, and dropped the Bombs Away Kneedrop on him to pick up the win!
King Tonga and Ray Stevens defeated Bob Armstrong and Brad Armstrong when R. Stevens pinned Brad Armstrong with the Bombs Away Kneedrop in 0:10:42. Rating: ** 1/2
The Armstrongs fought hard but Stevens & Tonga, the wily veteran and his charge, picked up the win. It wasn't long after the match that we received word that Brad wants to step in the ring with Ray Stevens one more time, one-on-one, to finish things between them. This whole feud started back in May when Brad got an upset victory over Stevens. The match has been signed for next month in Fresno but it's also been made a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match!
2. Bill "The Ax" Eadie (w/Sir Oliver Humperdink) vs. "Hands of Stone" Ron Garvin
Sir Oliver Humperdink has made some questionable moves over the last month with regards to his stable. First was the firing of Big John Studd, one of the most sought after big men in the business. Secondly, bringing in Adrian Adonis and within weeks signing him up for a Dog Collar Match with Steve Williams to settle Humperdink's personal grudge against Williams. Adonis, presumably taking time off to heal from his injuries in that match, is no longer on Humperdink's payroll. But one thing Humperdink has done that is without a doubt his biggest achievement to date is let Bill "The Ax" Eadie loose on the WWA. Eadie has been turning a lot of heads since going solo and he's quickly moving into Championship contention. However, one man who has already come so close to winning gold is Ron Garvin but as fast as he rose to the top he's fallen back down the ladder. He looked to rebound tonight against Eadie but Eadie is much larger, much stronger, and right now, unstoppable. Garvin is a guy who can withstand a lot of punishment and go toe-to-toe with anyone but once Eadie locked in that Cobra Clutch it was only a matter of time before Garvin was out cold.
Bill Eadie made Ron Garvin submit to the Cobra Clutch in 0:08:21. Rating: ** 1/4
Eadie tossed Garvin aside and raised his hands in victory. He was dominate against Garvin and it looks like there is no slowing down "The Ax". Humperdink was obviously overjoyed about the victory. He could very well be managing the next Heavyweight Champion if Eadie can keep this streak up.
3. Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams
Steve Williams has quickly become one of the most talked about wrestlers in the country. From the way he debuted in WWA through his victory over Adonis in the brutal Dog Collar Match, Williams has made waves that everyone in the world of wrestling has felt. He received a huge reaction here at The Cow Palace when he came through the curtain. With Sir Oliver Humperdink off his back for now he can finally focus on another shot at the WWA Heavyweight Championship. Jake Roberts, though, is a guy no one should look past. He's capable of anything and he has little to no remorse for his opponents. He's also very smart in the ring. We're used to seeing Williams as a ball of energy, overpowering his opponents and showing off his incredible agility. But Roberts used every trick he could to keep this match at his pace. He kept Williams on the mat with wear-down holds and when that stopped working he resorted to chokes and stomping. Roberts was finding out just how hard it is to keep Williams down. Roberts grew frustrated, which threw him off his game and allowed Williams to make a comeback. Roberts couldn't defend himself against the rush and was soon feeling the wrath of the Oklahoma Stampede!
Steve Williams pinned Jake Roberts with the Oklahoma Stampede in 0:10:16. Rating: *** 1/2
Another impressive win by Williams. It's should only be a matter of time before he's challenging again for the WWA Heavyweight Championship.
