Not trying to ditch my TNM game or anything, but has anyone played this? Just wondering what the pros and cons are compared to TNM.
(I know this question/discussion has probably come up before.)

I broke down and went ahead and bought it the other day. I've had it for about 3-4 days, and I've maybe played it three times.
It just saps me of all of my creativity. It takes forever to book a card, you have thousands of angles to choose from but none of them are the way I would want it done, and it is extremely hard to push certain guys. To me, it isn't that much fun.
I could see using it like I do TNM. It could keep track of who quits, who I can sign, and things like that, but I already have TNM for that.
It does have more of a single player feel to it, so it does have that going for it. I could see using it if I didn't want to write out cards and just do things in my head. The problem is that writing out the cards and posting them on here is a huge part of what I enjoy about simming a wrestling fed.
It feels like it has a pretty steep learning curve to it as well. If you liked previous versions of TEW and EWR then you will probably fall in love with TEW 2010. If you didn't, like me, you probably won't. I think I'm sticking with TNM and OOTP12 (for my in depth simming).

Thanks, yea the only thing appealing is I wish I had a "universe" that was playing around my fed. I have never run any type of angle where a big name free agent signs with the company, but I do try to keep things relative to the year I'm running.

You guys peaked my interest so I went and downloaded the demo. Didn't like that it was all fake wrestlers or can you download real ones? Either way, it seems more management based than an acctual sim. I like running my own angles the way I want not picking from a list. The aspects of tv contracts and such is cool, but such a different animal then TNM. I like the freedom of creativity you have with TNM that just doesnt seem to be there with TEW.

I don't know if you can do it with the demo, but on the forums there are several mods that you can install. These will allow you to replay certain eras from '85 or '95 or there a couple of ones set up for 2011. I would never play TEW if I couldn't play with real wrestlers.
I started out playing one that started you around WrestleMania III. It was a very well done mod, but it still couldn't hold my attention for long.

The game's developer cannot include real wrestlers due to copyright issues. Fortunately, there are a large fanbase that creates mods.
I have a couple of these games, but I burn out rather quick. It's like Josh says, too many options, but still nothing that suits you. It's not creativity like TNM.
A hybrid would have been perfect, I think, I would very much like for my segments to be rated somehow. And a universe would be cool to play in. But I'll try and not spend any more money on TEW, it's not TNM.

I haven't played 2010, but I admit that I do have the freeware TEW2005 on my computer, but to be honest, I very rarely use it, and when I do it's usually only once or twice a week I use it before I get bored. Plus the long load times between "days" kind of frustrates me. I don't hate the sim, but it's not really my cup of tea, or in my case, not really my cup of espresso.
I do admit to going to the EWbattleground site quite a bit though, especially to look for pic packs. I find a lot of the pics useful for the TNM Visualizer.