4. The Sheepherders vs. The Fantastics
The Sheepherders made their debut last month in San Diego and quickly lived up to their reputation as a vile, disgusting, and dirty tag team. They also wasted no time in making enemies out of The Fantastics who didn't appreciate being spit on and disrespected. Now that the Fantastics knew what they were up against they came to the ring prepared. We saw the usual quick tags and mat work The Fantastics are known for but we also saw them willing to go for punch-for-punch with The Sheepherders. Unfortunately The Fantastics aren't the brawlers The Sheepherders are and it was that willingness to exhange blows that got the Fantastics into some trouble. The Sheepherders cut the ring in half and really did a number on Bobby Fulton. They've been a tag team for a long time and they are much smarter than they look. Fulton was the victim of a number of tag team moves focusing on the abdomen and ribs. Fulton was having a hard time breathing, let alone standing to make a tag. It was obvious The Sheepherders were looking to punish Fulton rather than pin him. Eventually Tommy Rogers had seen enough. The Sheepherders, once again attempting to double-team Fulton, had their backs turned to Rogers as he climbed the ropes. Rogers came off with double dropkick to the back sending The Sheepherders face first to the mat and the fans into a frenzy! Referee Dean Ross backed Rogers out of the ring but the damage was done. Rogers reached out to Fulton who was doing his best to tag and he finally did! Rogers came in like a maniac throwing haymakers and dropkicks sending The Sheepherders all over the ring. Butch managed to grab Rogers and pin his arms behind his back. Luke charged but Rogers moved out of the way and Luke and Butch collided heads! Butch fell through the ropes as Rogers connected with an enzuigiri to pick up the win!
The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers) defeated The Sheepherders (Sheepherder Butch and Sheepherder Luke) when T. Rogers pinned Luke after an enzuigiri in 0:12:07. Rating: 3/4*
Butch didn't waste any time getting back in the ring and blindsiding Rogers! Butch put the boots to Rogers while Luke shook off the effects of the enzuigiri. Luke then joined in on the stomping. Bobby Fulton struggled to get back to his feet pulling himself up with the ropes but The Sheepherders pounced on him before he could do anything. The Sheepherders lifted Fulton off the ground as if to double bodyslam him but instead they dropped him stomach first across their knees with a Double Gutbuster! Fulton was in severe pain on the mat clutching his midsection. Additional referees and officials stormed the ring as The Sheepherders left completely satisfied with what they had done.
Ken Resnick stopped The Sheepherders as they left ringside to get some words. Butch gladly boasted in a thick New Zealand accent about the damage they inflicted on The Fantastics. He wanted this to be a message to all the tag teams in WWA that get in their way. Luke chimed in saying they're here for two reasons: to beat people up and to become the WWA Tag Team Champions! As Butch started rambling again Tommy Rogers attacked! Rogers and The Sheepherders exchanged shots before officials could pull them apart. As The Sheepherders were forced to the locker room Tommy Rogers yelled into the microphone that this isn't over! Fulton needed to be helped to the back and early diagnosis shows a couple of cracked ribs and severe bruising. The Fantastics want a rematch next month in Fresno and Fulton said cracked ribs or not nothing will prevent him from putting a hurting on The Sheepherders.
5. One Man Gang (w/Gary Hart) vs. Magnum T.A.
Back in June here at the Cow Palace Magnum T.A. made his WWA debut and his opponent was the One Man Gang. Magnum won that match by countout and the Gang has wanted to get him back in the ring ever since. Magnum looked great in his victory over the Gang and also last month when he defeated Jake Roberts. One Man Gang wasted no time getting after Magnum as he jumped him while Magnum was removing his biker jacket. Gary Hart looked on with a grin on his face as his 450+ pound monster had his way with the popular Magnum T.A. The Gang thought it would be a great idea to make Magnum a permanent fixture on canvas and he started climbing to the top rope. Slowly. Very slowly. Magnum was stirring on the mat and Gary Hart was shouting for his man to climb faster. Finally with one foot on the top rope the Gang launched himself at Magnum but Magnum rolled out of the way at the last second! The Gang landed hard face first on the mat and his momentum carried him over onto his back. Magnum rolled back towards the Gang and draped his arm over him picking up the unlikely 3 count!
Magnum T.A. pinned One Man Gang after a roll away in 0:06:12. Rating: 1/4*
Magnum took quite a beating but he outsmarted the Gang to win the match. Magnum was hurting but he managed to walk away as the fans reached out to give him high fives on his way to the locker rooms. Gary Hart and the Gang were steaming mad as they exited.
PIPER'S PIT!
Following intermission there was a wave of commotion that went through the crowd. It started at the curtain of the entrance way and within seconds the entire arena was buzzing. No one believed that who they were seeing was actually "Rowdy" Roddy Piper headed to the ring! Piper stood in the ring looking around at the capacity crowd in The Cow Palace as they gave him a standing ovation. An official entered the ring a set up two chairs and then handed Piper a microphone. The crowd once again erupted as Piper said "Ladies and gentlemen… welcome to Piper's Pit!" Piper went on to say that everyone shouldn't look so surprised to see Piper here in WWA. He said he's heard a lot about what's been going on in California and that some of the best wrestling in the world is taking place right here. He was pleased to announce that his first guest on Piper's Pit would be the owner of WWA, Howard Beauchamp. Beauchamp made his way to the ring holding a championship belt that we haven't seen before. Beauchamp first welcomed Piper to the WWA and said he was pleased to have him on the roster. He then went on to announce that The Cow Palace Battle Royal returns to San Francisco on October 5! Not only that but it will be for the brand new West Coast Championship, which is the new belt Beauchamp was holding. It's an achievement in itself to go down in history as a winner of the Cow Palace Battle Royal but now with a Championship on the line the stakes are higher than ever. Twenty men will enter, but only one will become the very first WWA West Coast Champion. Beauchamp then announced that Roddy Piper is the first man entered into the Battle Royal! This got a great reaction from the fans. Beauchamp shook Piper's hand once again as he left the ring. Piper then began addressing the fans in attendance before none other than SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK entered the ring.
Humperdink snatched the microphone from Piper's hand. He wondered out loud why Piper was given his own segment and why Piper was out here wasting time talking about himself when he should be interviewing someone like him. Piper motioned for the microphone back and then warned Humperdink not to take the microphone from him again. He then said he didn't realize the WWA had a working relationship with the munchkins from Oz. The crowd roared with laughter at that comment but Humperdink didn't find it very funny. He snatched the microphone from Piper again. Piper was a bit aggravated now. Humperdink told Piper he might think he's a funny guy and that he's a world class athlete, but Humperdink sees it differently. Humperdink says he knows real talent when he sees it. A guy like Bill "The Ax" Eadie. Piper requested the microphone back and when Humperdink handed it over Piper reminded him to please not take the microphone from him again. Piper said he knows all about Eadie and admits that Eadie is impressive. He went on to say that in fact, he wouldn't mind facing Eadie someday. Humperdink took the microphone once again causing Piper to angrily look out to the crowd. Humperdink said Piper wouldn't stand a chance against Eadie. Piper snatched the microphone back aggressively, but Humperdink pulled it right back and said he wasn't finished. Piper then went nose-to-nose with Humperdink and said that yes, Oliver Humperdink, you are finished. Piper threw the microphone to the ground and grabbed Humperdink by the collar of his shirt. Within seconds BILL EADIE slid into the ring and leveled Piper in the back! Eadie started clubbing away on Piper but Piper started firing back. In no time Piper had the upper hand and had Eadie backed up to the ropes. He looked as if he was going to send Eadie out of the ring but Eadie dropped and rolled out on his own. The "Hot Rod" was fuming in the ring challenging Eadie to get back in but Eadie & Humperdink left ringside without any further commotion. Before the night was over Bill Eadie and Roddy Piper signed on to face each other next month in Fresno!
6. WWA Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk & "Cowboy" Ron Bass vs. "Soulman" Rocky Johnson & Mil Mascaras
Mil Mascaras had an opportunity to become the WWA Heavyweight Champion last month when he challenged Terry Funk but he was robbed due to outside interference from Ron Bass. Funk claimed Bass had every reason to get involved in the match because Funk was outnumbered. It wasn't just him versus Mascaras. He had the entire mexican population of San Diego to contend with in that match he said. Tonight we found out just how good of an ally Ron Bass is as the two teamed up to face Mascaras and long time friend, Rocky Johnson. Mascaras' relied on his technical mastery in this match. While Funk is a solid wrestler his go-to at his age is brawling and he and Bass are a couple of the best in the business in the department but they couldn't counter the holds Mascaras was locking them in. At one point both Funk and Bass threatened to simply walk out of the match out of frustration. They were coaxed back into the ring by Rocky Johnson who was completely willing to throw right and lefts with his opponents. Bass and Johnson eventually brawled into the ropes where referee Bill Alfonso had to step between them. While Alfonso's back was turned Funk dropped Johnson with a clothesline from the ring apron. From then on Funk & Bass went to work really doing a number on the "Soulman". The tide turned when Funk attempted his Spinning Toe Hold but Johnson shoved him through the ropes out of the ring. Bass entered illegally and tried to drop a couple of elbows but Johnson managed to roll away from both and tag in Mascaras. Mascaras came in with chops backing Bass up into the ropes. He shot him off and hit his patented flying cross chop. Funk then entered the ring but he, too, was on the receiving end of the flying cross chop! Funk rolled out of the ring as Mascaras tagged Johnson back in. Together they hit Bass with a double backdrop that electrified the fans. Mascaras then perched on the top rope and dove out of the ring onto Terry Funk with a flying cross body press! Alfonso was briefly distracted by the action outside of the ring that he didn't notice Bass blatantly stick a thumb in the eye of Johnson. Bass then hit Johnson with the Gourdbuster to pick up the win for his team.
Ron Bass and Terry Funk defeated Rocky Johnson and Mil Mascaras when Ron Bass pinned R. Johnson with the Gourdbuster in 0:15:25. Rating: **
Mascaras slid back into the ring as Bass slid out. He and Funk celebrated their victory as the crowd rained insults and boo's down on them. Next month we will find out how "Cowboy" Ron Bass fares one-on-one with Rocky Johnson as Johnson will be looking to avenge this loss.
7. "Gentleman" Chris Adams vs. S.D. Jones
Our next match featured the debut of a man from the United Kingdom, Chris Adams. From what we know Adams is quite the accomplished wrestler in England and he's looking to make a name for himself here in the States. He was announced as he made his way to the ring as "Chris Adams" but once he climbed into the ring he whispered something to the ring announcer. The ring announcer corrected himself and reintroduced Adams as "Gentleman" Chris Adams. At this, Adams smiled and waved to the crowd. The crowd didn't really know how to react for him; some cheered and some boo'd. Everyone cheered his opponent though as S.D. Jones came through the curtain. He doesn't have a great record in WWA but the fans have taken to his personality and willingness to climb in the ring with anyone. Adams showed off some fantastic catch-as-catch-can wrestling here. He would work some fancy armlock, spin Jones around, apply a different hold, then release the hold and do a fancy nip up off his head. He would then extend his hand very "gentlemanly" like. He was treating this match as an exhibition and coming off quite arrogant. The fans were growing tired of his schtick and so was Jones. After a fourth round of English wrestling techniques and nip up Jones dropped Adams with a clothesline. That wiped the smile right off Adams face. Jones then put his hand out for a handshake but instead of shaking it Adams put a boot to Jones gut. Jones was more aggressive now and was using stomps, punches, and slams on Jones. Jones showed a small flurry of offense once more but Adams connected with a thrust kick right on the chin of Jones - he calls it the Superkick. And it was enough to get him a win.
Chris Adams pinned S.D. Jones with the Superkick in 0:08:53. Rating: ** 3/4
"Gentleman" Chris Adams is successful in his debut match but he didn't pick up any new fans. The boo's didn't prevent him from smiling and waving to the crowd. He even bowed his hand and said "Thank You" to different parts of the crowd as if he were getting compliments of some kind. He may be arrogant but he looked great in his debut and he is here to stay.
8. King Tonga vs. Billy Jack Haynes (w/Missy Hyatt)
Rick Rude was the originally scheduled opponent of Billy Jack Haynes. From what we know Rick Rude was inside The Cow Palace earlier this evening but told WWA management that he would not be wrestling Billy Jack Haynes. The reasoning we're unaware of. Rude and Haynes have been at each other for months now it's odd that Rude would just flat out refuse to step in the ring again with Haynes. So instead, Ray Stevens put a word in that King Tonga would gladly take Rude's place. Billy Jack Haynes was accompanied to the ring by Missy Hyatt. She has ditched the t-shirt and shorts for a much nicer silky top and skirt. She seemed a bit a bashful as she came to the ring but the more the fans cheered her and Haynes the more comfortable she was. Despite wrestling earlier in night, Tonga looked fresh and he took the fight to Haynes. These two faced each other back in April and Haynes came out victorious. But Tonga wasn't being influenced by Ray Stevens back then and has improved greatly since. Hyatt originally sat quietly near the time keeper but she was soon right up against the ring shouting encouragement at Haynes. Tonga grew aggravated with her and sent some scary glances in her direction that had her cowering a bit. She's finding out rather quickly that she may be in over her head and she was better suited sitting in the crowd. Haynes persevered, however, and with a second wind got the upper hand with a powerslam. Haynes continued with the offense until he was able to lock Tonga in the Full Nelson. Tonga fought it but Haynes was able to lock his fingers and then it was lights out for Tonga.
Billy Jack Haynes defeated King Tonga when King Tonga passed out in the Full Nelson in 0:15:37. Rating: * 3/4 (Rick Rude no-showed.) [Missy Hyatt interfered against King Tonga]
Hyatt jumped up and down in celebration before entering the ring giving Haynes a big hug. As the two left ringside SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK came to the ring to a chorus of boos. The fans are pretty sick of seeing him tonight. He approached referee Bill Alfonso and seemed rather upset about something. The two went back and forth before Humperdink pulled a card of some sort from his pocket and motioned to it. The two continued discussing the card as they left ringside together. Regardless of what they were discussing, the Board was very impressed with Haynes victory and have granted him a WWA Heavyweight Title Match in Fresno next month!
9. Your Main Event WWA Tag Team Championship Match The Ninja Express (w/Gary Hart) vs. WWA Tag Team Champions Tito Santana & Hector Guerrero
The last time we were at The Cow Palace these two teams met up in the finals of the Tag Team Championship tournament and put on the greatest match we've seen in WWA's short history. Santana & Guerrero left that night as the Tag Team Champions and all the Ninja Express and Gary Hart left with was a face full of powder and bad taste in their mouth. Gary Hart was already upset about One Man Gang's loss earlier in the night and he had the Ninja Express in the mindset of "do whatever it takes to win!" Not that the Ninjas need encouragement like that. They break the rules all the time. They may not even know the rules. Nonetheless, they're a difficult team for anyone to deal with and Santana & Guerrero had to work very hard to make sure they retained their titles tonight. The emotions of the fans were running high as their heroes were in trouble quickly due to the outside distraction of Gary Hart. Santana was the guy the Ninjas focused their aggression towards. The thing about Santana is he has no quit in him. The Ninjas tactics are downright ruthless and painful to watch but Santana battled through everything they gave him eventually making a hot tag to Guerrero! The crowd exploded as the feisty latino tore into the Ninjas. Gary Hart was desperate at this point and tossed the Kendo stick into the ring but Guerrero intercepted it. Rather than use it and get disqualified, Guerrero broke it over his knee before kicking Nagasaki in the gut and hitting the Butterfly Suplex! 1… 2… Mr. Pogo breaks it up! Guerrero fought back on Pogo though. Hart motioned towards the locker room and out came the ONE MAN GANG. Gang slowly made his way towards the ring and all the way up on to the ring apron. Guerrero was daring him to enter the ring before MAGNUM T.A. pulled the Gang off the ring apron and shoved him head first into the ring post! Nagasaki then hit Guerrero from behind and backed him into the ropes. He didn't notice that Tito Santana had reached out and made the tag as Nagasaki shot Guerrero off. Guerrero reversed it and when Nagasaki bounced back Santana met him with the Flying Forearm!
Hector Guerrero and Tito Santana defeated The Ninja Express (Kendo Nagasaki and Mr. Pogo) when T. Santana pinned K. Nagasaki with the Flying Forearm in 0:20:06. Rating: *** (Hector Guerrero and Tito Santana retained the WWA Tag Team Titles.) [Gary Hart interfered against Tito Santana.]
HERE ARE YOUR WINNERS… AND STILL WWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS… TITO SANTANA & HECTOR GUERRERO!
Magnum T.A. grabbed the belts from the time keeper's table, entered the ring, and handed them to the Champions. Gary Hart fumed outside of the ring vowing that this would be the last time any of them make fools out of Gary Hart International. A six-man-tag team match has been signed for Fresno pitting Gary Hart International against Santana, Guerrero, and Magnum T.A.

Glad to see Stevens/Tonga win our opener. Brad probably beats Stevens in the 2/3 falls match, because let's face it - Stevens is old and he's here to elevate young talent. This match also helped Tonga look like a bad ass.
You've really put Eadie over nicely as a force. I can honestly see Demolition getting their first big break here in WWA (provided Darsow leaves NWF). Eadie is kind of a sad miss for me. Had he not broken his ankle in GCW, I think he eventually would have gotten a big singles run. It just killed his momentum.
With how you've positioned Roberts, that's big for Williams. He should be getting a shot in the next card or two I would imagine.
Intense brawl after that tag match. The Fantastics used what they had over the Sheepherders to steal a win, and Luke & Butch showed they're not to be trifled with. These matches are only going to get crazier and crazier.
Well that just wasn't a smart idea, Gang. I like a finish like that though. Magnum gets the win, which he needs, and even though OMG lost, he essentially beat himself because he made one stupid mistake, so he doesn't lose much either. I hope this feud continues.
That's a helluva way to debut somebody! I'm still uber-pissed Piper wouldn't sign with me, but it looks like he's found a home for now. He's far and away your biggest star, so it will be interesting to see what you do with him. You have to figure a rekindling of Piper vs. Funk is your money match.
Ha. I like the overly confident Adams. That gimmick is going to get over huge. Plus he can work so the matches will be awesome. And we totally have a backstory well down the road of where Shawn Michaels learned the Superkick.
Hrm, Rude, that's going to hurt your standing a bit. But Tonga looked good, and Haynes is definitely deserving of a title shot. He's been a pleasant surprise in WWA for me. He's one of my favorites here.
Hot ending to the show. I don't think you'll be able to recreate that magic of the 5-star match. Either way, a fun match, and liked the involvement of OMG and Magnum. Your next card is shaping up nicely.

A good win for Stevens/Kong that helps put them on the map in the tag team division. I don't think they are escaping the Armstrong feud, though, without Stevens taking a couple of pinfalls from Brad.
Garvin isn't destroyed often, but Eadie did the job. He's looking tougher than ever.
You've built up Roberts enough that a victory over him provides some value. Gets Williams right back on track for a shot at the World Title. And I just realized Ryan said the same thing.
What a hot tag team feud you have with the Sheepherders and the Fantastics. Great brawl. Looks like this feud will continue and it has money written all over it.
Such a big win for Magnum. He's done extremely well for himself so far. I hope he gets a shot or two at the title before his accident.
What a hot Piper's Pit! Amazing segment. Loved Piper and Humperdink getting into it, the announcement of the West Coast Title (good name), and Eadie getting involved. Piper should have the fans in LA eating out of his hand. Haven't seen him as a face in some time, but we know the fans were dying to cheer for him in his last heel run. Great stuff here, Vertigo.
Allowing Bass to get the pinfall over Rocky was a smart move as it helps move him further up the card.
Tough crowd. Here is Adams trying to show off his abilities and he is getting booed for it. Not to mention he was a good sport until SD Jones ambushed him. Think I'm going to become a big fan of Adams.
Hmm...wonder if there is a controversy coming out of this? Odd that Rude wouldn't show up.
The tag match may not have matched the quality from last month's show, but it still a great way to end the show. No surprise that Guerrero and Santana held onto the straps. The six-man tag is a good way to continue both feuds.

Huzzah! Piper comes to WWA! This is just the kind of star power this circuit needed and it was a hot debut segment. Bill Eadie has also been built up pretty well here. WWA has built some nice homegrown talent, but a main event guy coming over from the bigger and more established organizations brings a kind of legitimacy.
I have a suspicion where the Rude-Haynes feud is going, but this no-show may throw a wrench in that.

I'm a big Eadie fan and things just keep falling in place for him.
I contemplated how I would bring Piper in for what seemed like forever. He's such a personality and he's so good as heel or face. Plus he is a gigantic star in the Universe at this time. I think his presence in WWA gets us at least a featured article in September's issue of PWI, right?
Rude-Haynes is so fun to write! I could write for Rude until his retirement if I had to.
